  1. Looks like a good clean install! Gotta love the mandrel bends and stainless tubing to boot. Let us know what your times are when you go to the track. Davy
  2. Yeah, I'd do the same as you: keep those in my bed and sleep with them too. Sure are purdy. Davy
  3. Ah yes, I had not noticed the dual exhausts. The hood is a TR7 hood; I believe the TR8 has an extra 'power bulge.' This may be a V6 swap or something like that. They are cool cars, RWD and everything. If I were to do one, I'd redo the electrics. Davy
  4. It's a Triumph TR7. I had one once. I was going to do a Chevy V6 swap (John's cars makes a kit for this) but decided against it since I could get a Z and do a V8 swap for as much money but get better power and have a better car (IMO). Most old British cars have Lucas electrics, something you'd rather not get to know... A friend in college had a TR8 (215 ci Rover V8). It was fast, but not furious like a V8Z. Davy
  5. *GASP* It's big! (understatement of the century) Have fun twisting the Z in half! Davy
  6. ..and low compression can only mean one thing: BOOST! Davy
  7. Mark, how about "Nearly ruined Cutlass for sale." I'd drive with a set a Centerline Convo Pros and only if Frito Lay (or whatever company) paid for the paint, otherwise Chester cheeta be damned. Davy
  8. Answered correctly---super! I'd take someone like that over another who can't spell or use any punctuation to save his life!!! Davy
  9. Personally, I would not spend time building the motor, although a cam change is extremely easy to do, but just install it in the car and mod later once you have all the bugs sorted out in the swap AND chassis. You see, there are so many little things to take care of that people forget about them and then get lost in building and engine while the Z sits and rots... ...people like me for instance Davy
  10. ...and they fill out your fender wells just perfectly too Gotta love that look!!!! Davy
  11. You got the ticket for no rear bumper because your car ain't pretty yet (not painted), plus you can see the holes and at least one bracket back there. If you car was painted and the holes filled, I don't think they would bug you about it, which leads me to my next point about ride height. Yes, there is a minimum height that your car must sit according to CA law. Most cops don't even think about ride height, especially with a NICE custom car. The rougher the car, the more cops look at it to find something wrong. On the flip side, the more loud the graphics on your car, the more cops look at that too... Both extremes invite the police to take a look. Davy
  12. Ben, the 240Z wheel adapters are typically an inch or so wide. The ZX adapters are at least 1.5" thick. So will they work? The answer is "they won't make the wheel look right on the car." This is assuming normal Honda FWD offset. I have seen the Modern-Motorsports.com adapters and they are quality pieces and made for the car with the correct thickness. Davy
  13. Looks great! I have the same pic in the gunmetal and the flames are a nice touch. Davy
  14. One of them is for the electric antenna, assuming you have one. I had something like one of the two near each other and it was for a manual override for the electric antenna. Perhaps the other is for some fog lights which are no longer on the car. Sometimes you can trace the location of the wiring to a certain part of the chassis and then find out what they go to from there. Davy
  15. Thanks for posting that---all this information become invaluable for someone in the same situation at some point in time. Davy
  16. Excellent solution, ThomasZ!! Davy
  17. Ah, that makes sense. I like the larger ones in the back as well, but this is what was available at the time and I'm not too disappointed. At least they are quite a bit thicker than some that I have come across in the past. Davy
  18. I agree. They are already in that position. By stealing the truck back, they have gone way too far. The guy has a ligitimate contract signed by both parties. Even if the dealership never handed in the paperwork to the DMV, the guy still has his copy of the contract. Now if they sell the truck as well, they have further compounded their liability---now they have knowingly sold stolen property. Man, this situation keeps getting better and better! Davy
  19. The dealership is not only SOL, but the buyer has a very nice lawsuit against them. I'm thinking he'll basically have a free car! Should be fun! Davy
  20. I believe they are from the same manufacturer. They are the same as the group buy we did over 1 year ago from Classic Datsun. Do you hate the fit? What? BTW, Nice wheels J! Davy
  21. They make a good swap candidate for a Ford 302. I have always liked them; too bad they are nearly extinct. I just never see them around anymore. Davy
  22. You can have them custom made. Spacers should not need to be too expensive. I know Ross at Modern-Motorsports.com can have just about any spacer fabbed up. Did you measure just how far they need to be pushed out---there are practical limits to these things... EDIT: 2.5 inches for the rear....maybe too wide to be safe. You may want to go with a wider rim & more negative offset. Davy
