  1. I used them with good results. Can`t say about total street mileage, but I got 8 or 9 track events on a set before changing over to adjustable front control arms. Did not really see any wear issues when they came off. Adding the grease fitting would be a plus. The inserts can also be purchased seperatly if one wears down.
  2. Congrats on the new position and better commute. Nice way to kick off a new year. "I'm also gonna sign up for several track days this year. I plan to do 4 in the Vette/ Z and four on the bike." Get a nice video camera and I`ll be video pit boy so at least I can get to the track.
  3. Check the battery with a hydrometer (if you can get the caps off)? Do a load test on the battery? Clean battery and cable terms? Battery cables? Check the simple stuff first! Just some thoughts
  4. I have two sets from MSA = sucks One set from VB = sucks Out of the three sets, the pass side fits ok but the driver side fits poorly with the said gaps. I tried using more than three of the brackets for mounting, still cannot get the drivers side installed to suit me. gaps If only someone would make a QUALITY set of these things.
  5. Take it to a radiator shop and have it pressure tested, or fill with water and test with a small amount of REGULATED air pressure.
  6. They are also in Virginia. I need to ck and see if they would service a residental address. I used them in the past when I was in the car business. Good stuff! Execellent hand cleaner as well!
  7. Cleaning Cheat Tip, After cleaning/degreasing the engine compartment, let it dry and then spray a heavy coating of ArmorAll in the engine compartment (motor, fenders, everything). It makes old stuff look new!
  8. Just for a reference, my rear springs are a bit thicker (coil diameter) than the fronts. So measure your coil thickness (front - rear) to see if there is any difference. This is referencing (non-coilover) aftermarket springs.
  9. I`ve got a couple of pics and a small write up on the cowl panel mod I did. Maybe get an idea. My site, Z Car page
  10. 240Z2NV, Could you take an inside measurement of the frame rail and let me know what it is? Thanks for the offer on the part, but what ever I put in will be new. I’m just weird like that.
  11. Would be nice if they offered a set of plans to build yourself. Prebuilt, would be a bit pricey for shipping. Nice idea though.
  12. Thanks Al, I`ve already talked with John at Bad Dog Parts. He has a nice front "frame rail bar" peice but no rail rails to speak of. What I want is to tie in the rear frame work section and extend it all the way up to where the frame rail starts to cruve up at the T/C box area. Idea 1 = (using Pete`s plans) use box tubing (1x3) from the rear and lay it into (from the inside of car) the the stock frame rails already in place. (The box tubing will be half inside & half showing under the car) Idea 2 = Do the same as above, but use some replacements frame rails. I can not at this point is get so deep into a full frame rail replacement my other winter projects don`t get done. I have already started some other projects and have to set some limits or this will turn into a "while I`m at project" That`s Not Going To Happen! Datsunlover, I would like to get that link!
  13. I could not find this post! Some time ago, someone posted about a supplier (not Zedd Findings) offering preformed lengths of steel frame rail mateial thicker than stock replacement rails. I`ve seen some on ebay that are made from 16 gauge metal. I do not have the necessary workspace, equipment, time, money, etc. to start a full blown under side framerail reconstrution (like Pete`s). I just want to tie in the rear framework with the good frame rails allready in place. The full frame restoration will come latter down the road.

    Stickys

I see some threads now have "stickys" back. Are all the stickys (that were) goining to get put back in place, or are they gone?
  15. Can anyone tell me what the piston sizes are in these calipers? How about a referene to the Toyota 4x4 truck vented rotor calipers? I know the Mazda calipers are alumium (good thing) and the mounting ears are farther apart, thats not an issue. Pad size for these Mazda calipers vs the Toyota calipers mentioned above?
  16. They are ARP studs. Just thread a die on the stud to the length you want the stud to be, cut off the extra length, round the ends abit and then un-thread the die.

    LD28 crank?

Cronic, JamieT (member here) had a crank for sell not to long ago. Search his user name and see if it`s still avalible.
  18. SBC 400, please post up some more pics of the chassis if you have more.
  19. I took a look around each of the seperate forums and noticed that the highest page count in any forum was only 10 deep. Others have already asked about the stickys, and referenced that the users total posts has decreased. So is there some more technical info / threads that just haven`t been copied back over yet, or is alot of stuff gone? This IS NOT a bitch session, just asking.
  20. Is there a way to turn off that pesky text box that displays everytime I mouse over a thread?
  21. Read the write up and view the pics of my cowl panel mod.
  22. Don`t know which model you are referencing, but you can see some pics and a small write up of my cowl panel mod on my site / Zcar page.
  23. Looks nice! I have always liked a white Z + it`s got webers. Kick A$$
  24. Mike Kelly had some listed in the classifieds, ck with him and see if he still has them.
