Well, I don't know your car(s) well enough to know what vehicle you're talking about, but.... This sounds like an excessive rich/lean condition or a horribly mis-timed setup. Just make sure you get an affirmative identification on the problem before running it very long as-is. LUK.

Don't install more ancient stuff; do what these guys are posting. Go with a new fuse panel and get rid of fusible links.

Do a compression and leakdown test.

I have a set of stockers with fuel rail and regulator all ready to go. They are actually pretty new (the injectors and regulator) with fresh Goodyear fuel injection hose.

Get a new set from Victoria British. Those are a good thing to keep in top shape since they're a pain to get out.

No, he's saying that any one PARTICULAR throttle body only opens one way. You cannot turn it the opposite direction and get it to open; such as my solution evidently would require.

You're stuck in the world of Normal Aspiration, my friend. Turbo guys see a jump from 93 octane to ~105 as a big, big boost increase. Way more than 15% for sure. Likewise, leaded race fuel will eat wideband oxygen sensors; which is not good for those who drive their car a lot. Leaded race fuel is getting harder and harder to acquire (in fresh condition) in many places.

(My) Ace has a bit of stuff in metric, but only a few lengths, etc. The online stores have been critical in getting what I need in metric.

Sounds like you are on the right path. Don't overlook the connectors themselves. In an engine (and harness) of that age, it could also be oxidized connectors, loose connections, brittle wiring, etc. Try jiggling and tugging everywhere while one of the guys keeps the timing light on it.

How about requiring everyone to list the two digit state it's for sale in? That, or the code for another country, etc.? Save everyone time...

LOL Doesn't mean that they can't be used in certain applications, no? Are you sure every "Earls" fitting or JEGS fitting and other discount "AN" brands actually follow the spec and not just advertise them as "AN Style"?

Saying that a car is fully compatible with E85 without knowing the specific vehicle and what it was swapped into is dangerous. There ARE cars that have failures from regular gasoline with high ethanol content for winter blends; let alone E85. Particularly some domestic vehicles. Some injectors are still made with pathetic seals such that they will get ate out by even winterized blends from some fuel vendors such as BP.

Actually they are classified as JIC 37; which is a bit like an ASTM classification (AFAIK). Any fitting that is classified as JIC37 will have appropriate 37 degree taper and flare type fitment. It is fortunate that all the speed guys use AN stuff as you can get brass and steel from other industries; as you noted. That's why you probably don't see a lot of steel in the performance shops. You can go down to a big hardware store and get brass right off of the shelf for dirt cheap.

I assume you're watching A/F ratios? What are they at? I've seen voltage regs do a lot of funny stuff; when they aren't working right they can overvoltage stuff and fry it, damage it, etc. They can also go low and cause electronics to not work reliably; particularly the relatively sensitive Megasquirt. Try starting it and unplugging the battery and see what voltage runs at, if it stays running (as much as it did), etc. What do your plugs look like? Try cranking with each plug in the cable and layed out on your valve cover to confirm all 6 are getting consistent spark.

For 15 dollars? LOL. Shipping alone will eat 2/3 of that. Want a solution for 15? Go to the hardware store and get an extra ignition and door key made. Lock the ignition in the car with it running until you come back out to the vehicle. That's your dark age turbo timer solution. That, or buy a can of your favorite soft drink and have a few sips while it idles before you get out.

Maybe I'm nuts but couldn't you just have spun the throttle around 180 degrees as it mounted on the intake manifold and continue to have the throttle cable pull from underneath? Any more pics of the intake manifold?
