  1. Yeah Im looking at that 280 going hmmmmmmm.......yup LS1 and its done! LOL Looks nice inside and outside! I wish I had $8K laying around! Thats the kind of car to start with.......little to no body work and little to no interior work needed! Just the motor swap and your done! Guy
  2. Just remember the guys who "know it all" now are the guys who will be asking questions later because they were too busy "knowing how to do everything" when they should have been asking questions! That's my experice with guys who "know it all" The guys from my class (tech) who knew how to do everything were without a doubt the most annoying guys because they would try to answer every question and when they werent right they would try to arrgue their point on why they were right and why the teacher was wrong! Yeah it gets old but remember those are the guys who no one wants to talk to in a work environment because people get sick of hearing about "how things should be done". Trust me on this, we have a tech like that and nobody can BS with him because he's too busy trying to act like MR. KNOWN IT ALL! If you really like the machininst job stick with the schooling and before you know it, you'll be working and wishing you were back in school! LOL Guy
  3. Actually the Ram trucks are going to have an optional 6 speed tranny behind them this year. So That should bolt right up the HEMI in your car. However it will require some serious mods. There are a ton computers on board and Im sure some serious programming will be needed so that all the modules dont go nuts thinking its supposed to have a AUTO and not the manual. Not to mention you'll have to cut up the nice interior. I havent heard of the Magnums coming with a manual tranny but Im sure the Chargers will. And the Charger will have the optional SRT-8 package too! 425HP 6.1L HEMI!!!!!!! Whoooooooooooo Baby! Guy
  4. Let me put it this way....... I havent heard that and no one at my shop has heard that. Including our lead tech, who is one of Chyrslers best technicans(Im not kidding on this, Chyrsler actually calls him sometimes to see if he has figured out problems with vehicles that have become common but unsolved). So I would have to say no there is no break in period but I cant say that with a 100% guarantee. I will say this, that engine is just begging for a supercharger! There's plenty of room under the hood! Guy
  5. A half an inch of differnece in the rear is not too bad but if it was adjustable I would adjust it. However you were only doing it with a tabe measure. I would take it to a shop and have the alignment checked. A machine is much more accurant than a tape measure! As for that feeling your getting. If the rear alignment is that far off you are probably "dog tracking." Which basically means the rear end isnt following the front end and that could be why it feels so loose in the rear. Guy Guy
  6. Being that I am a tech at a Dodge dealership I have had the privlage of driving a HEMI Magnum aka RT. I love the looks of it just stock but I think if it had some nice chrome wheels it would look even better. As for power, yeah its got a butt load but it does feel like the computer is limiting it which it is because they have torque management even with the traction control tuned off. I know with the 03' HEMI Rams it can be modified with out a computer edit but Dodge fixed that for the 04'+ Rams so I would imagine that is no longer an option and some computer editing will be needed. The MDS(multiple displacement) HEMI's are pulling down low to mid 20's MPG, same as the 3.5L so dont buy the 3.5 thinking that you will save on gas cause you wont. Plus the 3.5L just isnt as fun to drive. Dont get me wrong the 3.5L is a great engine(very few problems with them) but the HEMI is a much better choice. I also think there is a lot more room that it looks like from the outside. It looks like 4 adults could sit in it comfortably no problem. Oh and my girlfriend also thinks that they look like a Hurse, which they kinda do! LOL Guy
  7. I take it the misfire is gone? Guy
  8. I kinda figured that money would be better spent else where. I think I will just buy a stock one and leave it like that. Anybody have a stock one in good condtion lying around that they want to get rid of? Guy
  9. I need to get a MAF for my LT1 and I dont know if I should just get a used stock MAF or should I spend the money and get an aftermarket one? I just dont want to spend $250 for a MAF if I am not going to see really any gains in power. Thanks, Guy
  10. Dont you have access to a lab scope at school? This would really help with diagnosing a misfire when its not obvious? Guy
  11. Sorry I havent posted any info yet.......I keep forgeting to look it up. I'll try my best to remember on Monday. Guy
  12. I tried to do a search but I cant seem to find any venders. I keep coming up with serach pages that lead me to new search pages. I did email a guy that I found on ebay who seems to be a vender of Konig rims. I havent got an email back yet though. Guy
  13. Wow that must have been a fun cruise with all those nice cars! Vipers, Lotus, C6's, and not to mention all those LS1 powered beasts! Very nice pics indeed! Guy
  14. Well the reason I think it came off is because my grease cap on that front wheel popped off and I think thats why it fell off. I would JB weld them in but that would make it awful hard to balance them. Guy
  15. Last time I shipped something that was about that big I just used UPS. However at the time I had been doing a lot of selling on Ebay so I was in the UPS store every other day so I was buddy buddy with the guy behind the counter. So since the package didnt weight that much he just rang it up and the driver just picked it up and put it in the truck. I know this isnt what you were looking for but if your buddy buddy with the guy at the UPS store you might be able to get the same kind of deal! Guy
  16. Do a search for these memebrs name "80LT1" "RossC" "Gremiann" "spdsk8r" "zeeboost" "dan c" these are all that I can remember right now. We have all done SBC swaps into 280ZX's. There is no magical list for what you need as far as what stays and what goes. It all depends on the drivetrain of choice. Guy
  17. Just out of curiosity did you have the motor apart at all? Like did you have the timing chain off? If so are you sure you set your timing right? Guy
  18. So do you know if you getting spark or not? Guy
  19. Hey I just saw the update. Looking very nice. I cant wait to see that thing running. Atleast I will have a chance to see a GNZ in person. I would have loved to see Scotties but it was way too far to drive and now its only a memory. Guy
  20. I too was waiting for a punch line. If someone took as much as she did from me and my son(if I had one) I would deffinetly do what Sparky said! Its the least that she deserves. Sorry to hear this man, hope it all works out for you in the end. Guy
  21. Just to add one to Tims list... *Are you getting oil pressure? If not it will not let the injectors fire because if you have less than minimum oil pressure it will not send power to the fuel pump enable wire. I know my Street & Performance harness was wired this way. Oh and I think there are only like 2 power feed wires on the harness? And like Tim said make sure you ground the engine to the chassi. I had some weird electrcial problems untill I grounded my engine with 2 ground straps. Guy
  22. I'll try to find some info on SHOPKEY tomorrow at work. Anyone know what kind of car this 350C tranny came in? Was it stock in your 84' Monte SS, Dr Hunt? I will try looking it up under that car. Guy
  23. Do you have the plug that should connect to the tranny? or are there just 4 wires sticking out of the tranny? What color are the wires? Guy
  24. I seem to have lost one of my center caps for one of my Konig Monsoon rims:oops:. I am really having a hard time finding someone who sells the center caps. I dont care if I have to buy a set of 4 but I would like to find atleast one! If anyone knows of someone sells them please post the info here! Thanks, Guy
  25. So Tim its safe to say you will be installing one of these high tech superchargers on your car? Heck you could install 2 and instead of twin turbos you could have twin superchargers! Guy
