  1. i'm suprised the fruit didn't make the jeeps spin out when they drove over them.
  2. I have a stock 78 350 chevy with a 2 barrel carb and I checked the pressure in all of the cylinders today and the #1 cylinder was a 80 psi and the rest were at 120-150. I also have oil pressure just about always between 18-30 psi which is kinda low. My question is do I have a blown head gasket or a worn out cylinder. I'm hoping to just have a blown head gasket which would explain just one bad cylinder but I dont have much experiance with building engines to diagnose on my own. Any thoughts on how to better diagnose the problem. Joe
  3. GRRRR It looks so good I wish I thought of it. I can't wait to see it in paint.
  4. 78 l28 with 5 speed trans and wireharness $300 runs great. pulled to swap 350 chevy
  5. I'm looking for 2 Enkei 92 16x8 0 offset mesh wheels. I've got some curb damage on mine and I'm looking to replace them. or maybe sell the set I have. Joe
  6. It looks freaking sweet. good Job
  7. Have you checked to see how much oil was in it? If its low it will act that way.
  8. I have a complete motor and trans in virginia
  9. I just bought an 09 Jetta TDI and I love it. It basically comes fully decked out with options and has a turbo. Plus it gets 40-50 mpg!!. I suggest as an option
  10. This car is listed on WWW.reactionresearch.com Perhaps it is one of theirs?
  11. I have a 78 350 with cast iron heads. The motor was rebuilt and then sat for several years. I threw it in to the z and it fired right up. The problem I'm having is that it looses power after a couple of trips. I changed the spark plugs and found that the #3 and #6 plugs have lots of oil and build up on them while the rest are white. I did a compression test with the motor cold and found I had 175-180 psi in both. This leads me to believe that it is the valve seals. What do you guys think? Is there an easy way to fix this? Joe
  12. Cygnusx1 No I sold the WRX a couple of years ago to buy an engagement ring and pay off some debt. I have a bad habit of rotating cars just about every year. The WRX was by far the longest I owned a car and it was a pleasure to drive and I still miss it some. But as I grew older some of the displeasures started to wear on me. I looked at a new STI about a month ago and I know it is quicker than my 02' but I really think my bug eyes was more fun and seemed quicker. I'd get the Legacy Spec B GT if I had to do it again but even that is a bit small for my tastes. Now I'm driving an Element as my daily and the 280z to have some fun. My wife bought me a 69 C10 for a wedding present but that needs a lot of work.
  13. My wife just bought a maxima two days ago and while I was leaving I told our sales guy that I was interested in the new Z. I was deffinatly not in a mood to buy another car but yesterday afternoon I got a call saying we've got one in, come take a look at it. How could I pass on that. Unfortunatly it was dark outside but the car was under the street lights. It was a white touring model for $35k. Trust me it looks better in person. I love the front of the car but the back is still a little off. I think its the small "port" windows. The lines are very similiar to the S30's. The interior is where they made some drastic improvements. Previously I thought the interior looked very entry level vs an upscale sports car. The dash and consol was a very nice and rich leather with white stiches. I made it very clear that I wasn't going to buy one so I was supprised when he said to my wife that she couldn't come because he had to ride along with me. Hot damn I get to drive it. It has the new push button start with the remote key. I'm 6'4" and I found it comfortable in the power seats but I felt like my head room was lacking. I think this is due to the door pillars being right in my side vision (why can't they make cars for tall people). I backed it out of the parking space and noticed I wouldn't like this for a daily drive due to the limited view in the rear and sides. I drove it down the highway for a bit. I noticed the clutch was a little twitchy for my tasted but I know I could learn to drive it smooth. Pedal engagement was firm but not to hard with a short engagement. I got off the highway and started down a back road. I decided that if I'm not going to buy it I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. I give it a rolling start and floor it. The car hooks well until 6,500 rpm and the back wheels start to give. I slam it into second and they spin again. I rev it to 7,200 rpm and back off due to traffic. The addtional 30 hp to make it 330hp makes a difference. I'm sure with an exhaust and intake there's probably 20-40 more horsepower. Overall I think the car is a real solid car. I don't know what the base and sport models will look like but I was pleased with new one. Perhaps if I was 5'10" I would be more interested in buying but right now (I'm suprised to say this) I'm happier with my smelly noisy but quick 280z. Joe
  14. Glass is made with sulfide nitrate impurities. The odds of a lite breaking are 8 lites per 1000. If they break it due to this it would have broken within a year or so, not 30. The most likely reason (if nothing hit it) would be a chip in the glass grew due to changes in the temperature. Also if a blunt object hits the glass it doesn't always cause a spider effect.
  15. I was wondering if it is possible for you to hook up the heater lines backwards? I don't get much heat until the motor has full warmed up. One of my lines goes to the water pump and the other goes to the manifold.
  16. Is there any way to get these things to work better? is it due to the wires corroding in the glass?
  17. I bolted my finger between a lawnmower blade and the adapter with an impact. Which I dropped and then had to pick up again to unbolt my hand. I can't count how many times i've gotten carb cleaner in my eyes. I wonder...
  18. I had an 02 WRX and it was quick and easy to work on. I got 29 mpg on premium and it would beat just about anything out there. Try www.clubwrx.net for some information. I resently started missing my rex and looked at the new STI in my opinion you would be better off getting the EVO. I really enjoyed the Legacy 2.5 GT Spec B. STI drive train but would fit my 6'4" ass.
  19. Mine turns on but it does not produce enough heat to get rid of the fog. Rather fustrating.
  20. Sounds to me like your fuseable links are working. (under the hood with 2 removable white caps)
