  1. Hopefully the 114 LSA will idle a little better than my TR230 LSA 111, but regardless you will need tuning or it will run really lean on the top end (very bad) and really rich on the low end (really stinky).
  2. 4K to 6K for the LS1/T56 alone. Maybe another 2k to 4k for parts and lots of time. Whenever you say LS1, just add an extra 0 onto all the prices. Edit - If a shop does the work it might be an extra 2k or more for a running setup.
  3. I wonder about that. I run stock springs right now and stock shocks. When I hit the throttle the rear squats on the bumb stops and the front rises up to the end of play and makes for a hairy ride, but the little BF Goodrich Traction T/A 195 rear tires bite the pavement like no tomorrow. I attribuite the traction to the amount of rubber on the road and it seems that at full squat the tires bite really well. It's gotta look funny. I hesitate changing over to my coilover setup because I think it will be too stiff to grip and I'll loose traction.
  4. Awesome aint it. All that torque means that any gear at any speed is ok. Lets see a video if you can do one. I've been driving mine for 2 months now and I still get a pit in my stomach every time it drive it. It's too much fun.
  5. Couldn't you put deflector just before the end of the hood (by the windsheild) like 6 to 8 inchs back and about 4 inchs high sloping at the angle of the windsheild and create a vacuum behind it to pull the air. It might even keep the bugs off.
  6. Saw an orange 240 or 260 next to Home Depot off of Windward Parkway in Alpharetta, Ga.
  7. Good luck to you Mike! Way to go! When we started our company (Innovative Circuits, Inc.) I went without a salary for 7 months, then got bread and water pay for 2 years. I'm still digging out but it is really worth it!
  8. When asked what color I'm going to paint the Z I always said "Black or Red", but I was asked today and I caught myself saying "Silver, BMW silver". Black chrome bumpers would set it on fire! Nice Job.
  9. John, I have a 200,000 lb press. Send me the phone and I'll crush it into oblovion for you. If you like I can turn it into powder.
  10. Awesome, black is a great color! Nice work, wanna do another one!
  11. I've never been, but plan on it. I was told to just take it easy and leave on the yellow, I guess that means that waiting for green equals > 1 sec reaction times. I bet it is really hard to concentrate on driving when your placed in that situation though, and you did it at 10PM after sitting for 3 hours. I hope I can do as well.

If this was just a chat site that would be fine and dandy, but it is a tech site so a basic knowledge of the search function should be a prerequisite to keep the same questions down to a dull roar.
  13. They really quite it down above 2000 rpm, but the exhaust still exits in front of the differential with a couple of turn downs so the drone is still there. Sounds mean as all getout. Next step is a 2 X 2 1/2" to 3" Y then out the back.
  14. Yes you can do it in 120 hrs. If the others are like myself then that means they only have about 2 or 3 hrs a week to spend on their cars. I think it took me about 130 to do mine and get it on the road. Being a Z tho, I still work on it every week. I think I spent 1/4 that time looking for tools, or fabricating something to make it work. At least 1/4 of the time was spent on wiring.
  15. Advise taken, thanks. I'll give Eddie a call.
  16. I bought these to quiet down the LS1 a bit. These are Magnaflow 2 1/2" pipe size X 4" case X 28" total length (22" muffler zone). Gonna install them tomorrow. Just using the voice test they really muff me out good. The dog's would not come when called through them, so they must work. http://www.circuitflex.com/Magnaflow1.jpg http://www.circuitflex.com/Magnaflow2.jpg
  17. Brad-Man, do you mean Z Cars or Radatz?
  18. Thanks guy's. The stock header gasket is working fine just like yours, but I'm changing over to the copper gaskets for the collector right away and ditching the disposable ones that last an hour. I dont want to have to remove the bolts off of that thing again any time soon. They are hard to reach.
  19. Mine took a year, and that is without a whole lot of the "while I'm at it". Plus it will easily take 3 or 4 more years to get the car to where I want it. Keep in mind that these things usually turn into a multi-segmented project. My plan was to just get it running then work out the bugs, make decisions on the body work and paint, suspension and so on. I think it has served me well as my plans have changed since I got some ride time in this muther.
  20. Looks fragile to me without a grille, but the bumper being gone looks great.
  21. Here's the LS6 ones. http://www.circuitflex.com/LS6E.jpg
  22. How did you guy's seal the headers to the block and how did you seal the collector to the flange? I used the stock steel exhaust gaskets between the headers and the heads, but used a regular exhaust gasket on the collector flange. The collector flange leaks really bad. The Sanderson instructions for the header to head part use black permatex, but no instructions were included for the collector. I called JTR and they said it was a gasketless design but after I got off the phone I realized he was talking about the header to head. OK, so what did you guys do?
  23. Hey, I've got a set of vette exhaust manifolds from an LS6 if you think you can make it fit the Z. Didn't notice you had chimed in there. Which year vette manifolds do you have?
