  1. Wayne, Is the motor built by Bill Mitchell? I used to get his magazines (catalogs?) years ago. Looks like quality stuff and a well done conversion. I'm sure you'll boil the hides despite their width. Post seom videos when you do It'll be good for us BTW, is that another Z next to it? Can't wait for one project to get done before starting another? Man, you rock. Davy
  2. Way to go, Vinh I liked the "check tire pressure" read on the speedo--made me laugh. Good job! Davy
  3. Make sure the sunroof doesn't leak---it'll cause rust in areas you never dreamed. I hated my sunroof (moonroof actually) that I had a bodyshop patch the roof with a new metal skin. Ah, no more leaks from the crappy weatherstrip. If it doesn't leak, you're good to go there. Davy
  4. Me too! Man, that's a serious looking Monte and I like the flames a lot. The white and silver motif is subtle, yet still classy but edgy as well. Whoever designed the flames did one heck of a job... Davy
  5. Judging by the tremendous amount of quality fabrication on Terry's car and the fact that he is an engineer, I seriously doubt he would put himself or his car at risk. I don't think a couple of pictures is enough to tell the whole story here, and he may not even be done yet with the project. Davy
  6. Ah, good stuff, Ernie. It doesn't matter if it was posted before, the Alsa site gets a bit better and they get more products we can be aware of. I really like the Mirra Chrome paint---looks like polished aluminum. Davy
  7. Why doesn't the city just bury the lines in the ground? It's the best way IMO. Many old neighborhoods out here have actually removed the above ground lines and have new ones buried. No mess, no smell. Davy
  8. Wow, you didn't disappoint either! The dash looks great! Strange idea turns out to be one that absolutely rocks; go figure. I think you got your money's worth, friend! Davy
  9. Err, not for the US from all of the information that I have read---where did you read this or hear about this? I think this is interesting although I rather doubt it. Perhaps a Canadian model would have had it this way?? You never know. They made the 260 for years in Europe after discontinuing the model in the US. I had a early model 1974 260Z with small (240Z) bumpers. The car was essentially a 240Z with a 2.6L engine. The later 1974 260Zs came with 280Z bumpers because the cars themselves are essentially 280Zs with a carburated 2.6L engine. The 280Z models which came right after that in the US were all fuel injected. Davy
  10. The main man himself: Bruce Lee. Davy
  11. Bob, You can look up what posts you have made (and anyone else for that matter) in the forum. You can look it up by person or subject matter. Here is the link to your thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114023 Davy
  12. Vinh, Yours was the car I immediately thought of when this thread was posted. I remembered the yellow car's shaved back end, but I could not remember whose site I saw it on. Thanks for posting the link above. Nice work on the sweet blue car and the new LS1 work as well. Keep it up! Davy
  13. The link is good. The track pictures are in daylight and are best. Are you saying you cannot see them? http://www.reactionresearch.com/Fisher%20Firebird/index.htm Davy
  14. Yep, sometimes all we need is a little direction and we've arrived. Just think things through and do your research. BTW, a FSM, even from Pep Boys or Kragen can really help things. I use FSMs all the time since I'm not tremendously astute in automotive repair. Where else do you get torque settings and the like? FSM!! Davy
  15. I think you'll have to fill out a "statement of facts" for the DMV and you'll have to pay some reg fees, but that's about it I believe. As long as it does not show up on the computer, I think you're OK. Does it have a rear license plate? I'd get some kind of sales receipt from the guy who sells it to you, just to show the DMV in case they ask. It's a '75 so there should not be any smog check required and the car looks decent despite the dirt & grime. If worse comes to worse, you can part it out for much more money than you bought it for. Davy
  16. On any car I have owned that had electrical problems, they could almost always be traced back to the ground wire(s). This may or may not be a problem for you, but you must have good clean battery cables and the ground must be to your chassis and your motor. Sometimes all the other ancillary problems are caused by something as painfully simple as this. Who knows, it may be worth a shot? Davy
  17. Remember to log in once in a while to keep your status at this site. The system will drop you after a number of months (?) and you'll regret it coming back here as another soul! You'll be missed. Davy
  18. Simply increadible pictures of the car; looks awesome! You pulled the build together faster than anyone I can think of. Not only that, but you do some quality work to be proud of. Great! Davy
  19. Extremely well said, Strotter. You've broken the "swap" down into the things that really do drain the pocket book. And you are correct: the OEM stuff for the restoration portion can get expensive, and so can body and paint like Pete just brought up. I'm doing my best to squeak by with less than what some of you have done, but still have a great car. It can be done, it just takes time, some money, and skill. I may be 60 when I finish Davy
  20. Nice looking! I'm sure it will have performance to match Davy
  21. I bought mine from *gasp* MSA. It was great looking from the get go and looked great even after a few years. I sold the car a few years later so I'm not sure how it is now, but I suspect it still looks good. Remember: full dash cap. Davy
  22. Got mine too! Thanks a bunch for the generous supply! Davy
