  1. Eh, I just sold two Starion seats for $25.00 on Craigslist. I had NO emails at $50, so I had to lower the price. The guy that bought it was very greatful and new what the seats were to a 'T'. He told me the history of them, dates of manufacture and was impressed with my low price due to the relative rarity of the cloth (not cracked leather) seats in decent condition. For him it was nearly too good to be true, but for me I just wanted them gone. Now I have more room in my garage and some lotto money too (j/k about the lotto) Davy
  2. I think the peppermint extract burns them like fire--they can feel it, but it won't (or shouldn't kill) them. It's a great idea of you only want them out of the house. I want the ants around here gone, not just out of the house. I use malathion despite it being illegal here. I figure its just 'New Old Stock' that I can get away with. At least the stuff works. Davy
  3. LOL, that was too cool. looks like you guys had a ton of fun. Man, you're pretty good at wheelies. I couldn't do circles like that when I was a kid, let alone now. Happy 4th of July! Davy
  4. Man, you have really been through it all these past few weeks. I seriously hope your health improves dramatically right away with NO MORE surprises along the way (unpleasant ones anyway). Take care, Pete! Davy
  5. The Blackhawk Z meet had a 240Z equipped with those mirrors---he had them coming from the chrome strip at the base of the window on the door--very cool, but I have no idea how rigid that is. I never thought those would look good on the Z until that car... Auxilary was supposed to have downloaded those pics into Datsunracing.com, but I think he hasn't done it yet (can't find the pic). Davy
  6. I thought you basically stole the car for the price you bought it for. Nice work in getting bigger meats under the fenders--looks all business now. You can get a body shop to color match your airdam or just get a black one---either way it will look good. You leaving the engine alone or what? Davy
  7. I clicked on the sig link and it came up with a white Z car--fairly standard looking, with black wheels and some graphics. It's clean, but not a flared out eye-popper. Davy
  8. He has a lot into that machine and even a 3.36 rear LSD! Looks like a good car for the money. Davy
  9. http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/keywordsearch.asp They have what's under the opening if you want to duct the air somewhere in particular. I'm still looking for something that looks the business on top... Davy
  10. I'm sure it is better than the original Scarab mounts, at least from what I saw from the pictures of the kit; the mounts look very very strong. The placement looks to be about the same as the Scarab mounts, but it's difficult to tell. Thanks for posting the progress pics! Looks like you are well on your way to "getting 'er done!" Davy
  11. My wife and I were went to Farrari of Los Gatos yesterday and low and behold, they opened an Aston Martin dealership across the street. NICE cars! I still liked the Lotus Exige they had despite all the Ferraris, Astons, and Lamborghini's available. The little Lotus has a smug pizzaz that the others do not: it says, "DRIVE ME!" Wish I had the dollar! Davy
  12. Such an expensive airdam on a very tired Z. What a find! Davy
  13. FWIW, I had one machined and It cost me $20 + tax and that was over 5 years ago. The ones from JTR will be correct and cheapest unless you are a machinist... Davy
  14. Robert, that is the same roof/company we used for the New Beetle when it first came out sans sunroof. On a very curved roof, it's murder because they have to pull the edges near the corners up to the corners of the frame of the moonroof--it looks strange after they do it, BUT on a Z with a very mild curve to the roof, it should be great. The roof only opens about 75% total as shown, but it's more than enough and looks good on the car from the outside believe it or not. I think the Dutch made roofs are quality pieces personally. Just my $.02 Davy
  15. Traction is going to be a big issue here. My friend Mike D had higher HP than that and his V8 could rev to 7000 rpm, yet he could only manage 13's due to severe traction problems. That's what you get with relatively skinny street tires. I think shifting a 5 speed made it a little slower too. On the other side, dmanzo's car, a 383 EFI with automatic and DRs (I think) ran approx 10.9 sec. It's the fastest Z I personally have driven; so smooth you'd never think it's as fast as it is. Davy
  16. Good luck Don & Grumpy. Shelving 'taint too cheep. I found this for cabinets--nice stuff, but quite expensive. Here is a pic and a description: "THIS ULTIMATE GARAGE STORAGE SYSTEM WILL TRANSFORM YOUR FAVORITE ROOM. This Wall Storage Unit is a great way to maximize space in your garage with massive amounts of storage in only 28" of depth! It's the same quality construction as our finest storage cabinets. Pictured above it will allow you to store everything you desire. From pounds of fasteners and tools in the 5' tall Cabinets to gallons of liquids and car parts in the 2 door cabinets featuring pull out shelves. Simply, pull out the flat shelf ,with removable stiffeners, to get to everything! With the stiffener out the shelves feature a small lip to keep items from sliding off. The shelves have a 770 pound capacity and swallow up enormous amounts of things. Nothing gets hidden at the back so you maximize the entire shelf. The shelves are also adjustable to fit your different height requirements. The doors hide all of your bulky items and keep them dust-free while providing a clean look to the garage. The 7 and 11 Drawer Cabinets and 5 Drawer Double-Wide, hold an incredible amount of tools and fasteners. I store extra long clamps, circular saws, and even get to sleep in one in a pinch! Steel rollers, not light-duty ball bearing sliders let the drawers glide silky smooth, even when fully loaded! Ultra-safe, built-in back-of-drawer locking mechanism. Heavy 10 & 12 gauge steel construction supports 440 lbs. each! I designed this Wall Storage Unit to fit in most any garage. You can choose two different size upper cabinets depending on your ceiling height. Specify either an 8 or 9 foot Unit. You'll get everything in the pictured to turn your garage into an instant storage center making your favorite room in the house a pleasure to spend quality time in. Or, mix and match each individual unit to fit your special needs. Cabinets are red with black housing. Swiss design and custom-made for us in the U.S.A. Allow 4-6 weeks for standard delivery." http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?L1=L1_3000&L2=L2_3020&L3=L3_3021&SKU=WS900 The 9' tall unit is about $10,000, but hey, it's nice! Davy
  17. You guys are making me feel bad by discussing your age vs your kids' ages. My kids are younger than your oldest and I believe I'm a bit older than both of you. Pluuuus, you are farther along in your swap than me! *Ugh* Maybe I should stop complaining and start wrenching. BTW, Al it's good to hear about your son's recovery. Davy
