  1. Kids: I'll be selling my jci kit soon as I'll be building my own motor mounts. Keep in touch.
  2. Got a quote back from Howe on the radiator. 385 bones with AN fittings all around (not sure if i'll go that way yet as the hoses are BIG money). I'm going to put off ordering it until I get the snail mounted (be here tomorrow!!!) so I can for sure get my outlets where they need to go.
  3. Are you kidding? The TH400 is a staple of the American Transmission Category. You bolt them together! You will need a spacer for the crank unless its an iron-headed 6.0L (rare), as they have a longer snout. SO: crank spacer (simple search) flex plate, stall, bolts, drive it.
  4. Got a little done tonight. Built a radiator and intercooler out of some foam I had laying around. This further reinforced the need to cut out some core support. Here it is after the bottom half of the core support has been removed. As you can see, this really opens up the engine bay. I'll likely end up cutting it all out, and making a new one out of sheet metal. This will also go over the radiator in the rear, and become the shroud for the E fan to mount to. That is the current plan anyway. I also made an intercooler out of foam. Use your imagination.
  5. LOL RIIIIIIGHT. Yes, I bought a Magnafuel. Its boost referenced 1:1 (rises 1 psi per psi boost)
  6. Don't need a knee bar for an unmodified firewall, with 8.50 or higher ET.
  7. Going to tap for pipe / AN fittings. Car gets driven in the cold too, so the heat stays.
  8. I still vote for a look at the springs. Have you tried turning the boost down to see what it does? I can just about guarantee you those springs were never meant to deal with the cylinder pressures you're creating. I'm by far no expert on this, just a top down view.
  9. Kudo's to you. I'll just stick to paying someone to do a good job, balance it, and stand behind their work.
  10. I guess I don't understand. All the specs are on their website....?
  11. Yeah, I'm a little un-sure on that as of now. But I know about a dozen cars locally that have used them from 20-28 psi, without a single issue. Kinda like everyone being all gung-ho about replacing rod bolts to spin high RPM. I never bought it, and after talking with several knowledgeable individuals, I spun my STOCK BOTTOM ls1 to 7,000 rpm every time I drove it, and it loved every minute of it for the last 20K miles (still runs fine!). .....And then theres all those 8 second cars with stock bottom everything...... I'm just not looking to throw money where I don't have to.
  12. I get this awesome visual of Keith just SLAMMIN' gears on his way to work in this thing. LMAO
  13. First post updated with tentative parts list. Started makin moves tonight! Using the ol hose clamp trick to get a straight cut. Passenger's side. Non-egr pass. truck mani flipped and chopped. Front view. Might take a little more off to straighten it out some more. Threw in a piece of 4" as reference for downpipe. The perfect spot for this would be right where the JCI motor mount is.... That would take it out of the path of my heater hoses. Driver's side. Pass. truck mani flipped and chopped.
  14. BOOOO NX all the way!! Haha I'm biased though - NX has always treated me right.
  15. Don't forget to mention that the DA was almost 800' BELOW sea level ! You lucky bastards! I never get to race when the air is that nice! What turbo is that btw?
  16. The 240 hubs are scalloped, so there is no way that would work. The 280 hubs are round, but they're actually thicker where the studs come through, and machined flat on the back side. I'm sure theres a way to do it, but safely? No. Just get yourself some Z31 front hubs if you want 5 lug. EDIT: This should be in the brakes, wheels, tires, suspension forum btw.
  17. I will be going with a single. Hardly big, but it will be a 7875 turbonetics ball bearing unit.
  18. I wish people would make mirror image turbos for someone other than Nelson Racing. They make setups look sooo much cleaner. I like the brace btw. Should do the job!
  19. I'm setting my goals low. Promise low, deliver high. Thats good business! They will be going on the wall of my garage for the time being. Don't want to cut them loose just yet. I'd love to have an N/A car again at some point. Well it will be a learning experience for me, as I've never personally built anything boosted.
  20. Respectfully, no you don't. I have several local friends that have hydraulic roller LS engines that turn 8200 rpm every weekend at the strip. My last combo saw 7000 every time I drove it, zero issues. The above mentioned engines were NA and Nitrous, so a fair amount of cylinder pressure. What springs are you using? The Brian Tooley racing springs seem to be about the best thing on the market as far as a stock- replacement go.
  21. Hoping to make around 700 to the tire on E85.
  22. Well I'll give you a little insight; I'll have less than $1000 new money invested into this thing when I'm done, after selling all the old parts. This will by no means be a bare bones build, either. Why NOT make more power than I did on nitrous, and do it all the time?
