  1. I like all the cars, what I dont like is the fact that some clueless individual has purchased a fast car as an ego boost. I show some respect for the average hot rodder, but zero for a rich twit. When I blow them off the road I think about my 27 dollar insurance payment and laugh out loud.
  2. I didn't need a parts car. I used a Willwood clutch cylinder, JTR stuff, and Johns cars stuff. I guess that some have the time to deal with it, but I dont have the time so I just spend my hard earned money on new and aftermarket parts to fill in the gaps.
  3. So according to Don Sambrook at the "Sound Deadener Showdown" it appears as though all of the asphalt based deadeners are subject to adhesion failure if the temperature get too hot, like 160 degrees or above for several hours. That included "Brown Bread, Fat Mat, and Dynamat original". The Butyl based products and the butyl with asphalt filler looked like they would be ok. He talked me out of the "Peel and Seal" concept and into the high quality products for lasting results. It only makes sense. I only want to do this once. "Second Skin" deadeners will be my choice.
  4. Seal up the gaps around the licence plate and around the latch on the back. Drive the Z fume free and sell the Bitter.
  5. Maybe we should re-think our goals, is it quality or cost. And what good is a sound deadener if it fails (comes loose) a year after the installation. I was sold on the Brown Bread or Fat Mat for my setup. But today I ran across this site were these products and others are compared. Check it out. http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/
  6. For a point of reference, I paid 4,000 for a 99 with 28,000 about 2 years ago. The 2002 has the LS6 intake, and 241 heads. It might even have an LS6 block, some of the 2002's did.
  7. Try brownbread, it's cheaper than dynamat and is quieter than the McMaster stuff. Here's a link. Do an Ebay search too. http://www.b-quiet.com/
  8. What email address do we use for PayPal payments? PM me please if it's private.
  9. Because the collector flange on the Sanderson headers is loose it makes it hard to get it to seal up. I have gone to the soft aluminum gaskets on mine. They will stay tight for about 500 miles now instead of 50. Maybe this next tighten up session (this weekend) will secure them on finally.
  10. Todo, I don't think were in Kansas anymore! Those look great! It's gonna rock!
  11. Two thing you gotta know in life. 1. When to back down. 2. How to drive a stick.
  12. How do you want us to pay you, paypal?
  13. Mat73GNZ, what year Jetta did those lights come out of?
  14. I agree, I tried them in my TPI with no success, then in a 85 5.0 stang and they failed, had to pull them and replace them with NGK's in both cars. FWIW I run NGK TR55's in the LS1 and they stay clean.
  15. Guess I said "cut it away". That's not the case. Sorry for the confussion. I'm not going to remove the support, just trim it for clearance. I dont think I'll have any flexing issues past the towers since I have a brace across them.
  16. That looks alot like what I'm trying to do with the exception of placement. Mine is going over the radiator. Some metal cutting would be required on the upper radiator support and the belows would have to be extended. The Radiator support isnt a load bearing support on a 78 so I can cut it away and still pull wheelies (like you'll be doing). It look's like the stock hood has enough clearance for that to happen, but I have not tested it yet so dont quote me on it. The MAF will have to go between the Air cleaner and the snorkel and the IAT will have to be inserted into the snorkel. Mine is a 78 280, yours is a 79 so there are many differences so place the snorkel over the radiator mount and see where you have to cut or clearance to make it an over the radiator mount.
  17. Build one yourself. See the link below. http://www.chevyhiperformance.com/techarticles/72978/index.html
  18. Taken from the efilive.com lounge forum. Subject: Pharmacology In Pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and a generic name. For Example, Tylenol also has a generic name of Acetaminophen. Aleve is also Called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called Amoxicillin and Advil is called Ibuprofen. The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, its recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizin, Dixafix, and of course Ibepokin. Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to The names of "****tails", "highballs", and just a good old-fashioned "stiff drink". Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: "Mount & Do".
  19. The Datsun 280Z service manual details how to rebuild the Booster and MC.
  20. I'd rather have the bus in the background. If it didn't run you could at least live in it.
  21. Thoses have been around for ages. Personally I like the other sex's parts better (on someone elses ride, not on me!).
  22. What's wrong with the old ATF injection into the exhaust pipe trick! or a built in potato cannon that fires a small plumbers friend with a sign on it that says "Stupid". Or hey, how about just putting a V8 into a Z and just blowing them off the road!
