  1. There is no timing belt on an L28 engine. It may be something with the cold start injector, but either way if it runs when its warm then its all good. Suspension can be had for less than $1000 (tokico hp shocks, springs, MSA swaybar kit and urethane bushings). A new front lip, the basic one that every s130 seems to have is $200 new from MSA, I sold my old scrappy looking one for $60 I run a full 2.5in system no cat to an hks Hi power, cost me $100 for the hi power, $300 for the coated headers, and $150 for the piping plus welding. Rims and tires are up to you, Go with some 16x8 rims and tires choices are plentiful and cheap. Paint is also up to you. Power, if you want it, ditch the stock efi. But in my opinion, the stock hp is decent when you're driving a car weighing less than 2600lbs. It just feels sluggish off the line because it is, and the stock cams powerband is not that big and loses power after 5500rpm
  2. Yeah I have one also no glass or rust with the emblem holes. Shipping will be a pain though.
  3. What kind of car? and was it an autozone crap brand fpr? and when you say bar do you really mean 1 bar or 1 psi?
  4. why would you drive at night without lights? Also did you pull out one of the bulbs to see if it just plain burnt out? You should probably look into getting a relay made for the headlights anyway since it will make it much brighter.
  5. If you have a hookup at a machine shop, if you can make it yourself, or if you make a bulk order and sell the rest off is probably the only way you'd be getting them cheaper in my opinion. Go to a machine shop and ask around though. If you really think about $90 for one machined piece of metal and the pillow ball already setup is a pretty cheap price. It cost me $100 per top hat to have a custom rear set made for my 280zx to use s13 coilovers.
  6. Its what pulls the clutch pedal back. You answered your own question
  7. Weird it says all aluminum and then in the product description it says plastic. I would order a champion one or a stock one before that one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-1971-1972-1973-1974-1975-Datsun-240Z-260Z-3-Row-Aluminum-Radiator-/160667503671?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A240Z&vxp=mtr&hash=item2568878c37#ht_5642wt_1270
  8. That is pretty sweet and the price is really good
  9. Yup its the same style cage, and the write is a cage from BDracing I think
  10. You could also fill it with that hard resin stuff that people use to adapt like beer taps and stuff and redrill it.
  11. Its part of the rear deck carpet, so you would need to basically get a new one that's cut to fit to the area underneath. I don't think the stock carpet would fit at all(it would be to long).
  12. It does nothing for stiffness. Its held in with like 6 screws. you can fit 6.5" speakers in it, although I'm planning on having a small speaker box built to put mine in. I threw mine away.
  13. I didn't even think the stock efi would be able to run with those. I've heard of people putting turbo 280zx turbo injector(260-270cc iirc) and it would really mess with their engines. Also you can buy a set of stock injectors for like $40 so just find a set
  14. Its expensive, you should have gotten quotes before. UPS will rape you, it is about half the price going through UPSP. They will kill you on size also, so if you can fit it into a bunch of smaller boxes it should actually be cheaper than a big box with all the stuff in it.
  15. From JDM land they have some: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSAN-DATSUN-FAIRLADY-Z-432-240z-240-Z-EMBLEM-NEW-/370547890010#ht_2158wt_1165
  16. On stock efi or megasquirt?
  17. It's not worth it unless you want "hey look what I got" points
  18. I feel like you should read this, if you really want to make the most of a turbo that size you're gonna need some lower CR numbers. Anyway this thread is about exactly what you want to do. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/82371-my-notes-on-the-na-l28-to-turbo-swap/
  19. Yeah that's a deal, if everything is in working condition. If you buy it and find out the MS is fried then you're sol.
  20. I was driving a pretty much stock 280zx, no real engine mods, just a rebuilt engine and I had a ton of fun with it. I was getting like 25-27 mpg on the freeway and 23-25mpg city on stock size tires and I took it cross country to school(from Los Angeles to Daytona Beach FL) 3 times with absolutely no issues what so ever. Once in the middle of summer(110 degrees through the desert) and 2 times in the winter. I've even taken it up in the mountains a few times to go snowboarding. I even towed a full small trailer cross county once. Compared to my triple webered 260z it felt comparatively slow, but it was a car that I wouldn't think twice about hopping in and going to vegas for the weekend. When I put it together it was just connect the wires and it started up, not difficult at all.
  21. The dealer did not do that. IF you plan on painting the engine bay same as the car then you might as well take it off while the engine is out and like you said you don't/won't know the condition of the metal underneath until it's off.
  22. That is heartbreakikng. Like leon said, the next one will be better.
