  1. I can set you up with a z32 ecu. Pm me if you're interested.
  2. how much does the car weigh with that setup?
  3. Ryan take lots of pics, you're breaking trail for me. I'll be starting on the same setup in spring. Have you picked out a turbo? What trans are you going to run?
  4. You can tune the jwt ecu with nistune software and board or emulator.
  5. I've just finished tuning a rb26dett with gm wasted spark coils. They're mounted on the firewall with wires run to each cylinder. Running stock coil maps with ngk plugs. The engine makes around 600 to the wheels.
  6. What did that set you back? I have a manual valve body from them in my jatco. I also made my own bracket to use a pro ratchet shifter. If you pour the coals to a jatco run hydraulic fluid in it. No slipping at all at over 400whp.
  7. Check out nistune for the stock computer tuning info.
  8. Oh, I know what the answer is. Just stirring it up a bit.lol
  9. Were they a factory nissan racing team?
  10. You need to get the car down to 2000lbs and the engine to about 320hp. And one hell of a driver.
  11. Have you seen this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozbWf_QsPrw It's been done with electronically controlled transmissions for a number of years. No programming or shenanigans required. Install a shifter of your choice and have at it. Not sure about high load downshifts breaking anything but it will shift to whatever gear you tell it to at any time.
  12. I have headwork and a cam with a stock turbo bottom end. A holset 351cw made 400whp at 20psi. Same dyno but with a stock head I made 315 at 25psi. That is just a ballpark difference of course but that should give you an idea of what you can do with a head. I would install arp headstuds if you're changing the head anyway. That's my $0.02
  13. Follow RebekahZ's advice. He's right on the money. You might want to consider an auto swap if you're going to be drag racing exclusively. I have an auto with my L28ET and with 400whp and I hit 103 in the 1/8th mile and run 1.6 60ft times. All stock suspension.
  14. I'm curious what your trap speed is. What is the weight of the car? Can you post up your time slip?
  15. I moved the car out to sweep out the garage. Took 3hrs to clean. 15mins to sweep.... 2hrs 45 minutes to move the car. I left some road art in several places while moving the car........
  16. I have a stock unit in good condition. Pm me if interested
  17. Imo your converter is too tight. You need at least another 1000rpm to start with. I've never found that retarding timing works very well with an automatic. I used 32-36deg's timing, 13 ish or so afr's and the boost would come on hard. I also put the car into second gear to give it a higher stall and then dropped in low as I launched. I had full boost almost instantly. I now have a holset he351 that reaches full boost about the same time my foot hits the floor. I'm getting 1.6 second launches and running high 6's in the 1/8th at 20psi (low boost). The other thing you could do is go with a smaller exhaust which I've also tried on that turbo. You'll get boost a lot earlier but you give up a lot on the top end. That is with a bored stock turbine housing. An actual stage 3 turbine housing would probably boost almost as soon but you'd gain back some top end as well. With your current setup ironed out you should be running in the tens or low eleven's with good tires. It's unfortunate that L28 guys aren't drag racers as there's not much info to work with. Keep us posted with how it goes.
  18. Have you changed your plugs since you started tuning?
  19. Unless that ecu is tunable I wouldn't consider that a workable option. Don't you run a megasquirt?
  20. Elgin or Isky is where I would spend my money.
