  1. what is wrong with it exactly?
  2. Probably is . Can never get the intial shape/position right myself. Easier for me to build off of another drawing.
  3. Thanks. I kinda worked off of another persons drawing that I got off of here a while ago, can't remeber who's it was though. Hopefully it can become reality. Already got the headlights (yamaha r6. and yes managed to have them project hi/low beams in the same direction.) Needed 2 of them because right and left set of lenses are different. Can go into detail but, seems like I'm babbeling.
  4. I got a set, but I have to go find them.
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 280z 5 speed that same ratios as the 4-speed but with an extra gear?
  6. remember when swapping to take out the speedo cable gear inside the old tranny and swap it into the new one. then your speedo will be somewhat actuate. (somewhat reffering to age of equipment)
  7. Oh I thought it was something that needed a power source . I understand now. Was talked about sometime ago. had to do with having it in the radiator or something.
  8. Can't see the page. Don't think it really helps all that much. Rust will happen But I assume the charge draws the oxidation away from the base metal. Kinda like how the positive terminal always forms some sort of copper sulfate build up. Well thats my assumption.
  9. there is some stuff that walmart sells. Its used to take off window tint. I think its called "tint off". Its like consentrated windex. Works well on tape and vinyl.
  10. showcar has been mentioned alot on the forum. Search, bad rep.
  11. eh, looks more like a 4-door FB RX-7. EDIT:
  12. Someone has to be wrong. haha.
  13. Wasn't it to commemorate race wins? I think thats where I got mixed up with the "BRE orange". I read it somewhere. Can't remember where though.
  14. Haha. I'm partly right this time:p . Yup details, lol. Didn't know that the standard fairlady Z's came with mesh grilles. JDM, right? Thought the standard models came with the lateral component grilles (don't know what else to call it ).
  15. haha. guess I was wrong again. . Another difference that I remember was the meshed grille and the PFR (or what ever the composite is called[plastic], or was it fiberglass?) hood. That was black.
  16. not sure but I think BRE orange was a color
  17. Nice. I don't really like Meguiars because of the fact that its formulated to work in temps higher in average from wher I live (experience). Seems to work great for you from what I see.
  18. It compresses the air slightly as it enter the runners. I know not exactly the same principle but: Kinda like the opposite if using a cone to amplify sound. It has to do with air being pushed from a wide area into a more narrow area. More air + more fuel = more power

I believe they are made of some sort of compsite. Not sure though. dscott@shouri should know. He said in the other thread that the roof was some sort of plastic/composite. From the quality shown in the thread http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=116285 The quality seems to be worth the money, its just to expensive for me.
  21. Ok. I getcha now. Thought you just wanted how the guages are mounted in the 280z. Didn't know that your question was intailing the whole dash. Not definit, but I think the 280z dash is smaller than the zx. I don't think the problem would be how to mount the dash, but how to fill in the empty space. And then there is the transition between the dash and the center console.
  22. That I would be a custom piece. The 280z tach and speedo sould work since it the "same" engine. Would need to cut from the 280z and cut put out from the 280zx and glue->bondo->paint or texture. Got a whole 280z dash if you're interested. not gauges that I can give though as of yet.

yeah. not recommended. For hatches try here. http://www.betamotorsports.com/products/index.html For doors, here http://home.att.ne.jp/sky/FairladyZ/index.htm -> body-> doors. http://www.shouri-motorsports.com/ It the business that deals with them on the US side. PM dscott@shouri on this forum about it.
  24. Guess I'm wrong . I've seen U-joints go like that, but not clutches. Well here. http://www.machv.com/stainsteelsc.html EDIT: take that back about the clutches (flywheel). http://www.diamondstarmotorsport.com/threespeed.shtml
