  2. Hey Guys, Does anyone know much about this place? Do they sell the stuff they make like this awesome body? http://www.bestmotoringvideo.com/image/wp05/size_a/3.jpg I have it as wallpaper thanks to another members post. Every time I look at it I drool........ Second keyboard shot in a week!!!! I have done some google searches but have come up with nothing. Thanks, Rufus
  3. How about a little help posting the banner in my sig. I can't seem to figure it out. Something to do with tags? Rufus
  4. Try a couple of vice grips in rags or better yet some high density rubber, make the adjustment so that you can't squeeze it by hand then put the ends of the vice grips into a vice. You wont hurt the shaft as it is hardend metal. That should do it. Heres a better idea though.... Inpect the nut you are trying to put on. It more than likely has been damaged and is the problem. Sometimes when a nut is taken off to abruptly ( not walking it back and forth) it F's up the threads. Youmay have also damaged the threads on the strut as a result of installing a damaged nut. Take a look at those. Get a new nut and if it does not thread on easily, determine the size and pitch of the threads on the strut and get a die that size from the hardware store. Most good places sell individual dies. Run it down the threads of the strut. That should be it. Now you will not only be able to torque to spec, but you will actually be able to take it apart in the futer if you need to. Rufus
  5. Unfortunatley it's not Greimann's anymore...he sold it and the guy that bought it is trying to sell it now...or might have sold it already. You can still PM Greimann and ask him about it. He is still around the site. Rufus
  6. Ya know mike..... maybe if you hadn't spent sooooo much on that car of yours you could afford a supercomputer!!!! Did that sound like a parent type? I'm practicing. Someday I will have to explain to my boys why it's allright for me to spend all my cash on cars, parts, booze, etc... While they need to save their money for the future. Haven't figured it out yet. Laptops are hard to buy because upgrading is difficult if not impossible. For the amount you are going to spend on a decent laptop you could build three awesome desktops....Kinda like cars!!! Rufus
  7. Hey I was pretty close Huh? Who says the mind weakens with age......who does say that anyway.......Hmmmmm????
  8. If you search for posts by Dan Juday you will find that he did use a HVAC type of tape to secure the tabs. I think he also used sheet metal screws first. The post is titled baby comes home....I think Rufus
  9. I wish someone would take me up on my offer to trade my wife for some of the parts I need!!!

  15. I used steel wool, then some aluminum polish mixed with lots of elbow grease on some very pitted oxidized aluminum rims and they came out great. Rufus
  16. Nic, I had a bunch of problems with blinkers, stop lights etc... I found that corrosion along the entire system ie.. the switch plug points, bulb sockets, factory but-connector, etc... all had corrosion that was over causing excessive resistance and therefore overheating the system. My switch would get so hot that the main power wires would de-solder themselves from the switch. After re-sodering them twice I began to investigate all the wiring and that was when I noticed the corrosion. You can't see it untill you pull apart the connectors, but I garuntee it is there. After I went thru and cleaned all connection points and once again sodered ( i know i am spelling that wrong) the power wires I have not had any problems. In fact the light intensity was substantially higher. Funny how that works!!! I don't think you are going to be able to get the part new that you are looking for. No Nissan dealer ( at least around here) has any type of electrical parts for the old Z's. Rufus EDIT= I stand corrected VB has them..see this thread http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=28646&highlight=
  17. Sounds cool!! I have a 280 and would love to see this. Most of the flares being sold have a sharp radius.....I think a softer curve would look great. Got any good shots of your car? If you had some on the same angle as a 300zx we could photoshop them together for a rough idea of how it might look. Rufus
  18. Grumpy's list is one of the best things I have seen on this site to date and I have seen ALOT of great stuff!! Hope your new engine is as good as it sounds like it will be mike!! Rufus
  19. Is that car as nice on the inside as it is on the outside? one word comes to mind......Sweeeeeeeeeet!!! I love the added scoop on the hood. What kind of rear end does she have? Rufus
  20. That sounds great Jim!! Just let me know how much. Shipping would be to 14207. No rust on this one? Rufus
  21. You must have something better to do than harass us northern guys!!
  22. I just pulled my cowl off alongg with my whole front clip and threw it in the dumpster!!! no turning back now!!! Rufus
  23. That is useful info Tim. As I posted before I have a rot spot on that very cowl. I was planning on welding in a new piece of metal as a patch. Maybe I should look into a new piece? I wonder if you can get it in glass? EDIT: I apologize as well. I will investigate on my own. Thanks!!
