lol, i can play this... Getting up early in the morning and making the mad dash to the machine shop before work (which opens the same time work does) to drop off your block for cleaning and machining, make record time through traffic, pull up out the front of the shop, make a beautiful and fast reverse park by the door, pop the boot and........... Remember that you were supposed to put the block in the boot last night...... To top it off, i forgot my lunch that day too.

Australia!!!! Gawd! Not more americans....... Just kidding.. the Gold Coast, and Mackay QLD are very nice places. The gold coast has more of a 'young' scene, but its a lot busier because its part of a pretty big city. Some of the touristy things around mackay are awesome though, well worth the trip, once you get out on the reefs and do some diving you'll never forget it. http://maps.google.com.au/maps?client=firefox-a&channel=s&hl=en&ie=UTF8&q=makay+qld&fb=1&split=1&gl=au&ei=9YJISqO3II-PkAWWr63wCQ&ll=-21.105,149.360504&spn=0.798169,1.454315&t=h&z=10 Its only a few hours north from brisbane, so depending on how you plan your trip, you could still get in some memorable time around the malls and theme parks. -

Michael Jackson in the Hospital = heart arrest
Nizm0Zed replied to The love of JDM's topic in Non Tech Board
I hear McDonalds is doing a burger in his honour, the Jackson burger. a 50 year old peice of albino meat sandwiched between two 8 year old buns... and his dying wish was to be cremated, his remains would be melted down into a playstation, so the kids could keep playing with him.... i also heard that the hospital is unsure what to do with his remains, plastic recycling day isnt until tuesday... Seriously though, its a loss. he was a damn good artist, with some very good music. most of the radio stations locally have been playing a lot of his music, it was nice to hear it all again. -
im going to say what may of us are thinking. Your a liar, a big fat liar. Youve been welding for over 20 years and your just ♥♥♥♥ stirring us arent you? seriously, you have some insane skills there. it looks like it was done by a machine. If i could weld like that, id be showing everyone too....

we dont have nascar in oz, about the closest thing to it would be the V8 supercars, almost identical semi tube frame cars built to the saem strict regulations. they do proper race tracks though, not just oval courses. But my understanding of nascar was that its not about the driver anymore, its about the team as a whole. If one part of the team isnt up to scratch, it lets them all down. I guess that goes for any serious race team though...

ditto on the chair. One of the blokes i worked with had a modded wheelchair, he was pretty tall and used to use it when working on some jobs (and for smoko) He raised the chair to suit the average working height and stuffed a couple of trays on the side for parts and tools. It was pretty ghetto. But, back to the topic. If you increase the height of the stand, you need to increase the wheelbase by the same amount. IMO, you will be more comfortable with a small stool on wheels.

An aussie man's poem..... "You $h!t me to tears, im going to the pub."

yea, i see that in the pics now. as for a heat sheild, you only need an air gap of about 5mm for it to be effective

^^^^ That was a pretty crap pun....

im curious why you want to put a bike motor in a car? Im not having a go at all (i love oddball projects) but have you considered that bike motors dont make much torque, which is what you will need to get it moving. Also, the bike crankcase and gearbox casing are often integral parts, if you shock load the whole thing too much (fast launch, burnouts ect) you risk cracking the casings. The larger the inital mass of the car, the more likely you are to have those two issues. the shock loading and cracking risk can also be increased with wider/stickyer tyres.

your going to have some heatsoak problems with the 1st and possibly the second runners, and probably also on the 5th and 6th runners if the design is symetrical. I would suggest HPC coating the exhaust manifold and if there is space, make up a heat sheild between the two manifolds. I can see that the heat shield option wont be easy though. That aside, the whole thing is looking awesome, i wish i had you as my auto teacher, mine was just obsessed with old chevs...

in the second pic your wearing the wrong socks.....

clean???????? but seriously, we used to use truckwash. I have no idea what it was actually called, thats just what we called it. hot water and the mop allways seemed to work better though.

i think the scariest thing about it is after you have fumed them out and you realise just how many of the little bastards there are....

i normally use a deoderant can and a lighter. flaming death!!!! Clears out the webs, and roasts the bugs. any flammable spray you use, test fire first on wall or something, you want something that doesnt leave burning residue. Also, dont fire around the fuel tank hose connections, if there is any leakage, it'll be there. as for keeping them away, a friend of mine drops a couple of those aerosol bug bombs in his garage every 6 months or so. he just keeps all the doors shut, and the cars all opened up in the garage. he says it has almost completely gotten rid of his bug problem, but i dont know if the chemicals could have any effect on a nice paintjob over time?

hmm, what tranny does an Abrams have? you could get away at a comfortable yet unstoppable 45mph

best advice i was given as a two wheel terror? "allways ride like EVERYONE is out to kill and maim you in the most painful ways possible, Anticipate EVERY possible action of others on the road" with that attitude, it has kept me safe and out of trouble. and i can conciously think of several situations that would have ended badly if i didnt ride like that, all situations where the other motorist would have caused the accident.

i would say you would get some massive interest from a US based skyline club too. half a shipping container would make you a nice little bit of cash. only drawbacks i see to your plan? 1. you'd need an agent stateside to handle the sales and freight of the shortblocks, you'd have to pay them, either a comission on sales, or a flat rate. 2. you'd need facilities to store them, that'd be part of sorting out an agent though. 3. you may have trouble getting buyers at the moment. the us market is copping a bit of a hiding at the moment. a lot of your potential sales wouldnt want to be spending money at the moment.

I was driving home the other day and saw an old nissan ute, with 'nissan' stamped into the gate, in smaller letters. i think it would look good done the same way, but as a small peice off to one side. maybe put on the right hand side, with the exhaust on the left side. But, yours is looking damn good. thumbs up!!! edit, found a pic. not a brilliant pic, but the nissan bit is raised. D21 Nissan Navara.

Z8RED, can you please put up the 'before' pics of your belly pan/diffuser in your new aero thread. I have looked around the site, and it seems that the origional pics you put up have disspeared. I would really like to see how you have done it, as i am toying with the idea of making a belly pan.
