  1. Wow I did not know that new england states are that strict. I knew about the inspections in New jersey, but I thought it was all mechanical, not superficial.
  2. What is the diameter on those things? and are they single speed or mutliple speeds.
  3. Body welding is not an essential unless your car is breaking in half. Do you weld? You'll save a lot of money if you can weld up your own exhaust, my friend literally made one by going to exhaust shops and getting their scrap pipes and welding it himself. Carbs shouldn't cost you more than $200 complete. and hardlines can be bent for like $50 for every hardline if you do it yourself. Making this stuff pretty and cleaning up/ buying new parts (like the hardline retainers for example) are what really kill the budget.
  4. Yeah the stock cam won't be happy with the stiffer springs. Also you would need to check your old rockers make sure none of them have any wear and tear. It is totally possible to reuse old rockers so that will save you some cash. I believe MSA sells cam kits for $700-800. Now if you're just gathering parts then call up schnieder.

  7. I would save another couple hundred and go with some used Stance coilovers. Then again I got my Kei office coilovers for about $500, but they are old (not blown though). In the $600 price range you could easily find some megans or something though. Up to you.

  10. Some L24 rods come with 9mm rod bolts which are stronger and they are also longer.They are used to build stroker engines. You won't be able to use them in the L28 without machine work, but you can sell them for a decent amount.

  12. You can find a set of used S13 coilovers and do the same exact thing you would with the ksport kit. Mightymaxx had a good write up on how he used megan s13 coilovers.
  13. I've parked on plenty of inclines with my car just in gear, but I also carry a wheel stop in the car that I use in serious mountain areas like San Diego. I know plenty of guys that daily with a welded diff. Not my cup of tea (I would never do it) but its possible. As for the cold start valve. I had a plate cut out of steel and just used rtv as a gasket. For a while I just used a rubber line with a screw in it to block the fuel line, but I did this knowing I would be getting a fuel rail.

  15. Dude you need to try and hit up someone parting out a ZX and ask them to cut out some rust free floor pans. There are at least 3 emembers on this forum that regularly part out ZX's
  16. I use Redline MT90 in my tranny. A little harsh, but once it warms up its good. I would also delete the cold start valve to clear up the engine bay. I've been driving without a rear brake for about a year and a half now. I just put it in gear when I park. If you're "drifting" on your open dif, your more than likely damaging it. Go get it welded for cheap or find an LSD. Put up more pics when you post

  18. The "p90" header has egr and an o2 port. Which he doesn't have. Im running a non egr, no 02 poet header with a p90 head. I had an o2 bung welded on in the collector. So no dont buy a "p90" header, get a e88 header which doesn't have the ports that you won't use.

  21. I would go 2.5" piping. Yes the P90 head has square ports like an e88 so it will fit. I was acuatally using a square port header on my f54/P90 L28.
  22. Just make sure you use everything associated with the ZX tranny, meaning the collar more than anything. You could probably easily make your money back by parting out the ZX if it has an engine and the suspension isn't hit (not talking about the struts and springs, I mean control arms and strut tubes.
  23. Looking good lowrider, what suspension do you have? and are you using some slip on spacers? and finally what tire size?
