  1. For what its worth, I was running triples an E88( nearly identical to a N42) on a freshly rebuilt flat top F54 with webbers, stage 4 cam from MSA, and headers. I had to back off timing a little, but not that much. It seemed fine for me. I only had it for a year before I sold it though. Just to through it out, with the money I spent on the rebuild and webers, I could have had a nice turbo setup.
  2. I did like 3 coats. Took about 15 cans.
  3. Wow that big type R looks amazing. I just ordered one from 1 tuff Z so I'll see how that one fits.
  4. Fronts are 225/50/16 rears are 265/45/16. I believe I paid $550-600 to have the rims shipped to my door. If my car was more of a daily, I would go 16x8 all around and only run 225/50/16 tires. Its cheaper and I can rotate tires. I do not regret getting these sizes, but when I get new rear tires I'm going to go with some 245/50/16s tires becasue they are about $70 cheaper.
  5. "The car runs just fine on 91, providing the turbo does not spool up, then it will start to stumble" That engine is trashed and he wants to offload it before it really does blow up.
  6. The infamous Vacuum leak(s)..... somewhere. Check all the rubber hoses Is this a 100% stock conversion? or did you add stuff?
  7. Pics as promised: Here are my dual cigarette lighters, probably the best thing I could ever do. Here are the lower rad mounts, bad pic I know, but my friend just welded some metal stock with a hole in it and used the muffler hanger as the rubber insert. Took a while for my high beams because I had to get my friend to use molex connectors. We used a different harness than the one that came from MSA Here is a current pic of my engine bay. Part of my Fuel line is not SS because I had originally run it dead end style, but that was choking the engine so we ran it with the FPR after the rail.
  8. Ok so I did a few more things: Installed a second cigarette lighter, just daisy chained wires from the first one. Now I can use my GPS and a car charger for my cross country trip. Also when I was driving around with my GPS my speed is a little off I know its from the higher 4.11 diff instead of the stock 3.54. at 75 my car is really going 70, so its not that bad. Secondly I brought my car to a welder to have the lower mounts for my radiator installed with rubber exhaust hanger things. Pics will come later. And lastly I got my friend off his lazy ass to wire in my high beams. I was only running lows for like 2 weeks.
  9. Woohoo a ZX. You should be rocking a mullet and stache
  10. Check out how it runs in the car. If its detonating then no its a horrible deal. I would be very wary of an untuned high compression turbo L series motor.
  11. Are you running carbs or EFI? Stock or highly modded....Any basic rebuild will cost around $1000 for a full longblock( unless you assemble it all yourself) If you want high comp you need to use flattops and stick with the L28 rods.
  12. My s13 collars were a little lose( like you could shake and hear a rattle) but once you locked them in place they stay in place. I think you got strut tubes that are a little big, early s30's have a smaller dia. tube. Found the measurements, courtesy of JohnC So if they are 2in ID then they should fit snugly.
  13. I think its a good job, just not my cup of tea
  14. Anything is repairable. I would probably be looking for parts car to chop off a wheel well. Did you not have a bumper on?
  15. Lose alternator wire, or a dying alternator. Could be your cold start injector just stopped working. In my ZX when I first start it up for the day it idles low and will stall, but after it goes through the warm up it runs fine and has no idle issues.
  16. Fronts are the same, 16x8 4" of backspacing( -13 offset) Rears are 16x10 5.5" of backspacing ( 0 offset) They are pretty close to the fender lining. My next set of tires I'll probably put a 245/50/16 on and get some small spacers, like 6mm. But yes they don't poke out and look lame anymore.
  17. Its like a lighter version of the burnt/sunset orange the 350z's came in. Almost. I like it.
  18. The 6-2 will probably fit closer to the block, but because of the Y pipe that is comes with it would be better, IMO, to get the single 6-1. The sound depends much more on the muffler/piping. Looks into getting a stud kit and full exhaust done since its probably rusty also.
  19. Same. I loved my 2+2. It was sorta starting to look good. The front is a major area that needs to be fixed. Side skirts help too, and a spoiler to finish it off. I like PPK's car becasue he got a lip that still uses the front bumper, and looks good. And some fat wheels just look boss.
  20. I used the regular length one so I don't know about the slims. Only problem with the fat one was that it put the steering wheel way to close to me. The slim version will help. Didn't brake on me for 2 years and ended up selling it.
  21. You can buy a momo hub from MSA, its like $80. Then get an NRG slim quick release. It will bolt up.
  22. Possible that you got a faulty new thermostat. Happened once to me.
