  1. haha mike drives around with no hood...
  2. I was surfin' the net and came across this link, where the guy dismantles a new elise. Check out the rest of the website, where theres lots of tech info on the elise, and also a super7 site. click here for the body-off survey and http://www.sandsmuseum.com/cars/
  3. i would keep the digital lap timer clock... also keep the wheels... and i think the steering wheel should work. Keep the brake booster, brake MC, clutch MC, Clutch Slave (but your keeping the tranny so you would probably do that anyway) radiator, but only if it looks like it is in good condition. The glass light bulbs will also bolt onto your 240z, and maybe the tail lights, if you want to do a conversion? BTW why did it come with the R180, is it automatic?
  4. QR25DE... and he's probably thinking of the 200sx SE-R.
  5. yeah, i don't know about the pantera hatch/zg flares combo... but wtvr
  6. I just saw videos 13 and 14... if you make a dvd i will buy it!!!!
  7. i'm trying to figure out what this all means. This is a reading off a snap-on ignition probe thingie (very technical term) and this is the output. The mechanic that did it didn't really explain much to me other than the number 3 injector should be replaced... I think there is more information to be read from this graph.
  8. john, what was the purpose of swapping a 13b into the rx8? what are the advantages over the renisis?
  9. ah, thanks that clears things up a bit. Is the N-42 head you are working on going to get efi or carbs?
  10. so, that is an N-42 head welded up beyond recognition, and now it looks more like a MN-47 head. Why not start with the MN-47 in the first place?
  11. Thanks for the replies! We have checked the spark plugs and wires. It has a new dizzy cap, so for now i'm ruling that out. The car is carbureted, so the next thing i'm going to do is check the compression on that cylinder and see if anything is amiss. Btw Scottie, the car is an 84 olds cutlass supreme (4 door) and this is a N/A carburated engine, taking a closer look this engine is even fire. You are definitely right because looking at the FSM for this car, the only engine options were even fire. I thought it was odd fire because the spacing on the dizzy cap where the plugs go on, are not evenly spaced at all, but once you look inside, the actual contact are evenly spaced. Odd... (or should i say even... haha)
  12. Does anyone have a link to the first ever post on hybridz... I tried tricking the search function in to doing it, but it would only let me search by keyword. I'm curious! -oliver
  13. nice pan mike! It's baffled right? you got a pic of that too?
  14. yeah, if you think about it you're paying for the chassis of a z, and some fabrication work. the bulk of the cost is going to be in the engine.
  15. lol.... yeah, i'm waitin on them snazzy vids! Keep up the good work!
  16. I would make sure that your oil pump is FOR SURE working. Not having oil pressure is a great way to fry an engine. as for the dead cylinders, have you looked under the valve cover to see if all the rocker arms are still on the adjusting bolts? when i first bought my car, I had a dead cylinder and I didn't even find out until I had already swapped in another engine (and threw a rod on it!!). Either way, good to hear that you got her started! now get her on the road!!!
  17. should have said it in the first place...
  18. the front styling reminds me of a z without bumpers. (leading edge of the hood being the first thing to hit anything in front of the car)
  19. porsche, bmw, ferrari, DATSUN... they all come (came) with the retard option
