  1. Yasin, I can't see the in/out piping very clearly...do you have any pics of the pipes as the enter/leave the intercooler? I'll have to second your comment that the s130 front end isn't as spacious as the earlier models.
  2. You have to diy or get one from keas in australia. A thread on the z31performance forum has the info to diy. The info is also found on the z31.com forum.
  3. I use the auto as well. It needs a good shift kit at minimum to hold any kind of power. KEAS in australia rates it up to around 475hp with a 3 pinion planetary set.
  4. I swapped to the z31 ecu in '99. From what I have seen there is no advantage in a standalone until you get to an extreme duty for most engines. Many will argue that they don't want to deal with a maf, some won't want to learn how to tune an eprom, a lot of people are influenced by hype and or info from vendors. I'll swap to a standalone when I've outgrown a oem ecu.
  5. A couple of pics of mine taken a few years ago. It looks very much the same as it did then.
  6. Phil, I agree with OTM's suggestion. I had a similar experience with a .63 stage 3 hotside vs a .82 hotside. The car just didn't pull until I opened up the hotside on the turbo. Before swapping the cam back I would try running the turbo with an open downpipe or at least with no muffler.
  7. Tuning nissan ecu's is an open book, there are no secrets, everything is explained at a number of websites. Take a look at nistune. It will do everything you want to do. You could talk to Jeffp about his, I think it might be available soon if not already. I am assuming that you have a laptop or two kicking around. That said, I think there is no reason not to spend 200 or so on a bigger junkyard turbo. Mine was around there, and with the difference in weight you have the potential to run 10's.
  8. Jersey, you can buy everything you need to tune a z31 ecu setup for what mine tune costs. MS won't make the car any faster it's just more user friendly to tune.
  9. have you tried turning on the first gear solenoid, then turning on the reverse solenoid at the same time? that's all a transbrake does anyway. what about brake boosting in second then dropping it into low to launch? i do that with my old school jatco and it really loves it. lol
  10. what did you try it on? need specs....a lot of the mustang guys find it works very well.
  11. Where can I get one of those huge rice wings? My car is stock, but I'd sure like to modify it a bit.
  12. Phil you haven't stated what your horsepower goal is. That's a good way you to zero in on the size of injector needed.
  13. Methanol injection is where it's at. Run 28deg's at 15psi and buy a couple of extra tires for the back. I think Afshin has a setup lying around that he'll never use. *poke*
  14. To clarify, I'm talking about backpressure in the exhaust manifolds prior to the turbine inlet. You should measure that before deciding on changing anything. IMO of course.
  15. What kind of backpressure are you seeing Bryan? Perhaps you just need a compressor upgrade.
  16. I run about 10deg's more than you at 18psi.
  17. Phil, have you changed your timing at all? You now have less cyl pressure than before and it lasts longer/higher up in the rpm range. Your engine will tolerate more advance during the spoolup and it can easily make a huge difference in response. I'm not going to say how much timing you can run, but I don't pull any timing until I reach 18psi when running methanol with a large cam. I also run a lot more advance off boost.
  18. KTM, don't you have the capability of controling extra injectors? If you can control the fjo injectors with your ecu, that would be the way to go. If you can't control the injectors, check out the entire FJO system.
  19. go to z31performance.com and download the autotrans mods in the drivetrain forum. a stock rebuild with a good valve body/shift kit, will easily hold with 12 sec runs. my guess is that you won't need a restall with that turbo. what i do is brake boost the car in second gear, then drop it in low when you want to go. the time in the sig is with a jatco auto. if want help in anyway let me know.

    fouled plugs will do that.
