  1. That's pretty cool how you can create those crazy shapes and put it together into a useful piece.
  2. Excellent pictures, sounds like a blast. Your car looks great.
  3. 0.63 is the T3 turbine A/R you want. A TO4E 50 trim completely describes the compressor, no further specification is necessary, I am fairly certain about this.

    diff question

No, the engine is what makes the power.
  5. You have to measure your pads from the recessed surface on the bottom, as that is what contacts the valve stem. Unless it is a solid pad (I've seen both in thicker lash pads), you don't measure overall thickness - my guess is you have stock .120 pads.
  6. I think you have all the information you need already. T3/TO4E 50 trim, with the .63 A/R turbine. Both compressor and turbine are fully specified. That is a good turbo to use, but the compressor will interfere with the intake unless you space it off the manifold. The stock T3 has a .63 A/R turbine, and a 60 trim compressor (T3), but it sounds like you want the hybrid turbo. I am using a TO4B V trim compressor on a stock turbine, and it fits with no spacer.
  7. S30 !!! Largest, most versatile engine compartment EVAR.
  8. Doesn't sound to me like a welded diff is needed or wanted for the street. Unless you want to street race, and then it doesn't matter what diff you run, an AWD is going to spank you.
  9. I've had mine, my only one, since 1990. Just 22 years.
  10. Aside from not having enough power, it's kind of cool.... But not $16k cool. Not even close.
  11. I think that unlikely. Not having seen it, I imagine it's running 14-15 psi intercooled, very similar to what a single turbo will do. Assuming it's an L28 that is.
  12. I never had any drivetrain issues until I went to the strip. You just don't get the traction to hurt anything on the street, so unless you strap on some sticky shoes for drag racing, I would think standard R200 with a good diff mount is ok for the street. But halfshafts and diff mounts break very easy, even with 300-350 hp, as soon as you start pulling faster than 1.9 second 60' times.
  13. Haven't hooked it up yet, but I pulled one off a Hyundai, with pigtail. IIRC it's a 5k pot, the D fits the throttle shaft but it will require a custom mount to the TB.
  14. I think most of that is idle air control, with input from the air conditioning. I ran a Z31 ECU for a while, and with a throttle body air bypass and a idle bypass, it idled fine. The only issue I had was I would stall sometimes when snapping off the throttle -- I was going to fix that with a dashpot, but never got around to it. Wolf may be doing other things with all that weird stuff, so you should probably contact them to confirm, but I think you could bypass it without too much effect.
  15. Yes, crank bolt is 27mm. I used the O'Reilly harmonic balancer puller for V8s, with some timing cover bolts to thread into the hub center, and a large washer for the main screw to set in to keep the center threads from getting damaged. Works perfectly and no chance to hurt the damper or crank. Here's a picture of what I used, but it's not the exact part...
  16. That's not that extreme of a cam, I ran that on a turbo, and it has a nice idle -- no overlap at all at 0.050". And the lift is .460", about the limit you can do with factory valve gear.
  17. I can't imagine it would make a difference. The only thing I can think of idle air control, and that is a minor issue to work.
  18. The Libby loves biodiesel. I've put 80k miles on it using B100 and mixtures throughout the seasons, with no issues. I've plugged a filter once, and gelled a couple of times, but it performs on B100 just like normal. On the other hand, there are a few vegetable oil conversions out there, and some of those have ended in disaster, mostly due to blowby polymerizing in the sump, and cooking bearings when the oil system loses lubrication. I would NEVER run even a little vegetable oil in the CRD; the injectors alone are $800 each to replace.
  19. I'd sooner thread any holes and install brass plugs before I JB-welded it.
  20. I do similar fueling with biodiesel made from used Chinese fryer oil, on both daily drivers. Hard to beat fuel for less than $1 a gallon, especially when the VW gets better than 40mpg city, and the SUV gets 25mpg city.
  21. Fun project. I love diesels, I still haven't recovered from the trauma of seeing a friend tearing down an LD28 just for the crank.
  22. Gorgeous! I agree, the 350Z did not impress me much, but the 370Z represents a significant improvement.
  23. I like the non-webbed N42 with the steel heat shield retained. Works well for me.
