  1. Scanners don't always catch the source of the problem. Have you done the F8 safe mode right when you turn the computor on? That should let you go through ur HD in safe mode to find the problem. If you can get that to let you in, Hit ctrl+Alt+Dlt, and goto task manager, and goto the processes tab, and go through every running proccess. Take ur time and look for anything you don't recognize and delete the source file. Second, goto Start, then Run, then type msconfig in the run box, and then when the screen pops up goto the top right tab "startup", and look through all the files there and delete any suspicious ones. I had a couple virus's but cleaned them that way, along with Mcafee's scanner.
  2. yea ^. My friends who practice wheelies and stuff always put in extra oil when they do it to help with the oil starvation. But even adding extra oil won't help in the long run if you do it alot.
  3. tried it ^. It still left the cutoff wheel wobbly and loose. Believe me i wouldn't have burned my finger grinding a new washer if I didn't have to...lol. I think i got the wrong cutoff wheels for my grinder, because they did have other 4-1/2" metal cutoff wheels that were alittle thicker, but were 2.20 a piece (thats what i get for trying to be cheap) but they work now.
  4. If it explodes, they better have a recall or else i'll have a nice lawsuit in progress...lol
  5. Well i didn't have any washers the right size, so i took a flat wrench that came with a old weedeater or lawnmower or somthing(you know the one's im talking about). and took the die grinder and grinded the center hex shape into a circle and then cut the handle off, and got myself a perfect washer the cutoff wheels cut through sheetmetal like butter and barely show a scratch after a bunch of cuts, so i think i'll stick wth norton.
  6. man, at first I was all timid to hit corners with any speed, but once you get a feel for ur bike you can come into a turn and just move alittle and get it drifing through the turn. The first time that happend, my stomach almost jumped out of my body..lol! But i had to try it again and again...
  7. I never stunted my R1's. I bought it with pretty much all the money I had saved from working through highschool and wasn't about to drop that thing...lol. I got pretty good at 2nd gear power wheelies on that 98 but had a few close calls and said screw that... I use to dirtbike alot so I saved the damage for the dirt. All the liter bikes are fast enough for whatever you can do on the street, the R1 is just known to be reliable like nothing else and I'd take the looks of any R1 over the others, so it really comes down to what you like the most and what deal you find.
  8. Well i went to Home depot this morning to grab a new angle grinder and some wheels. The place was packed, i don't get why so many people come out the days after thanksgiving, there weren't even any real sales...lol.. Anyway, I got a Ryobi 4-1/2" and I also got a couple 7" cutoff wheels for my 'chop saw' (they work great in the miter saw but you have to make a few cuts on wider pieces because of the small diameter wheel, but it cuts like butter), and I got a bunch of 4-1/2" Norton cutoff wheels for the grinder, but I got home and the norton cutoff's are to thin to fit the grinder. there 4-1/2" x 0.45" x 7/8", the 7/8" arbor hole fits fine, but I guess i need some kind of washer to raise it up so it tightens all the way. Maybe some of you have had that problem? Anyway, I love getting new tools, and now i can cut metal easily...
  9. do u call that raven or black? just asking..lol
  10. yea that zx is alittle awkward. I'm mean it's fast, but the r1's and 1000's are alot better for throwin into turns, and they have more than enough power to do clutch wheelie's going 100, not that i'd ever try that. But really for a streetbike, you don't need anything bigger than 1000 because I got 3 speeding tickets in 2 months and had to stop riding for awhile because i was so afraid of getting pulled over for going 5 over. One thing i can tell you is just like parents don't like us on motorcycles, the cops hate them just as much...lol
  11. I love looking through all the pics in the photo albums, but I think it would be great if by defualt, each members photo album link was in there sig for easy viewing. anyone agree? yea or nay?
  12. Me to, But the reason I sold the blue one was because I thought I was going back to cali for school, but ended up staying. I had just put a undertail on it, but oh well that 03' was a great deal for being almost brand new, so i couldn't pass it up.
  13. Here's my old blue 98 R1, and my silver/black 03...both will make you fall in love with them. I got the 98 for $4800 3 years ago, and the 03 for $7000 2 years ago and it had 800 miles, pretty much new, so you have a reference
  14. Get a R1. I've had 2 and i wouldn't buy any other bike (i've ridden every brand, and i've had a honda 250, a 600, and 2 yamaha R1's). $5000 will only get you a 98-01, because the 02+ were a whole new style and most people ask 6000+ for them since they have fuel injection and look different. I had a 98 R1 and it was great no complaints, and my next one was a 03 R1 as u can see in my avatar pic. It has alot smoother response and still has all that power everywhere in the powerband. The 04-06 have alot less bottom end, but there top end makes up for it with the extreme pull in the higher rpms. the 05 gsx are faster than the R1, but they look ugly and have tendency's to break, the R1 is almost indestructable, you can redline those things all day and run like new the next. And you don't need anymore power than any year R1 has on the street because like someone said, you can get 80+ mph in 1st gear easy. But i Love it... Motorcycles are my first passion, and you won't be sorry if you got a R1, any year. They aren't uncomfortable if your in shape, i mean there not cruisers, but they are great for city and canyons and track because they handle so well...lol sorry for the long post but going on a ride on a R1 is somthing else, power at ur fingertips and handling like no other and they look sexy as #^^&
  15. sell the Z to me for cheap and get the 240sx
  16. The only easy things to check before installing it would be the play in the gears by having someone hold the tires, and those little types of things. If it's pretty tight and you don't hear any grinding you should be ok. I don't know what else you can do without installing it and getting it on the road to get a real feel for it.
  17. It doubt it would hurt anything, but it defeats the purpose of a muffler. It would probably sound wierd, and there built to flow one way, so it wouldn't be a good choice to me. I take it you have a 2.5" exhaust that you don't want to change, and you got that muffler cheap? You could find a shop to just make a adapter for 2.5" to 3" so you can run it the right way.

