  1. Total crap on his hp claims. If it is really stroked though then its a deal just for the machine work and parts. If it's a stock L28 then I wouldn't gamble that much money on it. You can pull a long block out of a junker for like $300
  2. Completely slipped my mind. I forgot the valves in the later engines are a little longer as well.
  3. You can swap any head to any L-series block, just make sure you get the right head gasket. I believe the gasket should be matched to the block. I'm assuming you want to stick with the n47 because of fuel injection parts?
  4. You can get them here: http://mckinneymotorsports.com/prod_240+260+280Z+parts These should work for any rwd sr20
  5. I ran without them. Never had an issue with them not running. if I rememer my s30 correctly, the socket is within the headlight bucket, so it's really just the wires. If you're paranoid or go offroading then put like 3 looms over the wiring and silicone/hot glue the joints were it goes through to the headlight and fender
  6. Not gonna work, the s130 is wider and boxier shaped than the s30. if its the xenon then it's the urethane so it's really not gonna work. If it was a fiberglass I'd say it could be molded to work, but still none of the body lines will fit
  7. You mean something like this? https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/abs-plastic-brake-duct-abs-duct They make those all over the place. a local speed shop had some for like $5 a piece. Good rectangular brake duct vent
  8. That looks like an r180. The rear case seems more rectangular than square.
  9. Just get a non egr intake. Only vacuum ports you need are fpr, brake booster, BCCD, and PCV. There are no negatives to an AC delete. Mine never worked so I deleted everything in the bay for it.
  10. Looks euro, French flag Intec background and la grande in the background.
  11. And that's why I brought it to a drivetrain shop. They inspected Subie diff after I bought it and changed the pinion flange for free. Worked fine for 5k miles before my ZX got parked in the garage
  12. That sounds completely reasonable to me for where you are. I parted out my turbo for that much, minus the trans. But if you have a good trans you can always try and haggle for it without. Or just buy it all and sell the trans for $100-150
  13. Only Ferrari I want is a testarossa, white like Miami vice. Those are down in price, but finding a good example is hard. Are you part of the Ferrari club now, or since it was a private sale do you/ are you going to need to register?
  14. Ive also used them to do a quick rebuild on an l28. Using all stock components, and after all the machine work and rebuilding, they charged me a little less than $1900, which I though was reasonable. But I have also bartered z parts with them in exchange for work or labor which was nice.
  15. I brought them an engine in a truck bed (long block) and everything else in the truck of the zx. It was just to pit the pieces back together, I think a few pieces were missing that they sourced for high prices ( relative to me now knowing how to get parts now) and they did all the fluids, bled the lines and basically made sure the car was road worthy.
  16. It's not. Art owns it, Sev was a tech that came on after another tec passed away. That was almost 3 if not 4 years ago now. I've had no issues with them, but that was when mike was there. They do charge a lot, but i learned that when I asked them to install an engine in my ZX and it cost $2000.
  17. It's easily worth it, you can part it out for easily double that. I would refresh the engine anyway. I bought my turbo parts car for $600, parted it all out for $1300 and kept all the turbo parts to turbo my NA engine....
  18. Tony D, I'm not surprised about your shenanigans. I shall look for the RR crossing. I'm curious why you were out there though, I only really remember seeing Rockwell and the Quaker Oats factory. I'm not really worried about getting parts. It specifically a shop that has experience tuning with dynos and everything. If I can't find anything I'm just gonna be spending a lot of time learning...
  19. That looks like a 240sx S13/s14 trans (with the rectangular plate on top ) and an older datsun trans. Someone may have frankenstiened a newer transmission together. I think you guys had the SR20's over there that could explain that. Good news is that I think the driveshaft will work as long as its the correct length. Could be wrong I can't remember if mine fit or not.
  20. Yeah the 315 size has pretty much taken over. So you go from 275 to 315. I knot nitto makes the nt05's in 315
  21. So I'm going to be moving to cedar rapids this summer for a job. First thing that I'm worried about is lack of a tuning shop or parts store that can get stuff for imports, specifically SR20 related stuff (both my s13 and Datsun are/will be SR powered). Would any locals care to chime in? I figure Iowa city would be a little bit bigger also, so I'm going to look there for some places.
  22. Normally people need to redrill an SR bellhousing to make the KA tranny fit, so it will probably dimensionally fit, but I doubt there are guides on where to redrill. KA trannies are a dime a dozen anyway. Any tranny from 89 to 98 will work.
  23. As far as I know all s130 tanks are the same coupes and 2+2's, the sending unit may be different, but you can swap your 79 one in.
