  1. Where is the bang bang and flames? Are you doing the rich afr's with reduced timing on the 2 step? What rpms does your converter stall at? What rpms does the engine build boost at?
  2. Stock intake. What are your 60' times like?
  3. I ran that same turbo on my 83. My biggest issue was the torque converter with jatco auto. It was setup for 3k and I could have used a 3500 for better launches but it was still able to reach a 7.1 1/8th. I run an isky cam with a .470 lift cam with a 256 duration robello head.
  4. I've been waiting for someone to try this on the L28. Is the controller going to be available for purchase or is it a one off for yourself?
  5. Yes it is. I bought the car like that. It's been sliced in the middle then glassed back together.
  6. I have a z32 cas installed into a turbo L distributor. I think they're the same or very similar. Have to drill a few holes and install a sleeve inside the z32 cas to keep it snug on the shaft.
  7. It got warm enough to take the z out for a ride on Sunday. The track number is still on it from last year.
  8. Huh weird that is. I'll have to look at it again. I'll try it again tomorrow if I can find the bell housing.
  9. I have a KA bell housing in my garage and it won't bolt up to the L28.
  10. I've tuned a couple of RB20's with nistune. Works very well.
  11. I happen to have an unused .63 housing machined(and used for a short time) for that very turbo. PM me if you're interested.
  12. I'd like to see someone install a Holset variable vane HE351VE. As good as or better than stock spool along with high end flow. The turbo has few downsides to it like the weight and how to control the vanes or rather how to tune them to what the L28 needs. Best setup other than the stock electronics I've seen is using exhaust back pressure and an internal wastegate actuator connected to the arm that controls the vanes in the turbine housing. The exhaust housing can flow enough for a 5 liter v8 and be brought down to enough to fully spool a 2.0 liter 4 cyl.
  13. I have a set. Pm me if you're interested.
  14. I have an issue where my son decided that he wanted to view the forum in a theme that makes me want to stab my eyes out. I cannot find the settings to change it back to the original theme I had. The forum looks normal to me if I'm logged out but logging in brings back the nightmare theme. It's very similar to the phone app view. Need some guidance. So I see a grayed out "Full Version" button at the bottom of each page. It's not active, so any other way of getting back to the full version? Or is this just the way the forum now looks? It looked like the ratsun.net forums looked before the change. Logging out brings back the previous format.
  15. Here's a link to a diy setup that works fairly well. http://www.uprev.com/documentation/Knock%20Listen%20Device.pdf I've use both electronic and a hose attached with a bolt to the block. Next year I'm going to run the knock sensor into a laptop. Here's a link to how that sounds. http://soundcloud.com/immy21/timing-added-short
  16. The stock bottom end will handle that turbo, go with the tuneable efi.
  17. Yep, I use a z32 ecu on my L28.
  18. Stony if you want a known good ignitor I have one I can send over. It's case is broken so I wouldn't use it as a permanent solution but it does work. Pm me your address and I'll send it over.
  19. So what does the 3k hughes stall at?
  20. Interesting that the gm converter rated at 3k for a v8 also stalls at 3k with the L engine. Good to know.
  21. I turn the boost down to 15psi when the wife takes the z out for a ride.
  22. you mean like this?: http://"http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v186/280zedx/P0001470.jpg"
  23. Never thought to look there. That's what I wanted. Thank you sir.
