  1. rotary rated at 1.3 cc.. but thats only one side of each rotor. if you go a full rev on a rotary its actually a 3.9 liter motor.
  2. actually kinda popular in japan. but i still dont understand it. Basically the guys that do it are the ones that have some much L motor stuff (car Shops) they dont know what to do with it. Or alot of money. It cost so much more to get a L engine to 500 HP then the rb motor. I think they do it just to say we idd it ;>
  3. those are not gtr wheels. if you look close they are a 2 piece wheel . nice looking wheels though
  4. rb26 and the 2jz can handle 500+ and be very reliable
  5. zwhore, they were watanabes. and no i allready sold them
  6. you need to get the fill plug out that is the only way to make sure you get enough or not too much fluid in there. I might be wrong but you may be able to squirt fluid thru the side via the axle hole. Is it stripped or what? If it is i would remove the cover and get it fixed. Its a PITA but iwll ensure you have the right amount of fluid
  7. Zline, Ill be using custom length CVs made by driveshaftshop.com, Im going to have some adapters made to extend the tierods out hope this works. as for brakes im taking the rear struts out of the car again and getting the guy who did the original mod to fab up some brackets to mount the z31 rear calipers. if all goes well should be up and running again in a month or so. Stony
  8. this car is an example of a kit that is being sold in japan. If i remember this right its around 4500.oo us for the kit. and that does look like an sr20 thru the scoop;>
  9. im running zg type flares with 15x10 draglites with 5.5 inch backspacing. this is with coilovers.
  10. fill it with an intercooler
  11. if you watch the video the bike comes completly off the ground like hes trying to do a flip or something. Ive seen these guys pull the bike up on the rear part of the bike and scrap it. but in this case it went right on by without even touching. That for sure is gonna hurt.
  12. has anyone looked at the stub shafts from the lexus or where ever the r-230 comes from? im going with custom length cromoly z31 cv axles and modded the strut to accept the stubs from the z31. they are the same length just had to machine the housing to accept different bearings. should be considerably stronger then the old setup

    nicest Z

i do believe those are RS-8s and they look like 16" so youd be looking at about 4-500 a wheel plus shipping from japan
  14. everything is kinda on hold right now, been really busy at work. all i have to do is send the length i need to the shop and they can make it. then brake lines, tierods, new 5 lug wheels, and finish the cage
  15. I've been really busy at work havent really worked on the car. all i need is the right size cv's, brakes and the right length tierods and the car is back on the road. just have no time. And yes id still like the sump just dont know when i can install it
  16. damn thats cool..... any pics of the finished product?
  17. do a search in this forum you will get lots of hits. R34 is a body designation and it is the latest version of the GTR which i believe hit the market in 99 or 2000. the rb26 has been around since 1989 and has been relatively unchanged
  18. I agree. Ive said it before ill say it again. Although i love mine and im glad i did it, I would have never of done it if i lived in the US at the time. the 2JZ i think would have been my choice. I just love the way the inline 6 open wastegate sounds ;>. The only thing i dont like about the rb is the way i feel about 20 seconds before i release the clutch fearing something in the motor or tranny will break
  19. a 1200 hp vg is hi maintenance. i talked to a guy who knows a guy running one in that area in california. They remove and replace all main bearings every 2 runs because they show significant wear

    swap time!

Hey even though it was for an rb26 the rb25 is pretty much the same. in fact there are no oil pan or pickup mods, its all bolt on. you just get the pan and pickup for the 200zr and thats it. If you going to race it i would go with the r-33 gts-t 5 speed its stronger. tranny mount will be custom. the best way to do the intercooler is to get the piping mad so it goes thru the holes in teh core support. arizona z car makes a good all aluminum radiator. there are no skylines with a rear sump they are all front sump. the z31 rb20 is teh only rear sump rb motor. My engine position is alittle forward but it is basically in the same spot as the L series motor in relation to the firewall. the only thing i would change is how hi it sits. then again if it goes any lower the oil pan will be below the a-frame. stony
  21. flip from hi to low a couple times hard. one time the switch on the column got stuck in between hi and low, then only hi worked for a while. i played with it alittle more and both started working again never had a problem since. my guess is the switch is either going bad or intermintent
  22. ok sounds good.... but im really interested in the cutting and rewelding the arm so i can use the stock z rack tierods. i was planning on cutting them grinding the weld seam at an angle, fill in with weld then grind it down. i sectioned the struts so the top have is S30 and the bottem half is z31. im not to concerned with being able to use it in stock configuation later if i need to i will replace the entire strut housing.
  23. what was that you used to make the rack rod longer? do you want to make 2 more ?? That is exactly what im looking to make before.
