  1. Just about anywhere. MSA has it, as well as a number of other places. What you want is the ducted urethane peice for a 70 to 74.
  2. 200k on an L28 is just breakin her in, haha. I wouldnt worry about using "high mileage" oil.
  3. My advice is to not worry about what year/what the block came from. You can nab an 80's Ford truck 351W for cheap. Throw some 69-70 heads or GT40s on it for cheap, put a cam, intake, carb, and headers. That oughta get you close to your goal. The 351W is the same motor as the 302/5.0, except with a taller deck, and a different firing order(same as 5.0 HO).
  4. Why dont you just spraybomb it flat black, would look just like a radiator through the front grill.
  5. Probably my favorite stock-body Z of all time, I enjoyed following the resto. Shame it has to go.
  6. For the record, those arnt YZ flares, they were custom built.
  7. Luuucky, nice find, seems to be your speciality.
  8. Big-Phil ran 20 PSI on an NA block, I believe, and the early N42 motors also had dished pistons, I think. As far as why you would want a P79 over a P90, they're more common, and thus less expensive. Its also generally acknowledged that it flows about as well as the P90. Now it does have the round exhaust ports, where the factory turbo manifold has square ports, but many people have run it with the turbo manny without issue.
  9. Gorgeous, clean Z, congrats. The turbines look great with that color.
  10. '66 Mustang when I was 14. 289 2V, 3 speed on the floor. Still havnt drove it, almost 5 years later. First car I drove to school was my '76 Ford Maverick, 250 six, C4 auto, bench seat, disc brakes, power steering, original paint. Fairly nice car, I got for 500 bucks almost 2 years ago. It was totaled, and has since donated its disc brakes towards my Mustang, which is now my project car.
  11. What advantage do you think the turbo block has over any other at that power level? To answer your question, the turbo oil pan has a tube that connects to the (no longer there) turbo via a rubber hose.
  12. If your talking about a pattern to use so as not to warp the manifolds, from my experience, it doesnt matter so much when taking a peice off. When you reinstall, just snug all the nuts/bolts up, then start torque'in from the inside out.
  13. Well you did a great job on it, especially for a first timer, car should look great!
  14. Looks like you got some nice, flat panels, essential for a good-looking black paintjob, nice job. Is it getting clear or is it a flat paint?
  15. If you put the cold side on a T3 hotside, it should work fairly well. I have a T04B off an old Banks kit for a 6.9 ford, it has a 1.00ar hotside, and a .60ar coldside, and that is exactly what I plan to do.
  16. Supercoupes did come with a 5speed, a T45, the bellhousing pattern is the same as a small block ford (302/351W) and I know some people are running T5s, even heard of one T56.
  17. Considering you cant build it for twice that, I'd say it is. Nice find, Big P., it looks like a little reworking would make that a really nice manifold.
  18. What myself and my father did with our '86, we bought a turbo donor that'd been in a frontend wreck (busted block and such) and pulled the turbo manifolds. Bolted those up in our car and swapped in the turbo ECU (plugs right in). However, I think we had to use the factory alternator setup from the turbo, because its on the other side of the engine, so you'll have to extend the wires for it. This has been a while back, and I'm just going off the top of my head. But overall, turboing the NA engine was pretty easy for us.
  19. I'm pretty sure the 75-76s dont have it, unless Cali spec, though. Atleast, my 75 doesnt. Great lookin seat install, man, looks great.
  20. 3 here. My first Z was an '83 non turbo 5speed coupe, digi dash. Got it from my brother for 800 bucks, short while later, I sold it back to him, and he took it to Germany with him when he was stationed there. The car is now likely in a German scrap yard, might even be a toaster by now. Second Z was my '75. But then I bought 2 280zx parts cars for 400 bucks. One of them for the turbo swap in my '75. So...3.
  21. Dont know the code, but I'm partial to Ford's Dark Highland Green, from ~64-69, ala Bullitt.
