  1. Actually there have been updates if you look at the forum http://forum.missbelvedere.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=174&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=30
  2. it was 3.18 when I got gas for a friend. Should I be glad that i can WALK to work? (I live like...not even a 1/4 mile away from work)
  3. Hmm if you want to cover the drive shaft, you might as well make a belly pan and get a bit of added aero dynamics eh?
  4. I never liked using side mirrors. they're OK, but I feel like you should actually turn and LOOK to see what's there. Those raydots would look nice if they were mounted a little higher
  5. I had a pair of eyeglasses that color. I think that might look good for the taillight panel, but I think it would be neat if all the chrome on a Z was that hyperblack chrome stuff
  6. You don't always get flames. sometimes it's just a bit of smoke. At night though it would be more noticable if they were flames. I would think that the muffler would suppress any flames though. I know on my bug, if I turned off the ignition switch while cruising, then just kick it back on, it would shoot out quite a large flame haha. those aren't really mufflers though..it's more like a can with a couple pipes tacked on.
  7. I think it probably has safety's built in to prevent some issues, and of course, the whole door getting stuck after many years. I think this is something designed more for upper class people/limo/escort services, where maintenance would be top priority.
  8. actually it translates quite well to me. On a 2 minute lap the GT-R gained 5 seconds on the other cars. Now, if it continues to gain distance, on a track that's 3 times longer, that would translate to about 15-17 seconds. the only way it would only be 5 seconds total, is if after the GT-R gained 5 seconds, it suddenly slowed down to the pace of the other cars. I guess we can use this example. I'll round the numbers for simplicity say, the GT-R does a 1:55 and the Vette does a 2:00 now, onto lap two they do the same times. 1:55+1:55=3:50 2.00+2.00=4:00 so the gt-r in 2 laps did 3 minutes 50 seconds. the vette did it in 4 minutes. that makes the GT-R now 10 seconds ahead of the vette. After one more lap, if the lap times don't change, the GT-R will then be 15 seconds ahead of the vette. So really the times translate perfectly.
  9. The stock intake with the snorkel taken off looks like it goes right where all those cold air intakes do.
  10. It buzzes because it runs off a 2 stroke engine. it'd dead silent when running on pure electricity though XP that thing IS awesome. I saw it before, but never on ICE. It moves so realistically when it's regaining balance and stuff.
  11. you can get them on ebay for like 20 bucks for a set of 6. They're the same plugs as for the injectors, so just look for something like 280z injector harness or 280z injector plugs.
  12. The problem is you're trying to UPLOAD the picture form an external source. DON"T do that. instead use the BB code and use the{img} brackets (but the regular[]) I changed the size a bit and cropped it a little.
  13. A tool box built into the cage would be pretty cool. Just make sure it has very strong locking things to make sure it doesn't open up (words fail me right now) It wouldn't look like it's out of place, and at the same time, would be extremely useful.
  14. Basically making a sort of pressure box right? There's a guy my dad knows with a notchback VW that runs I THINK in the 9's (it does at least 140 in the 1/4) anyways, he has both his carbs fully sealed in a pressure box, with naca ducts running to them. He said that it gets up to around 3lbs of pressure on his runs, so I suppose even that would help the car get a little more power. Especially on a really high compression N/A car.
  15. I looked at your cage and saw that a lot isn't tied directly into the main section very well. Back protection isn't as necessary as you're building it, so I made a few modifications to your design to what I think would make it lighter and possibly more rigid. Red is deletion and blue is addition. the X you made while a good idea, isn't really needed. If you took that out, and instead, from the center bar on the outsides, made diagonals that mounted to the transmission tunnel I think it would help make the car more rigid overall, since it makes the rollcage tie directly into that central point. Also, for the rear, I'm not really sure where your mounting point is. Is it just the body? You don't have to worry about the rear of the car. In an accident, the car will be toast. You want more focus on the driver than the car. Instead of having it extend so far back without really tying into the strut towers, it doesn't make the car overall stronger (in my opinion) BUT if you were to take those 2 bars, and weld them to the strut bar you have, that would in my opinion, make it stronger as a whole, The two bars you have tying at the center I think is a good idea though. The single center bar between the two, not such a good idea. The best thing to do I think would be to find some way to tie your differential directly into your cage by somehow finding a way to bring the cage to the diff, and making some sort of custom solid bracket for it. That will reduce the twisting action of the diff to basically none, and should help with transfering torque (Not 100% sure on that, but when we put the roll bar into my dad's bug, it tied directly to the transmission frame horns, and his car was able to take off so much faster, that the first time out, his car red lit by over 1 tenth. He had to do a lot of re-adjusting to his car because it was able to put down the power so much harder) I'm not a fabricator and have never built a cage, but I do love engineering. this is just my opinion on things, and I'm not really sure if I'm correct on my assumptions.
  16. So would I. Nice ripe one's. they aren't that great when they get old
  17. I do the same thing driving my mom's car. I try to hit the clutch and I'm like, "oh....it's gone" I also have the habit of keeping my right hand on the shifter in her car, and auto and I look at it and thing, "Stupid thing only goes forwards and backwards...." Auto's are no fun, but learning in a 360 might not be a good idea. I think the easiest car to learn a stick in, is in an OLD vw bug. That's what I learned in. those cars seem to be very forgiving.
  18. Wow, I didn't know they made an RL530 Z! haha I dont' know how people could mistake a clear S as a 5
  19. I know my dad's 66 Impala with a 283 got a recall when it was new for limiting chains because apparently without them it was breaking mounts.
  20. maybe THAT explains why the colors aren't all the same. Even though my car was running crappy due to an improper AFM, all the plugs but the one on my leaking injector were exactly the same (but this is NA) I've heard a lot of bad things about those venom injectors.....Unless somehow Phils are good ones? (is that even possible?)
  21. I wonder if anyone in AZ has a plate saying Harumi on it. If not, I'm getting it for my car. It is her name after all. then again, some people might mistake it as a chick named harumi driving a Z haha. I do have sorta long hair.
  22. There's a grammar Nazi in us all. Kind of like how there's a little child in us all screaming "Go faster go faster!!"
  23. I just like using Fire Fox for that. It has a built in spell checker that underlines misspelled words in red. Not 100% perfect, but for general spelling mistakes it works pretty well.
