  1. Code corruption seems to be a common problem with the MS-II CPU...Wonder why that is...? The last one I built and sold never even went in a car and before I sent it off I checked it out and had to reload the code because of the same thing, it appeared dead. Reloaded and let it run for a while without a problem. No idea, the persaon who bought it had no complaints. Loaded his msq and drove off.
  2. Autolites are garbage compared to NGK. NGK copper cores are the best for the Z.
  3. Should have ordered from me, I'd have listed it as a gift and only listed the value and $70 to keep the taxes down. Not to mention I also sell my assembled units for $380.
  4. Stiffer springs I would think could solve that problem. More than likely the stock springs aren't strong enough to return as quickly as the cam lobe passes causing the rocker to go free at certain points in the valve movement which is where it most likely came loose.
  5. I thought the Z got it's tach signal from the "-" side of the coil also...
  6. Are your drivers properly heat sinked? If you didn't put enough transfer grease in there they would overheat much quicker than most.
  7. How about just doing the easiest thing and swapping the cluster out for the analog cluster. All you do is pull the dash and swap the harness behind along with the full cluster. It's really much easier than it sounds.
  8. If this is a common problem then maybe running a hose from the breather into one of the wheel wells would be an appropriate solution.

  10. Sounds a bit odd, what are you using for fluid?
  11. It sounds good, but I'd like to see more of it.
  12. Beautiful car...One of these days... Incredible blond. She doesn't look happy to be there though...
  13. Sounds like I need to go back to the JY yank one and see if I can get a friend of mine to machine an adapter plate. Could take a bit though, he's got a lot of work on the table.
  14. I certainly hope that was intended as a sarcastic comment....
  15. No biggie. I saw the lights in the grill first then I also noticed the 280 on the side. Looks like a blast. though I couldn't bring myself to take a Z offroad considering their becoming more and more rare everyday.
  16. Oh come on aux...You should have know you'd get responses like this on here. I love the sarcastic humor ones, but the best ones are the guys that think you actually sell tires now...LOL
  17. Nice...It's a 280Z not a 240Z, but it's still sweet.
  18. Talk to Pallnet, I'm sure he would work with you on shipping a spacer to OZ.
  19. For 3.8L or the like GM throttle bodies. Has anyone tried this? It would makes sense for an MS install as the GM IAC body is built into the throttle body and rather than buying a separate adaptable IAC body or something else that costs more money wouldn't it be cheaper to just go to a junk yard and buy a throttle body off a newer GM 3.8L?
  20. MS is great. Take your time with your first one, but don't take a break. Once you've started it everything flows together so easily, unless you stop for a couple days then try to get back at it. In total it will take anywhere from 8-10 hours to complete the ECU assembly. Try and make a day of it, say devote a whole Saturday just to the ECU. If you take a break and come back to it, you'll feel a bit lost as you cram sooooo much new and exciting info in all at once coming back will be like meeting 100 people all at once then trying to remember everyone's name next week. Good luck!
  21. Beautiful interior. I can't wait until I get that far on my Z.
  22. Unfortunately I haven't set my DD up with MS yet. That's the whole reason for building these. If I can build enough of them I can make enough money on the side to buy one for myself and all the sensors and a wiring harness. I'm a little curious on the TPS as well though. I would think MS would need a potentiometer type TPS where as the one on the Z is a TVS or Throttle Vane Switch which is only a two position sensor for NA and a single for turbo. NA has a contact for idle and WO and turbo just has an idle contact. Everything else is considered cruising,
