  1. well I'm only limited because I got them at such a good deal that I couldn't pass them up. Another set will more expensive than I can afford rite now. So since it will be a while and I can adjust the front already I was thinking of using them on the rear. However I can be swayed either way based on what you guys think. thanks tc
  2. ok,my car is an s30 so I got sectioned rear struts w/ home made lower perches, 10" coilovers and a modified OEM top hat and tokico hp inserts. Prolly going to get Koni's Up front I have non sectioned tubes, home made lower perches, 10" coilovers and a modded top hat w/ Koni "special D" inserts, adjustable LCA's and TC rods. My car sits slightly lower in the rear. I like it that way. and has alot of neg camber. not sure how much Tires are 225/50/15 on 10" wheels w/ 5" backspacing. The car handles great! but I noticed that I am scrubbing off the rear tires quite a bit. especially the outside edge. The other day I got a pair of Carrera camder plates made for the s30. My question is. Should I use the camber plates on the front or rear? What do you guys think? thanks tc
  3. wow! monzter that's a work of art.
  4. a few zip ties would work. if you really want it fixed go down to the local hydrolic hose shop and get some reinforced high psi hose. couple bucks a ft but you don't need much.
  5. well here's a pic of mine with side and rear louvers. Took forever to find abs rears. The whale tail puts alot of force down so I got used to it over the years. I just got the rear louvers and I can feel that the rear down force has been lightened now. I have only driven if a couple times since and seems that there is no noticable change till speeds exceed 100. around 135^ the change seems more drastic. I know too fast for public roads but whatever. I also have a brand new set of these for a 280zx if anyone wants to treat theirselves.
  6. yeah I was talking about s130 strut tubes. I like the Mazda setup and I have a complete s4 to rob all the parts. The thing I don't like about it is that the strut does not have replacable cartridges. You have to replace the whole thing. So when you blow a strut you have to get a new and modify it again The mazda calipers use a wider bolt spread but the same spacing as the toyo calipers so a flat plate with 4 bolt holes ant they will bolt rite on S30 or S31 strut housings. Less than 1/2 the weight too. I really just want to use the s31 strut on the s30 so that after it is done new inserts are easily installed. I just got a new set of Koni D's don't ya know. The dimensions seem the same except the diameter of the tube is smaller on the s31 making coilover parts easier to find. trade sides with the steering knouckle and the steering is changed from rear to front steer. I guess I am really concerned about what Jon mentioned about the spindle being at the wrong angle, or sticking out farther, or another prob.?
  7. just get the 2mm multi layer and take 1/2 the layers out. that's the only diff anyway.
  8. anyone put zx front struts on an s30? obviously the spring perch is way too big making coilovers a must. I know the zx tubes are 2"OD. and the s30 struts are a bit larger making coilovers harder to piece together. with the 2"OD cheap coilovers are available. I was thinking of these cheap kits for the threaded tubes and collars and get some afco coil springs. also I am going z31 5lug setup and was wondering if any problems with this setup on the zx strut. also will the wheels stick out 3/4" like with the s30 strut. seems like a rotor spacer has to be made on either setup to get the 4 pots to fit. who makes them? and sells them without a $400 brake kit?
  9. I don't care what it looks like. That is Fast! I would like to learn more of this guys setup. impressive, to say the least.
  10. when I first got my Walbro I thought it was bad after a very short time. low psi and some times no flow. and it was soooo loud too. checked my voltage and found out why. the stock wiring and relay on my car was not capable of providing the voltage needed. I made a hot wire kit with a new style relay. Fixed. no flow probs and the pump is very quiet now too. 2 years later and all is still good.
  11. looks like it fits better than the "z" motor.

  15. is the car running any different than usual? a bad alternator bearing can make all kinds of noises and can fool you from where the noise is coming from. take a long screwdriver, rest the handle against your ear and the blade end on the alt or anything you want th check. you will hear the prob if there is 1
  16. I ran my new l28et p90 stock cam tho. 2mm hg and dished pistons for 1500 miles with a header and no turbo to break it in without breaking it. ran it at the strip a couple times like that too. still ran faster and quicker than my stocker. put the t3/t4, 1085cfm IC, and picked up 16mph in the 1/8 at 14lbs. full boost at 2200-2500rpm. I really think cam timing is Phils prob. who knows. a regring could be 10-12deg off . an adjustable cam gear may be in order
  17. I have a couple good runners complete l28e motors wiring harnesses, everything needed. Knoxville area.
  18. wouldn't setting the lash on the exhaust side to say .008 open the valve sooner and keep it open longer alowing for more evacuation of the exhaust gasses. sounds like it may help.? being a regrind I am sure that it should really be installed with a degree wheel. but you still only have 3 cam gear positions. so I would play with them too.
  19. the manifold is made of cast iron. You will need a competant welding shop to perform the repair. The shop I use heats the cast red hot with a torch at the spot to be welded before welding. Unfortunately, the repair might cost more than a replacement manifold. All depends on how long it takes for the guy to fix it and how much they charge per hour. peace tc
  20. if you watch all the videos unfortunately he pokes it into a wall and wipes the front off it.
