  1. Air dam. [i like traveling at interstate speeds without wobbling] Carb'd SBC or T3 L28ET
  2. What throttle body are you using? How are you getting TPS signal?
  3. I had mine adjusted at a shop, unfortunately I don't know what to tell you. Here is a fantastic write-up by a Dirty Impreza member [who also owns an S30] about the defects/manufacturing defects that are so common in our OBS units. http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showthread.php?p=231318#post231318
  4. Um. It'll just look like an R200? I have a picture of my car with a snapped U-Joint when i took it to the track after installing the OBX. Can't find it at the moment though.

  6. Not what he's looking for, that's an N/A dizzy. Hey, if you're still looking Zdude I've seen a GM HEI Module work in place of the ignitor.
  7. Because you're looking for things to be wrong with the car... It's a "0."
  8. The only way you're going to 'hurt' an L28 is with det or running it without oil. Beat on that thing! It was made to be beat on!
  9. Poor Uni students buy Chinese [OBX HLSD ], not overpriced 200k mile CLSD Z31T diffs

  11. If you're strapped for cash, just throw the 4 speed in there. N/A Trannies are fine if you're pushing stock or near-stock power. I've been using a 78 5 Speed on my N/A-T for almost a year now. There is a guy from Houston that has been using 4 speeds pretty successfully. When he pops one, he just puts a new one in. Advantages of the 4 Speed: They are seriously dirt cheap. You can sometimes get money for getting them out of people's shops [Hey I'll give you $5 to come get mine ] Disadvantages: It's got a 1:1 4th gear, so Interstate cruising might not be prime. If you're a poor college kid like some of us, I doubt you'll be throwing a GT35R on anytime soon. IMO just use the stock driveline.
  12. What's "Dial-up?" There were no pictures of the engine bay [probably a good thing haha] The guy was just trying drift. It was pitifully slow, pushed like an open diff car, and had the N/A sound to the powerband.
  13. You can get a full turbo gasket kit at O'Rielly's [T3 flange gasket, DP flange gakset, oil inlet/outlet gaskets] for a 88 Merkur XRTi. It has an oil-cooled T3 and the full kit is ~$9. They also have the intake/exhaust manifold gasket in stock [at least every time I've bought one they've had it in stock].
  14. Have you checked this out? The 83 FSM has turbo stuff included, but I don't know if there is a separate Turbo FSM. http://www.xenons130.com/reference.html
  15. Let me guess... N/A L28 haha YEP That's ALOT of weight to be lugging around for a 150BHP motor. Sheesh. Did you see the interior?
  16. Maybe PM Savage? [i.e. The guy who is making these?]
  17. Wouldn't it be more likely he IS going lean and should check that stuff first? I'd check couplers and all the electrics thoroughly
  18. Check your connections on your VCM, a guy with a L28ET swapped S130 had connection problems with his 'boost module' and it kind of felt like what you are describing.
  19. My car clunks, Trumpet's car clunks, Cygnus' car clunks. This is a common problem, and S30's don't just randomly 'blow up.' I wouldn't/don't stress over it. Here's a thread that has people chiming in about their drivetrain slop: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/44745-differential-r200-rotational-play/page__p__705647__hl__drivetrain+play__fromsearch__1#entry705647
  20. Battery tray is gone, dog legs are gone, the spare tire well and hatch deck are salvagable, but I don't know how to weld. Basically my car looks comparable to when Austin [240Hoke] began his overhaul. He's skilled, and I am not The frame rail is what makes me want to just move on, it's now torqued [rotationally], which I know has messed with the body structure because the passenger side door is harder to close now. Anyone want to weld all that up for me
  21. It's a Z. At the time of purchase, the car had a 1 year old paint job and it ran and drove. I was new and didn't know what to look for. I know better now. I'm talking with a guy who will hopefully sell me a 78 that's been sitting in a shop for over 5 years. Frame rails, battery tray, everything looks AWESOME except the hatch deck and spare wheel wells, which are pretty ate up. I'll update as that happens.
  22. Are you saying they are using a centrifugal S/C on the LS9/LSAs? That looks like a 'Roots-style' to me. The article you linked even stated it had a roots type blower:
  23. Double check the driveshaft bolts, the driveshaft spins at the speed of the diff flange. It sounds like what happened to my car when the DS bolts loosened up. If not that, check your tires/wheel weights
