  1. Here is Eastwood's video for product application. I moved away from NC back in '95, but still visit friends and family every year so not sure on body work other than this company in Wilmington (National Speed), who did an incredible job on the lime green 240z awhile back. http://nationalspeedinc.com/ I might be able to come up with a few shops around Raleigh, Cary area after asking friends living there.
  2. I have used this product from Eastwood Automotive in every opening I could get the nozzle into in an attempt to stop any rust it would cover. http://www.amazon.com/Eastwood-Internal-Coating-Prevention-Nozzle/dp/B003NTPE9W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1448861405&sr=8-2&keywords=eastwood+internal+frame As you and I well know (born and raised most of my life in NC), you are in the rust belt.
  3. Yeah I was just admiring the front end pic of openness and possibilities it allows. Contemplating something like that for mine now.
  4. Quite awhile ago I ended up buying this combo Modern Motorsports and custom Driveshaft Shop stage 5 axles from this member who was strictly v8 turbo drag race focused. He went this route and shortly changed over to a solid rear axle and sold the parts as a smoking combo deal. He had the Driveshaft Shop custom build the cv axles (900hp claimed), build these from 280zx turbo specs and said they are on file with them. I already had the MM billet companion flanges to finish out the whole setup. 5. Hey Dexter, Like what you have going on here with this swap. Wondering what exhaust manifold you are using?
  6. Love it !! from the custom vented hood to the front difuser which is exactly what I have been envisioning for my front as well since I was influenced by the Lotus Evora front.
  7. '2017, such optimism, ha. Here is all I can find on the Volk 17" so far. http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/products/wheel.php?lang=en&wheel=TE37VSL15
  8. Looking at older videos I noticed these two new ones added by Force Fed Performance. In car driving at 2:11 In car driving at 3:12 I find this very motivating for me to get a move on with my 2JZ build !!
  9. Well it's been awhile since I had anything to add to this build, but managed to get a few more items from the long list of parts to get. I had to move my car from the body/paint guy's garage for a few months to allow him to finish up some small projects he had committed to long before I brought my car over. So back into my storage only garage the car went some two and a half months ago. Hopefully I will be bringing it back around the beginning of the new year. I managed to acquire the custom Wiring Specialties harness as well as the Haltech PS2000 and can't wait to eventually get the engine and harness into the car. Yury at Wiring Specialties was super informative as well as responsive to all my questions and made the purchase super smooth, very pleased with their services. I also bought the Works Bell steering wheel quick release here from member Theatriks which will give me one more way to slow down a would be thief. I then managed to score a super clean and straight '77 vented hood locally. Since I sold the L28ET and the 2JZGTE has the turbo on the passenger side, I will be changing out the custom vented hood I had been working on for the new '77 vented one. Had I not gone 2J and kept the L28et, I was about to weld in the passenger side duct with beveled metal framework around it to complete the smooth "factory like look". I am patiently awaiting for the Dapper Lighting rear led V1 option to become available, and looking at buying a set of 264* cams from either BCrower, Kelford or HKS and springs and retainers. I am also lusting after the recently released Volk TE37v SL wheels in 17" with offsets to work on our cars as seen on the Fugu Z. Don't know if I could custom fit the subtle Z kit to accommodate these much less if 17 x 9.5" would fit up front without rubbing the inner frame at full lock, then there is the cost of these. Most of the other parts to get are big ticket items for my wallet so this build will just have to crawl along at it's current snails pace so I can save up for them. That's about it for now though. Pics included.
  10. In it's title it states "FITS DATSUN 260Z 280Z 2+2 74-78" for a 2+2 which I think would be the difference from 2 seater, but may be wrong.
  11. Saw this video on another car that I really like, Mazda RX3 where the owner mentioned premixing oil with fuel ups at 6:30 into it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNsjQCBPUe0 Then there is this 4 rotor beast.
  12. I'm a little bit at odds with this kit on the S30 as certain angles look nice and aggressive, while other angles just don't work for my eyes. Oddly enough I like this signiture look when it's blended in on other more modern vehicles such as the FRS/BRZ, GTR's, RX7, etc... I am mostly excited to see, (Big TE37 Fan), the Volk TE37V SL in a (17"x 9.5, 10, 10.5") 4 bolt to fit our cars. After watching all the videos and searching for more technical build facts, the best I came up with is the front tires are Nitto 235/40/zr17" on the 9.5" rims. I am wondering if they incur any inner frame rubbing with the 9.5's in the front when completely turned.
  13. ^^^ Please provide us with some video of that engine screaming through the gears!!!!
  14. Love this build!, and it's coming along at a good pace. Where did you get the vented inspection doors from? I had MSA do mine many years ago, but they only had 4 vents added to them.
  15. Z-ya, your car looks great with that color, what is the paint code? Or custom color?
  16. I am looking for similar hp range and was told as far as Precision turbos go, the 6262 was what I would be looking for. I have not definitively decided on a turbo yet, but am looking at Precision, Garrett, Borg Warner or a billet, ball bearing option from a local company Pure Turbo.com.
  17. Thanks, but there is still a lot of work still left to do. The rear spoiler is a imsa style three piece that was reworked and blended. From a straight on rear view the original cuts were canted out to the sides, so we re fiber glassed and cut the slats straight.
  18. Speaker setup looks great ssparko. Glad to see 275" in the rear. I will be using the group buy 17 x 9.5" Rota's and if they don't quite fit I have the smooth, rivetless zg flares from MSA that I will blend in or just custom make the subtlez's fit. Still up in the air until I get the damn car moving again with the body/paint guy. Here is my current "work in state of stall" on the day I had to remove it from the body guy's garage for a few months.