    Tool Porn.

Nothing much, but before i had the compressor and airtools, this was my favorite tool. Notice the air tools in the nice dust free tub. If i had a mig welder it would be my favorite though. New favorite

Make sure u drive up the coast, there's ALOT of good driving and things to do.
  21. If it's crooked or dented at all go get it fixed. My dad use to play alot of rugby and football and broke his nose a couple times, and to this day you can see the nice dent right in the middle of his nose from somthing 20 years ago. By the way, glad it didn't get taken any farther (the fight), but you can't really blame the guy, i mean if someone sprayed gravel at my vehicle or stuff, i'd prolly do the same thing. A house got built next door to us and they had the construction vans and trucks ALWAYS blocking our driveway, and i can't say how many times i wanted to ram them all with my truck. But most the fights i've been in were pointless and that woulda been to.
  22. I'm glad this thread got up'd, i didn't see the video the 1st time. Little old Z just put a beating on him..lol. Ur Z looks better than the viper to, but the viper would be nice to have for the handling, but 80g's, forget about it.
  23. I've got a couple things i want to order from harbor freights anyway, so i'll order a few wheels and see how they cut. The home depot ones are nice, but expensive, so i'll compare them to the cheap harbor freight ones... I want to get a oxy/acet setup so i can cut whatever, and maybe try welding with it.
  24. Wheres the best place to get quality cutoff wheels in bulk (10 and up packs), 3" for my air die grinder, and 4-1/2" for my Angle grinder. I checked harbor frieghts, but are they quality wheels? I don't want to have to replace the wheel after every cut, and home depot only sells individual wheels, and the 4-1/2" cutoff wheels are $2.20 each . And second, whats the best tool to cut thick plate or stock with? Should i put a cutoff wheel on my 8" mitre saw (it has a metal guard not plastic). Or should i get a sawsall? Thanks
