    Z31 into S13

There also looks to be enough room for a v-mount radiator-intercooler setup, which would be pretty slick on a vg30et. How much wider is the vg with the dual cam heads?
  2. I resolve to have my car done to the point that I am proud enough of it to take it to a show and trust it enough to drive it across the country.
  3. that is the car that inspired me to paint my car flat black, beautiful.
  4. so uhh... who in the northeast wants to teach a youngin' how to drive. I want to get my car on the track once I have it set up well enough that I trust it, but it is somewhat intimidating to go it alone. Anyone want to have me tag along. I dont even necessarily want to drive the first time I go. I would be more than happy to go and watch or ride as a passenger for a few weekends before turning a wheel on the track myself. I just wanna be out there with a fellow z'er and get a feel for it. So who wants to help a racing newbie.

    awd drift

yea the traction on that thing is incredible. And for being limited to around 300hp, that evo could really scoot. I love how mid donut you could see the computer put more power to the front tires and roast them. That was really impressive.
  6. I learned in built 240z with high comp, a cam, and a VERY touchy throttle. I also think its funny that I replaced a clutch BEFORE I ever drove my car. I picked it up pretty quickly, and I think it has made me a better driver. If i can drive my car, I can drive anything. hehe
  7. ive done trays in a mazda 6s. very fun, especially with a full car of kids flipping out. Did it once with metal serving trays, made nice sparks.
  8. can you imagine having a car that can run an 8 sec 1/4 and still go around a road course with any speed. I cant say that I have seen any.
  9. one of my friends rode kingda ka this past summer. I went to ride but it was down for maintenance when I went. Needless to say i was very dissapointed.
  10. yea, your right about the braking vs acceleration thing. I remember reading in a road and track issue about where one of the editors got to drive a formula car. The drivers told him to absolutely stand on the brakes at first, but as the car slowed to let off progressively as the downforce would be decreasing and therefore traction and braking capability would be less.
  11. Here's the deal. In removing the engine and transmission without a leveling lift, I seem to have bent the ring that holds the rear seal on my nissan 5spd. The tranny leaked when I put the driveshaft back in, so I pulled the tranny again and tried to reshape the ring but it cracked and broke on relatively minor pressure. I put a new seal in and hoped for the best, and it worked for a little while (a day or two) but i seem to have lost my fluid again. Basically I want to know if I need to get a new tranny or if this metal ring is replaceable. If I need a new tranny, does anyone in the northeast have one they would like to sell for a relatively low price.

    Enjoy

First of all, the first video boggles my mind. The only thing ive ever seen or heard like that was playing gran turismo 4 in a 1200hp toyota lmp. He just points the thing in the right direction and it catapults to the horizon. amazing. second, that f3000 driver is just insane. he was sliding that car on a two lane road at a rediculous speed. I feel very inadequate now. Third, the f1 engines are getting out of hand. I cant imagine the stresses on an engine spinning 20,000 rpms. Sometimes the things those f1 engineers come up with impresses me more than the nasa stuff
  13. well, part ofthe problem is i didnt go about it in the easiest way. I tried to take part of the intake plenum off first rather than just taking off the trottlebody and then themoving the entire plenum out of the way. It is just a pain in the butt to have to remove that many parts to get to the plugs. this is the v6 sho btw
  14. yea i had to do a tune-up on a 3000gt and on a taurus sho...huge pita's
  15. how fast do you think he was going before initiating some of those slides. It looks like its pretty darn fast. I mean i've seen organized drifting from a similar perspective and it didnt look nearly that fast and those guys get up to 80 or so. Could this guy have been goin significantly over 100 before throwing the car sideways?
  16. the springs on that subie were STIFF... holy crap that thing was getting the inside wheels up under braking alot. That thing could also change direction VERY quickly. I was also really impressed by the europa.
  17. I think that some venting either in the hood or near the firewall portion of the pan would be helpful in releasing the high pressure (and hot) air from the engine compartment. Hell, if you got the air under the car moving fast enough it might effectively suck the hot high pressure air out of the compartment. Maybe a step as in the firewall forward portion is 1-2 inches lower than the rest of the pan rearward, leaving a gap.
  18. Somehow i dont think so, I dont care how stupid his friend was, he wouldnt have kept the throttle pinned long after running over his friend. I think it was a locked throttle.
  19. My only experience with newer mazda's has been that of my friends auto 6s. Its a great car but he has had problems with the transmission acting up, with the engine light coming on and staying on for days after he drives it a little hard, and with headlights going out...alot. Other than that it has been a great car. I must say though that my family has had two mazda 323's in stick. My dads 88 lasted a really long time till he was rear ended and totalled at a stop light. I bought a 92 hatch in october so i could get around during the winter, and the car has been great. I got it for a couple hundred bucks with 230k miles on it, and it still runs like a champ. Great little car.
  20. ive got a set of swasticas that im looking to get rid of too, i have pictures of them in the for sale section.
  21. i picked up a condensor for a 280zxturbo, but it was a single wire condenser with two spade connectors on the same wire, dont really see how i could connect that to the base of the distributor without burning things up.
  22. i should still have power during cranking. the 12v source is just a toggle switch running to the battery.
  23. i am having the same problem, though my voltage at the +side if the terminal is a bit higher, i still have no spark.....very frustrating.
