  1. Not yet, thats my plan for hte weekend since I start classes tomorrow
  2. I spent an hour pulling off the panels to clean all the contacts to the blower motor, still no go. Then out of nowhere I hit my elbow on the fuse box in the passenger foot rest are and boom it started working. The fuse was lose or corroded or something. I hate when stuff like that happens
  3. So I got my rear passenger side wheel bearings replaced and she is back on the road. This is the inner bearing, completely fubar: And this is the outer bearing. It was seized and would not budge at all: There was no grease present at all. My mechanic thinks that since the inner bearing imploded, the heat burned up all the grease. On another note my heater stopped working. I think the blower motor fuse blew.
  4. Agree with rejracer. I actually had top end performance (racetep.com) rebuild my carbs. They ran amazing after that. BUT I have heard that there customer service is lacking sorely for people that they ship to. Just google reviews about them.
  5. get some racketing straps and loop them around the engine a few times. I lifted my engine/tranny out using the hook in the front and like 3 of the intake/exhaust bolt holes like how newzed is talking about.
  6. Wiring. My roommate picked a camaro up and it looked like a monkey did the wiring in and around the engine bay. I know this is not a normal thing that happens but you never know. Also there was some weird heater hose crap near the passenger rear of the engine bay that kept leaking on my friends car.
  7. I just deleted the Mechanical pump on my 260z and ran a cheapo low pressure electric fuel pump in the spot heroez is talking about without changing any wiring. It feed triple webers with no problems.
  8. No you match the clutch and throwout bearing. If you get a fidanza it won't matter what size you go(225 or 240)
  9. I love the cleanup after a project has been up on jacks for months. It just feels...completed. Although yours isn't driving yet.
  10. If you're not making a ton of power, get the 225mm. You can get the 240mm unit if you want. Its got enough grip and it weighs lighter and will make it feel more responsive. The fidanza unit is made with a 240mm surface and you can just run the 225mm on it. I am currently running the fidanza with an exedy stage 1 240mm clutch on my 280zx, very streetable. Just remember this: "- A Zcar 5-speed will fit on any year Z block and any year L28 clutch can be used. But the throwout bearing "collar" must match the style of the flywheel (coupe or 2+2). In other words, if you have a 2+2 flywheel, you need to change the throwout collar to a 2+2 version. A coupe flywheel uses a coupe collar." taken from: http://datsunzgarage.com/engine/ One last thought is if you aren't running AC you could get a damper with less rows.
  11. PM slownrusty. He knows exactly what to do.
  12. Every time you shorten a wire, you will create a physically weak spot in the wire. It could separate from a car that is too stiff etc. Also there is a human error factor. If wiring ain't your thing I would not mess with it
  13. Fuel pump is not connected to the ECU, that's a harness problem. probably your ignition switch could be stuck or something. The no spark cold be a dead coil. Are you using the NA coil or the turbo one? You can get away with the NA coil for now.
  14. Can you get a side or front pic with the mudguards?
  15. I started off with Zcar 5 years ago, but info was hard to get and keep tract of, other than searching, and there were so many stupid posts....Hybridz is just...better. It seems the most of people who do have valuable input there are on here also, so I just stay here now mostly. What are future plans? stock engine, suspension etc?
  16. Very nice work, I've been following your thread on ZCar. Make a build thread on this site.
  17. Plug in the ECU, plug the ECU harness to that and everything should have connectors. If its a stock swap. If you can unplug the NA ECU and harness and hook ikt right up again, you can do the Turbo harness. Are you planning on deleting anything? maybe pics of what you need figured out.
  18. You could let it sit on ebay and maybe a collector will want it. Or you could do a quick sale and get rid of it fast. If you are patient enough you could probably get 10k on ebay. For the record I would never be that stupid to pay for a Z. 5k would be my limit for a decent running Z that's all one color.
  19. After getting it up on a lift and taking the cover off, I found out its the pas. side wheel bearing. Thanks guys
  20. I am in dire need of an r180 with axles for my 280zx. Mine took a **** on me on the home stretch of my cross country trip. My number is 818-919-4242. I will pay for you to deliver. I'm currently in Port Orange FL. I do not care about ratio, cheaper the better. I need this ASAP so I'd rather do local.
  21. Why aren't there pictures of your car up yet?
  22. Yeah I should add that I used about 6 of my cans were a grey primer layer. I stripped it down to bare metal.
