  1. Why not just adjust your door so it hits the door switch properly and shuts her up the right way?
  2. Treadmill for the wife, new MIG (my harbor freight one kicked the bucket), wheels and another stroker crank.
  3. That much overbore is going to make the cylinder walls too thin I think. Hell the 89mm required for a 3.1L stroker make the walls extremely thin.
  4. Well, you'll need to bore and counter bore the L28 Bellhousing so it will fit the KA trans main bearing. Estimates say it's about $100 for the machine work on the bellhousing. Otherwise, yes it will fit.
  5. It looks beautiful, it really does, but I think you'll find that within the next year the paint will oxidize and fade bad. Spray paint just doesn't hold up. Since you're comfortable doing that though, get a spray kits and some actual automotive paint from NAPA. Not sure what the kit costs, but I know for a single stage black with primer it's about $100.
  6. That was going to be my suggestion was changing to a smaller jet. If you're good at idle you may want to look at your secondary. Don't the Edlebrock carbs have seperate adjustment screws for both primaries and secondaries?
  7. According to the manual you should be disconnecting the vacuum advance, however it shouldn't make a difference as it's hooked to a ported vacuum line which only applies vacuum when the throttle is opened. So at idle it shouldn't make a difference. Other possabilities are that the crank pully has spun on the balancer moving your mark or the base plate under the dizzy could need adjusting. There are two adjustment points on the stock dizzy that can be moved.
  8. 7 years of spreading information and great technical support for Z Car owners everywhere. Awesome! Happy Birthday Hybridz.org!
  9. So what you heard is partially true. Disconnecting it will make it run rich at idle, but not at speed. It will also make it run lean at WOT for a non turbo.
  10. Best and most useful advice in the world right there.
  11. If you don't mind spending a bit of money up front the HKS steel 1mm head gasket would be a good investment IMO.
  12. Unfortunately that could be a lot of things. Low fuel pressure, vacuum leak, bad injectors, tune up (cap, rotor, wires, plugs), timing...They could all be culprits. Are there any other symptoms that somethings wrong while you're driving it or after it's warmed up?
  13. The ZX wouldn't look right without some work done to cover up the bumper holes and such. I wouldn't do it.
  14. They claim 1" lowering and I've heard mixed reviews on them. Some people with V8 Z's like them and other think they're too stiff.
  15. Have the block and head checked to make sure they're true.
  16. The Pinks Z had a welded diff and it held up well.
  17. Hmmm, I think I have a complete harness in my garage for a 77. I was going to use it in mine, but I decided to go a different route. Interested? EDIT: Yep just went to make sure, it is a complete harness with fuse box and the EFI harness as well. It's dirt as sin, but what's to be expected right? I bought it three years ago off eBay because someone hacked up the wiring in my 77 trying to bypass a hot lead they wired into ground. It's complete and uncut.
  18. Hmmm, I have those forward controls. They were on my sporty and I took them off because they were too heavy and would shift gears for me while I was riding.
  19. Ok if nothing else I'm interested in this. Please post.
  20. The reason it's tough to get going is the ring pressure is able to push the oil out from between the cylinder wall and ring thus causing it to have no lubrication once it's settled. That's why assembly lube is so important, it's thicker and bonds to the metal during assembly. If fogging oil is a little thicker and you can get it in between the rings and the wall then go for it. I'd still be concerned with cylinder scoring and ring breakage.
  21. Bigger, yes, a country nah, they just tell you that so they can explain why everyone down there is so...well...different...yeah that's it...lol
  22. He'd probably be able to advise you well on this. I think you will need to open her back up and check everything over. Without proper lube the rings could have been damaged. pull it apart, check everything and properly reassemble with assembly lube.
  23. I can't say. i don't know what kind of spread you'll get to all the rings with that.
  24. Wow...Ok I was completely wrong. I thought the turbo had the lower geared rear for a faster take off until the turbo kicked in. I didn't realize the BW T-5 was so low geared in first and second. Damn, now I want to get my hands on a 3.54 rear. Better gas mileage and since my aim is a daily driver that would be nice. No wonder my 81 winds out really quick in first.
  25. Hahah, texas gets it's own region...lol
