What Makes 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over 100%. How about achieving 103%? What makes up 100% in life? Here's a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions: If: A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z is represented as: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26. Then: H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K 8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98% and K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E 11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96% But, A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E 1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100% And, B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T 2+21+12+12+19+8+9+20 = 103% AND, look how far *** kissing will take you. A-S-S-K-I-S-S-I-N-G 1+19+19+11+9+19+19+9+14+7 = 118% So, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that, while Hard work and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there, it's the Bullshit and *** Kissing that will put you over the top. No he's looking for one of the newer ones. They are more like $200 used and $250 new. I have one but I live in WI so I guess I cant borrow it to you, but I would if I could! Why do you need one Scottie? Trying to see how accurate it is? Guy

Glad to hear everything came out ok! My parents said the same thing about driving a tank for a first car. My first car was a 1986 Ford Crown Victoria LTD with a 302 EFI. Man I hated that car with a passion! SUCKED the gas down like no tomorrow and was just enourmous(atleast I thought so) Now I've never been in a serious accident but there were a few close calls back in the day. I think cars today are much safe that older ones no matter how big and heavy the old one were. Now instead of massive amouts of steel, car manufactures are using smarter ways of protecting the passengers. I too feel like that if I were to get say t-boned by someone in my 280ZX that I would be in trouble. I do have a four point roll bare and may some day upgrade to cage so that should help in a roll over. I just hope I never have to use that rollbar! Guy

I too am wondering the samething about how much difference I will notice from the stock weight(not sure on weight?) to my new Fidanza alluminum flywheel(11.5lbs). The reason I bought mine was because I got a really good deal on the flywheel and SPEC stage 3 clutch. Otherwise I would have gone with a billet steel flywheel like originally planned. Any more input from other memebers is appreciated! Guy

Well I had 2 bets for the SB......#1. I gave a guy at work 6 1/2 points and I took the Pats for $20.......lost that one! #2. I was in a pool where you at up the last 2 numbers of the score and that equals the winning number(ie. 7-7 at the half, so 4 would be the winner because 7+7=14 and the end of the game 5 won....21+24= 45) I had 2! If the guy that caught the last interception would have ran it in I would have won $125! But nooooooooooooo he took a digger(which was the smart thing to do but didnt help me at all!) So how did you guys come out? Guy

I had the same problem with my ZX conversion. It ended up being that I needed more grounds from the engine to the body. Sometimes it would start no problem but sometimes it would seem like the battery was dead? Finally one day while trying to get it started I noticed that my throttle cable(steel braided, Lokar unit) was very warm after repeated trys at starting it. Then it hit me like a freight train...........I dont have the engine grounded enough and its going throught the throttle cable as a ground! Besides more grounds never hurt! Guy

Its nice that you ordered that stuff but you will soon find out that a motor swap is pretty expensive for a Z32. The SBC will fit but it seems like it takes more fabrication than an older Z. Just a heads up! Now I know you have the LT1/T56 but the LS1 has been done and there is even a conversion manual floating around for it. I tried to find the members name but couldnt. It something like "Aladshwan" Someone should know who I'm talking about. Guy

Well I dont think that will be a daily driver! LOL Here's what I think.......me personally I like having a car that I can drive to work and have a ton of fun on the way. With that car there is no way you could drive that on the road with out getting pulled over every 10 miles. Dont get me wrong I think that car is very cool but I like having cars that I can drive every day. Is the Z only a track car? And what is the intended purpose of the new car? Do you just want to restore it and sell it? If thats the case then I say go for it! Build it up and sell it and buy a really nice 240Z! Guy

WOW! I dont know what I would do if that happened to me? Especially if it was at home and I did it. I would have no way of recouping the cost to fix it. Atleast the shop working on it is responsible and he shouldnt have to pay to fix it! Man that is one nice cage in there! I sure wouldnt be affraid to get in an accident with that thing covering me! What kind of power goals is this car looking at? Guy

JB weld will hold the pressure but it sure wont take that heat. I had the same issue with my drivers side header on my car mating up to teh exhaust piping. Even with 2 gaskets in there it still leaked. I finally had to remove the manifold and have it milled flat. Problem fixed. I would take the turbo off and see if the turbo flange is warped or the exhaust manifold is warped. Maybe you'll be lucky and it will be the turbo and you can have that milled flat? Atleast then you wont have to take off the exhaust manifold! Guy

It should, they are both Gen 1 SBC. The 86' and up I believe area 1 piece rear main, but that shouldn't affect the actual bolting up the tranny. I dont know if you will need "special" clutch set up though? And I doubt the bolt pattern on the 88' T5 is different from the 91' T5 Guy

$11,000 isnt too bad of an asking price for a completed LS1 swap in a Z32.........atleast if you ask me! Just depends on the quality of workmanship. Guy

I have the video downloaded and to be honest I wasnt impressed with the acceleration or topspeed of it. REALLYYYYYYYYY slow off the line and 135 isnt too impressive considering is got a turbine engine! 135 is easy with a SBC and a lot cheaper! Dont get me wrong the fabrication is impressive! Just not bang for your buck if you ask me. Guy Guy

I would love a calender! I just noticed the same thing on an SRT-4 site(I was cruising the site for some info on performance parts for the SRT-4's since the owner of the car that I will be installing the parts wont do it!) So when and where is the contest going to be held? New post or still in this one? Guy

I would use the tach out put signal from the PCM(RED CONNECTOR...A13)( I think you got your connectors mixed up....A13 is the tach output and B2 is the low res. signal from the opti). It should be a white wire(it is for a 95' Z28 LT1) I dont know if you will need the resistor or not since I am using an Autometer tach? As far as I know a ground is a ground. But power I would wired up to different fuses. That way it will be easier to diagnose problems later. Not to mention not all the powers are rated at the same ampres. Like the injector fuse is rated at 7.5A and the oxygen sensors have a 10A rating. You dont want to protect a circuit that is rated at 10A max with a 7.5A or vise versa. Guy -

Thanks guys! I asked a guy at work today to hook me up with a laptop with 1Ghz processor, serial port, dial up modem, and a CD-ROM for less that $500. I think it'll be way less than $500 though. He's said it wont be a problem. Now all I need to do is get my new fuel system in and put the drivetrain back in so I can get the new harness wired in! Guy -
I know I asked this question a few months ago but the tread must have got lost when the site switched over to the new format. I tried to search the tunercat website but no info there..... Soooooo, what kind of laptop do I need to run TunetCat and program my PCM? Do I need a moduem? and a CD rom? I just need some basic specs so I can tell a guy at work so he can "hook me up" LOL Thanks guys! Guy

I didnt mean that if your .08 or less yo should be driving. I just thought thats what the "limit" was for? I personally think drinking and driving should be treated like attempted man slaughter. I hate hearing about some a-hole who thought he was ok to drive but wasnt, killing a whole family. I wish the laws were tougher and hopefully some day they will be. Yah I drink occasionally but me and my friends ALWAYS pick someone to be the "Double D". Sometimes its me sometimes its not but we NEVER EVER drink and drive! Its just not worth it. No to mention that if I got a DUI it would be very hard to get a job as an auto tech because of the insurance the dealership has to have to have a tech with a DUI on record. Guy

How can they even call it a DUI if he was under the limit? I thought thats what the limit was for, so that they can say "yah your driving under the influence or no your not driving under the influence" Guy
