  1. Good call, I didn't think about that. I never drove it with the stock linkage, I had about 1" of slop in my linkage and I wanted to fully shave my manifold as well as have a 'crisp' throttle. If you don't port the intake to match the TB, low throttle open % is super choppy, so definitely do that.
  2. Do you have a 60mm TB on your car? I don't think my 240SX TB is any hindrance whatsoever to the driveablilty of my car. However, I wouldn't suggest doing it to a stock car. I think that's a waste of money, especially if you are going to use the stock linkage. I did it to convert to cable throttle and have an input for MegaSquirt. I would suggest getting new springs/struts/bushings before anything else [besides regular maintenance, obviously].
  3. My PO took mine out. I thought I'd only drive mine in the warm months, but sometimes you get that "Z itch" to drive. I'd put it back in. It's not going to really make your car faster to leave it out, and having it when you need it is way better than regretting you took it out. My $0.02
  4. Not really Those are my old rims that I use to "play around" with. It's really easy to get 205 bald street tires loose haha Tomorrow I'm going to bring the new car home to Fayetteville and do some clean-up on it. My Dad has expressed interest in getting an S30 [i had no idea he was even interested until yesterday], so I think I'm going to make it drivable, then give it to him to drive around. I don't plan to swap until the winter when it's too cold to drive. The passenger door won't open and the driver's is really stubborn. Little things like that. I'm also 90% certain that the front diff mount rubber is completely destroyed.
  5. Nah dude, this car isn't getting stripped. I require a more civilised Z experience. Flatty's seats, a new dash cap, my new steering wheel, and it'll look just like Flatty inside. This new car's door panels are way better than Flatty's. Best part: it was undercoated in the 80s, the battery tray and floorboards have NO holes in them! This is a first for me haha. It's weird having a battery tray. I still can't decide if I want to loose the 78 deck in the new car. Hmph.
  6. Got the new shell running/driving today. It's also a 78. It came with a 78 parts car. It's for sale Pre-wash: Post-wash: Interior [Eww]:
  7. Exactly ^^ haha [i was waiting for the punch line that never came] Cool story, usually only guys come up to my car to drool over it.
  8. Check your driveshaft to diff yoke bolts. I've had them come loose on me before.
  9. Grim, I'm over in Fayetteville at Steve Fowler's shop. I've got several for sale. $75, no shipping but I might be able to meet you somewhere if you throw up gas $$$ - Mat
  10. If you know how much these people get paid, this wouldn't surprise you. It's a national chain, if you want "good old home service," you'll have to pay for it. Ooorrr you could've called MSA and had them overnight/2 day ship a SS one? Advanced is not the only option here. Just saying...
  11. I've got one in Northwest Arkansas, it's in pretty poor shape but I would get rid of it for cheap.
  12. Thin Crust... Supreme! Rally car question: G5 or Open Light? [basically: fast 2WD or really slow AWD?]
  13. You made an entire thread for a joke but you don't like to see a OT thread bumped?
  14. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/23244-megasquirtnspark-mssmsns-installation-guide/ I figured the 12V pullup resistor for the input back to MS would tell you what it is.
  15. Barbed vs. O-ring. I have VR-4 Mitsubishi injectors and they are O-ring...... I think most cars have "actual fuel rails."
  16. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/55910-injector-opening-times-spread-sheet/
  17. I had some brake wobble after the S12+8 swap, so I bought some new rotors. I have been busy/lazy lately, but yesterday I finally got around to getting them on. The wobble is gone and the brakes are really front biased [my other rotors were pitted]. I'm going to look into some upgraded rear drum options, I'm not ready to do rear discs yet. A guy on my local forum has a 86 Z31T parts car that he's parting out, I might be buying the VG30ET/T5 out of it this week. If I get it, I'm going to sell my L28ET and run my N/A-T until I have the VG30ET ready to go in. I'll have pictures if I get this motor this week.
  18. I make you great deal! Only $100 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/34536-megasquirt-map-information-sharing-all-code-versions/ People usually just piece together their own maps from looking at similar setups.
  19. People that put large stickers on their cars are daft. Looks good, throw it on there and get a picture for us!
  20. Hey there, just FYI we have a "MegaSquirt" subforum under Engine Components>EMS>MegaSquirt. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/forum/34-megasquirt/ You can't see it from the main page, yet another thing to make the new site more confusing for the new guys Unfortunately I have no idea how the 2.2 boards work so I can't help you :/
