  1. It'll look similar to what is here. http://www.zcarcreations.com/howto/240bump.htm
  2. Does the test, test the field circuity, which is that wire that keeps burning, in the alternator? If not then it wont tell you tht the alterntor is bad
  3. It goes to an "idiot" light that is connected to ignition. It shouldn't melt... itcould possibly be that the alternator is bad.
  4. Here is the terminal descriptions of the alternator. http://www.zcarcreations.com/technical/lr160term.htm Which one is burning S or L? I'm guessing L? Sounds like it could be a bad alternator.. You can leave it disconnected and have it still charge but you need to rev the engine to "self excite" the alternator.
  5. Have you tried contacting Tabco? http://www.tabcobodyparts.com/
  6. Have you checked for spark?
  7. Heh, Thats a different guy though..
  8. If you check his lastest vids, He almost has it going
  9. Glad to hear that you got the car running. Have you checked/changed spark plugs?
  10. If you wired both the FI relay and ignitor with the same "On" wire then it should be ok. If not then check the b/w wire on the FI relay, it should see 12 while on and cranking. That switch wire you are using sounds like the ACC wire. The "ON/ignition" has about 12v during crank and on. Figure N http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99620
  11. How about the FI Relay? Are you getting ignition to it? When I had the problem of not starting on my swap, I was using accessory instead of ignition, meaning no power while cranking. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99620 Also does your fuel pump turn on (prime) at "ACC" or "On" ? Led will turn off while cranking.
  12. I would check the flasher and check the harness on the passenger side, the harness that has the hazard switch on.
  13. I actually have a spare turbo 81 afm mount, at my house. Right now I am at school and can't get it to you until a week or so. Pm me if you want.

  15. Checkout your local parts store, Mine(Advance Auto Parts) has amplified hidden ones for about $20. Or you can get a this dipole antenna from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIVERSAL-MARINE-BOAT-RADIO-DIPOLE-WIRE-AM-FM-ANTENNA_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a15Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem380113073572QQitemZ380113073572QQptZBoatQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQ5fGear
  16. For the 5 pin white plug, check out "Figure N" at http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99620 Figure N Ok, this is in the same loom as the FI relay. There are 3 wires that you will need to cut and splice. First off, don't cut any wires that are going to the plug for the FI relay, those need to stay intact. There are 5 other wires not attached to the relay. They are from left to right; -Green - Constant power (Needs to be run to a 12+ volt constant) -Black with white strip - Switched power (Needs to be run to a 12+ volt switched power) The end from the relay side needs to goto the switched power. Not the harness side. -Blue with red stripe - is switched power for your fuel pump relay (has 12+ volts when key is on, will have power for 5 seconds if car is not running to prime the fuel system, and will have a constant 12+ volts when car is running.) The yellow and white wires you see bent off to the side you will not need and wont be using
  17. Is it only under load? Or also while standing still?
  18. You could try covering things up (everything but the projector len) with tape) And see if the leak is still there, if it isn't you could paint it...
  19. The msa type 3 bodykit. zcarparts.com
  20. Yes it'll work with the stock oil pressure gauge. I don't know about having it as a safety device, possibly with a relay it'll work.
  21. I'm guessing the ecu is also from an 83, Does the green led turn on in the ecu when you turn on the ignition?
  22. So any update on your situation?
  23. When I did my L28et swap earlier this year, I also had the problem of no spark. It turned out that I had wired an incorrect switched power, "acc" instead of an "ign" , wire to the ign wire on the efi relay. Hope it'll help. Which wiring did you follow? My ecu is sitting on my floor as well.
