  1. I would imagine from this My floorboard was falling out of the car, so I cut it out. After the turbo swap, it's been getting worse and worse.
  2. The Z is kind of falling apart. I have two more events this season, then it is going down for a major overhaul. The engine smokes/eats oil, the tranny leaks, the passenger frame rail is getting twisted, and the driver's side door handle broke internally so I have to open the door from the inside. my new brake swap also vibrates really bad when warmed up. I picked up another 5 speed tranny for $40 this weekend [whooo]. My current one is leaking rather profusely. I am finally moving into a house where the Z will live inside a garage full time, so I plan on getting much done. Fall/Winter plans: * Swap in L28ET [i need to replace a few hydro lifters] and 'new' 5 Speed * Get my wideband working, but for reals this time. * Tune new setup * Probably swap turbos. My car smokes at idle occasionally and it's mega embarrassing. * Install rear struts that Trumpet has been holding hostage * Swap in new rotors? Fix whatever is vibrating the brakes. * CV swap or roll the dice on some solid U-joints. Probably the latter because I'm cheap. If given time/money/motivation: * Finish exhaust. It's getting old. Or maybe that's just me. * Mount dual Subaru e-fans * Re-shell? Paint? RH frame rail is tweaked so 464630's fate is sealed :/
  3. That's a DE. Not really a fan of all that extra weight in the back though.
  4. The new stuff looks great, Matt. Seeing all of you at BZF has made me look at the VG30ET swap a little harder now.
  5. I was talking about the Fiat. Also, those numbers are arbitrary, I was just guessing. I guess it's 170 HP. And they're bringing them here?? That could be cool http://fiat500usa.blogspot.com/2010/02/fiat-500-launch-dates.html
  6. Subarus use CVs... Look back a page: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/78123-subaru-wrx-sti-r180-side-axles/page__st__240
  7. I was thinking more of a Daily Driver. Zip around town in a 5 speed, 200HP, 2000 lbs car. It would be really fun, and all the gas money you save could go into Z parts.
  8. Why don't they sell 'hot hatches' in the states? I would drive the crap out of a Fiat 500 Abarth
  9. You can still get a running S30 for under $1000. You can't get any dime for under $1000. That's what I'm talking about.
  10. E70 Corolla. It's off the fanboi radar as far as I can tell. It looks like a dime to me
  11. That concept car makes me want to claw my eyes out. I'd agree with the 'hitting boost' comment. The S/C has a smoother, more predictable power delivery. And who needs more than 640WHP in a factory car, anyways??
  12. I don't understand your intake question. What are you asking about? Anyways, did a search for you. [i have personally read threads here where both questions have been covered] http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/85679-intake-manifold-clean-up-info/page__p__812855__hl__shaved+intake+manifold__fromsearch__1#entry812855 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/78935-removing-intakeexhaust-manifold-help/page__p__750023__hl__shaved+intake+manifold__fromsearch__1#entry750023 http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/75982-shaved-intake-280zx-now-wont-start/page__st__20__p__737550__hl__shaved+intake+manifold__fromsearch__1#entry737550
  13. What is your Legacy doing? And why did you get an automatic
  14. 220*??? Wow. Flat top F54, stock T3 ~9 psi. Non intercooled, I would see up to 190* in late summer. Installed a Volvo 740i FMIC with 2.25" pipes, I don't ever go above 90-95* IAT. Usually about 75*-80* if it's not 90*+ Ambient. IAT Sensor located directly before the throttle body in the IC piping.
  15. For checkwriters: SupraForums For DIYers/non-douches: SupraMania [As explained to me by my Turbo MKIII-owning flatmate]
  16. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/82371-my-notes-on-the-na-l28-to-turbo-swap/ Take a read through that, it might answer some questions. I was kind of poking fun of the newbs who still ask "can my R200 handle it." Many people are still using their N/A trannys [including this guy]. I had a pile of metal on my tranny drain bolt, but it's still ticking away over a year after my turbo swap. Run the stock components until you break them! [Which will probably be awhile] The open R200 will be fine I suppose, but I'd suggest putting an LSD up higher on your list than you thought. Maybe the next mod after you get the Turbo motor running reliably. After I installed my HLSD, I couldn't believe I waited 3 years to do it. If you are into super cheap alternatives to performance parts, check out the "OBX LSD Installation" sticky by TrumpetRhapsody. Several of us are using them with great results. Mine was $500 total after shop costs [swapping carrier bearings, setting backlash, etc] and the upgrade kit. Good luck on your project, it looks like you are on the right track!
  17. I think if Mr. Cramer approves [see: "Nicely done."] then you are good to go.
  18. The connectors are a very very good idea. I wish I would have used more. I know a certain extremely tall S30 owner who didn't put any in and has to balance his intake on top of his valve cover to change turbos What kind are you using?
  19. Wrong url maybe? Z31P has some very knowledgeable people over there, RacinJitter, Mike G, SATAN, StreetFighter, the list goes on and on... Delasangre, you should really check them out, you'll get many more replies to your Z31 chassis-specific questions. Also, good to hear you found your problem. Never trust a battery.
  20. Here is Tony D's post [sans bickering] for those who don't want to read a page full of rant: I don't think Jasper was questioning your unlimited knowledge...
  21. Tokico red springs [185/200 IIRC?] HP Blue struts 15x8s with 225/50/15 G-Force Sports Helical LSD [modified OBX] Suspension Techniques front sway bar, stock rear sway Poly bushings I don't find the car hard to turn at all. I used to have 205/55/15s. Bigger meat won't make much harder to turn, especially at speed. I'm running at an AutoX this Sunday with my new S12+8 Calipers [never used them on-track]. Can't wait. How long have you been racing?
  22. Well your springs are hugely stiffer than mine, but I've never have issues with oversteer. [i have a bit over 122HP ] How long have you been autocrossing? Also, are the courses really fast with long straights or mostly tight corners?
  23. My $0.02 Installing an LSD helps out in so many ways. After I put mine in, I wondered why I didn't do it much much sooner. Are you N/A?
