Well got my hands on a stock dash. gutted, trimmed to fit and installed gauges. now just need a dash cap and it should look pretty good. Any one recommend a decent dash cap? Are the easy to install? Anyways here are some pics. car is going to the body shop to get the 1/4s roughed in and wheel wells stretched 2 inches. hope to have pics in a month or so.

You said rb project? how much of a project do you want. I have been throwing around the idea of getting rid of the Z and buying a newer car.

IM running 280s intake and exhaust.

Here is mine at 400. it was a handful on the road. Here is my second Z with 700+ at the wheels. much more fun. didn't dare try to drive it on the road.

its a shell will not work with any stock stuff. its kind of a biatch to get it in there. i ended up hacking it a bit. once i get it mounted will take it back out and glass over all the holes and make it fit better. maybe i should just get a stock dash. wanna trade?

Thanks A little more progress. Nothing is fitting like it did in the black car so just about everything is needing little tweaks. pretty much have had to shorten every braided line.

Motor and trans are solid mounted from stock location, a mid plate, and tranny mount. so i have no movement.

I know the blowoff may not be in teh optimal position but for drag racing application should matter much since im using an auto and wont lift to the run is done.

Still dirty. still needs a couple bracket in the engine bay to bolt stuff to but overall its ready to pull the motor and clean up the engine and prep the car for paint.....AGAIN

Well the exhaust is done, inter cooler piping is done, had to clearance a couple spots in the engine bay for radiator hoses, rear end is done. pick car up tomorrow and will post some pics. its ready for driveshaft, wiring and paint interior!!!! then off to the body shop for some body work and ext paint. No IT STILL WASN'T WORTH THE 5 YEAR WAIT!!! especially when this **** could have been done so much earlier!!!

If you still have the microtech can you PM please. i'm about to get my car back and need to know if i need to sell the v-pro or hold on to it. I really want to have a system i can tune myself. and since you mentioned tuning issues... did you ever have it on a dyno?

Can you rev it ? or is it just an idle thing. Has it been running fine then all of the sudden this happened or is it a project first time start up? Somehow you are getting pressure to the rail???? maybe return and supply fuel lines reversed? can you hear the fuel pump running? are you just assuming its running cause the switch is one? wired backwards?

Should be getting the car back from the 2nd trip to the chassis guy. Rear end will be completely done, Intercooler piping done, Exhaust done. so i ordered some stuff to keep me busy when i get it back. will post pics when i get it back... Got a quick release steering wheel kit that has buttons for line lock and nitrous activation already built in. The trans brake will be on the shifter. Also got a matching seat and cover.

I know 240 were s30, but were did s31's begin and end. thanks just a gee weez question that i couldn't find after 5 min of searching.

Well i was out in the garage and decided to see how the speedo and tach i have looked in the dash. well turns out the cage dash bar is too close to the dash and the autometer gages don't fit. i need gages that are about half as deep as the autometer gages. anyone ever come across these kind of gages? DEFI gages come to mind but i haven't actually seen a 5 inch defi gage so not sure they exist. any help would be much appreciated.

I like the trans cooler location. might have to do something like that on mine. You know whats funny? You commented in my for sale thread that if i had mine up for sale a couple months sooner you may have bought it instead of this one. well i said the same thing about your car when it went up for sale the first time right after i bought the black car ;> Anyways car is looking good.

A wasted spark is when in an ignition system in a four-stroke cycle internal combustion engine spark plugs fire in pairs, on both the exhaust and compression strokes. The extra spark on the exhaust stroke has no effect and is thus "wasted". This design is simpler than a conventional ignition system, but the extra sparks can reduce the lifespan of components (contact breaker, spark plugs). If your firing order is off you will have issues. BTW i couldn't put that in my own words so i pulled it from wiki

Spork is now the new owner of the black car now its time to get moving on the original unnatural aspiration. hope to have some update pics in a week or so. its getting an exhaust, inter cooler pipe, rear end final adjustments, drive shaft ect ect. Ordering a passenger seat for the wife, and need to start thinking about wiring her up. . once that is done got to tear it down and get everything painted. woo hooo cant wait.

get an rb30 use the pan and mounts you have on the zr motor and drop an rb30 in ;> OR SELL THEM FOR MORE THEN WHAT YOU BOUGHT THE MOTOR FOR Oopss sorry for the caps
