  1. I think its because its a distraction to other driver, either that or its, it has its own rule. Not sure about fog lights. They have those "Halo" headlights where you can have the ring be a different color, but the quality isn't there with those IMO.
  2. The scatter shield is for the driveline U joints coming apart. The bell housing is more then enough IMO from the clutch coming apart (never heard of one braking throught he housing). Usually, they put some heavy gauge sheet(s) around the tranny area for that.
  3. I think what he ment witht he camaro head lights were to take the lense off and mount them that way. But anywho, mounting the headlight lower than the bumper would not be a good thing, because it would fail inspection. headlights are required to be some distance (from the center of the light) from the ground (don't remember what it was ). Try a Dodge shadow headlight.
  4. For the body filler problem, "try again ." Sand the area (and around it) down untill it transitions from unfilled to filled part is unnoticable to the touch (not sight). then reprimer. From my experience, depending on the primer, it might adhere differently from one compound from another (unfilled to filled). Just sand the surface of the primer (not through) and shoot another coat, untill it is un noticable. Epoxy primers are sealer primers. Not really noticable if the body work is flush and even and even coats are sprayed.
  5. Wasn't there a whole thread on this? Like aerodynamics of something? Thought I remember someone saying that there is a high air preasure area at the base of the windshield and a "lower" high preasure inside the engine bay, causing air to enter the engine bay from the rear (cowl induction hood).
  6. there is the fuzzy strip that attaches the interior door panel that might need to be replaced, along with the outer lower weather seal.
  7. Right on. If they were unconscience, then I would of yanked the ecu out of the honda and cut all the fuel lines. Then take out what ever goodies they had in the car. "Try to steal my ride, I take your parts as penaty " "Violence isn't the answer but, it sure is the answer to making me feel better :p"
  8. Hey, isn't this suppose to be 200zr not 300zr. I might be wrong . the ZR came with a RB20det right?
  9. could be the temp sensor is going bad also. My 88 cutlass had all those problems. That and JiffyLube mixing the 3 and 4 cylindar plugs, with the previous owners. Burnt out a damn valve. Drives fine now.
  10. did this like a year or two ago. I had to hard wire the LEDs in. Slightly more difficult but I think it was worth the effort. This is like my 4 or fifth time posting this. About the only thing that I can really show off right now
  11. Lucky. car looks to be good quality for a 20+ year car. Final product will come out really well.
  12. Eh. One of my cars was that "BRE orange," or what ever it was called. Crappy paint job, I got sick of it. Well thats just my opinion. I would/am going to paint (when its ready, gonna be a long time) mine a peppermint grey base, with a clearcoat with black and deep blue toner (tint) and top it with a clear with a less blue toner. But thats just the idea right now. I still have to experiment to see if thats what I want. Might change the peppermint grey to a charcoal grey or darker. If the orange is what you want then, go for it, just make sure its done well thats all with good quality paint (quality isn't dictated by price, though most cases it is).
  13. Nice. Would like to see the passenger's face after an (God forbid)accident though lol
  14. just use a sealer primer and have at it with body filler. Latex and enamel paints don't tend to go well together. the latex will eventually want to peal off and it being oil based will not let it adhere well.
  15. One of the best exicuted Z I have ever seen:p . Awsome.
  16. ^For some reason that doesn't look right. Not because of the vents but because of something I can't put my finger on. Just my opinion.
  17. They have the electro luminesant (or what ever its called) backlite ones for the 280zx. I don't really see the worth in putting LEDs or printed white face guages in when they already have those. I believe its about $20-$40 without the inverter (maybe with).
  18. You can try to spray a layer of clearcoat. Don't know if it will work or not though.
  19. I drove in a Z06 before when I went to atlanta. things are crazy fast. One of my sister's friends bought one. They are nothing like the C6.
  20. Brace brace brace. Since you are going to be cutting out a vital structural memeber, there is no such thing as bracing overkill in this case.
  21. Well I would assume that, that wouldn't work as it is. you would have to pop out the dent first and then use the "shrinking disc" on the portion was ceowned since thats the area where it was stretched. Well I am "experimenting" on my other datsun that I'm going to trash after the one I'm wokring on is done (parts car, no title). I'm using a oxy torch with a NO 1 sized tip. Seems to be working pretty well. The parts car has a huge crown dent due to heavy snow last winter, popped it out and pounded out the crease and am using the torchand a wet rag, about 6" away from the metal and working in areas about a foot apart, so I don't have to go back and rework the metal too much. I found that whether you heat/cool from the outside or the inside also effects how the metal will shrink (not much but help in certain situations).
  22. Ooops. yeah I ment bumpsteer:flamedevi. Thats what happens when I'm up at 3 in the morning.lol my bad. I just glanced through everything and got bumpsteer and bumpstop mixed up.
  23. http://www.blackdragonauto.com/features/z/Z_1.htm But as stated many times before on this forum. Fitment isn't the greatest. Its almost better to just hack and patch your existing panels. If its just the rear half of the fenders then its just better to just go ahead and buy another one (used OEM is best, even if the lower portion needs to be replaced [tabco]). EDIT: another one (same site) with the rear sections. http://www.blackdragonauto.com/icatalog/z/0021.html
  24. Ooo. Just one of those unexpected, but helpful thing you find on the internet. lol. Thanks, that helps me alot. Didn't even think of trying to build one like that. KISS (keep it simple stupid) lol forgot about that.
