  1. Looks very good so far Jamie. I can’t wait to see the finished assembly. You and your little secret shop-o-tricks.
  2. Hey KAZU, What year coils did you use? Turbo or non turbo. Any part #`s for the coils ? Do you have any close up pixs of your mounting solution?
  3. Thats great news Mike. I did not want to come up and take that assembly out OR put it back in, again.
  4. One key note is to ALWAYS tap and clean the threads in what ever the bolts are going in. In a "closed whole" use a (flat headed) bottom tap instead of a (pointed end) through tap. I use a small amount of never seize on the bolt threads, UNLESS the bolts are going in a "thru whole" then use some type of sealant. You don’t want the never seize or sealant to ooze out and get on the head gasket. The (new) Nissan L6 turbo head bolts are plenty strong. I do a 3 stage torque (L6 engines) Torque all bolts at 35 ft lbs then go to 50 ft lbs and then go to 65 ft lbs. I use both a spiral and X type torque method. After the engine runs the first 30 min, shut it down and let it cool down for 24 hrs. I then retorque all head bolts to 70 ft lbs (Nissan L6), again using both X and spiral methods.
  5. Wrench made by Hazet Has 4374 stamped on it 14mm / 17mm 8 point socket ends Both ends rotate I purchased this years ago off a tool truck It works great for the drain plugs
  6. I just use a piece of plastic tubing and a funnel. Install the drain plug Run the tube (about 4 feet) thru the rear fender well down to the fill whole in the diff Pour in the first quart and just measure the amount needed from the second quart Install fill plug It takes a few minutes but it’s clean Works for the tranny also
  7. Great work Jody! Look forward to seeing the car in person. That picture needs to be a big ol poster. And I like the wheels, nice choice.
  8. Now I understand the e-mail Sorry to hear about the damage, thankfully it was not worse and no one was hurt! I never understood how you could drive and enjoy your car out on those crazy streets. Let me know if I can help with any Nissan parts.
  9. Lots of good info on webers carbs here Some of it could be edited out.
  10. Just a thought. . . The wiper pivots get stiff due to the little boots that cover them crack and they get some rust in them. I bought new pivots and they come with new boots. I took my old pivots out to replace them but ended up just taking the old ones apart and used some scotch bite pads to clean the shafts, put some light grease on them and put the new boots on. I never have used the new pivots, the old ones worked great. The wipers worked much faster than before and I never had any problems since. Of course if it is your motor that is causing your problem this won’t cure that issue. Its a couple hours work, it may be worth while to give it a go.
  11. I just like the Z for what it is. . . simple and easy, nice looking with good performance and I can do anything I want to it. I have never had a bad ride in my Z even at its worst. Really don’t care to have “hot†car on the streets these days. Costs to much, I would get in to much trouble and some dumb a$$ is undoubtedly going to mess it up one way or the other or steel it. Take mine to a track somewhere and enjoy it, bring it home and get into my daily driver and go.
  12. First, find a very good accountant and lawyer to help set up all the details. There is a saying that friends and business don’t mix, make sure all parties are aware of and agree to all the details of how the business will be structured. IMO, the business needs enough monies (in the bank) to cover all the first years operating expenses. Health and business insurance is expensive! There is nothing like being self-employed / business owner, but its no cake walk either. Good luck!
  13. I like it! I always thought it was British racing green (a darker green) that was bad luck. Reminds me of the green the Jaguar group 04 & 44 cars wore in the late 80`s. They were and are some of my all time favorites. I like the black hood but don`t know about the black hatch . . .
  14. Jonathan, I have 4. chokes If your interested contact me off line.
  15. Pix #3 (in your Vette album) is pretty cool. Did you have help getting that out of the car? That does not look like a "engine out" in 30 min job.
  16. Its a manual, in very good condition. You can see it here
  17. pm me and I will give you my phone #. I have a 71 FSM if your intertested.
  18. Congratulations Jamie and good job! Hope all are well. Are you done yet?
  19. I think we need a get together after you get it back so it can be christened. I want to see that truck as well.
  20. Anybody notice how he has the hood opening? I like it! My complements to the builder.
  21. Very nice documentation RedZ85!
  22. Are the pistons in the Toyota S12W vented calipers larger than the S12-8 non-vented calipers?
  23. Great to see your progress Mike. It`s been like 2 plus years I have seen it in pieces. Keep it up and you will be tracking that car soon.
