  1. Simon, assuming your 2+2 is 2875lbs with you in it, with 250 RWHP and good traction etc, I estimate you running 103.67 MPH or a 13.148 in the quarter. Look here: http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/4601/hpcalc.html Just one estimate method.... CorZette 8)
  2. Cool, thanks for the input guys. I guess I will go with the 2+2 280Z Booster since its bigger.....
  3. Guys I found two part numbers an 8 1/2 inch booster for a 78 280Z #53-5104 from AutoZone and a 10 inch booster #53-5065. I am upgrading from the 240Z unit to this. My question is does the 280 Brake Booster have the same 4 studs coming out the front like the smaller 240 unit does that will be a direct bolt on to the 240 master Cylinder? They are the same right? Pete you out there? Any one else done this swap? PLease advise... CorZette
  4. Mike, I specifically told AFR What cam and setup I was building (just like the one on thier site). He said the springs out of the box were fine for that build. I paid $1250 for the heads ported etc out of the box and $140 for match porting the AFR intake I got with it seperate $195 I think plus shipping. I bought directly from AFR. It was a patience game because they said they had to make them but I am happy with them. No problems at all yet except that damn 700R4 shifting woes....like your old one was. CZ
  5. Mike I hate to be an ass but I know you would have loved the AFRS, I mean 450HP off the crank from a 350 40 over isnt too shabby. Im sure your Canfields will work just maybe a little more expensive to duplicate. Lets us know how she runs down the track. Terry
  6. D75, definately plug all vaccuum lines and then set your throttle cable idle screw in or out to desired RPM and reset your idle air fuel screws again. It should be fine. With open headers its hard to tell whats lope and whats not. After I put my mufflers on most of the lope went away. Open headers sounded like rump rump rump rump.... CZ
  7. So if my idle vaccuum is 13 I would divide by 1/2 and add .5 right? I would need a 7 power valve or 6.5 right? I have a 4.5 in there now so maybe thats the culprit....still made 380 RWHP Corzette
  8. Mine gets exactly 7.2 MPG cruising around. Dont know on the highway yet...I have a 750DP though with 71/80 jets. I changed them to 68/76 so far because it was so rich. It seemed to help. Can I go lower on the secondaries without trouble. I heard deJetting is not such a good thing because it makes the carb run lean at full throttle under load....Is this true? CZ
  9. The comment V8s are slow.....Im kinda pissed!!!
  10. Thats what Im talking about...great run! Whats the RWHP?
  11. I have a question...I have the 750DP and the stock jetting was 71 front 80 rear. It was rich as piss so I went to 68 front 76 rear so far. It is still rich but not as bad. Should I go down more? What was your stock jet sizes? CZ
  12. Yeah, welcome to Texas! I will be inbound on the 18th. The car ships out on the 10th and will arrive in Dallas around the 21st of November. I can't wait. Good luck in school, it will all be worth it later. By the way, the military does pay 100% tuition up to Bachelors now... Corzette
  13. Scottie, I don't why (lol) but I hook up just fine. There is very minimal tire spin (like almost none) when I take off. I am running Nitto extreme drag radials 555r, 275 -50-15s. I really like them alot. They hook well on the street so track should be even better. Is this a rare thing? CZ
  14. Jap Tin, I wish I was going to California so I could see your car. I am going to Texas, 2200 feet elevation. I am at sealevel here in Oki so I am sure I will lose a little power at the higher altitude... CZ
  15. By the way I wouldnt be surprized if you were running 450+ from the rear. The way these guys here are getting power out of there cars, 450 from a twin turbo is a little low....you know who Im talking about. Hell theres a guy I just talked to that says hes putting out almost 400 to the rear from a 20DET turbo 4 banger. Turbos are cool with no limits....I know its all about money CZ
  16. The car went on the port today for that long trip back home. Yeah I know those numbers are just estimates, but theres nothing a little NOS won't cure. Well as long I decide to stay naturally aspirated. Then theres that 383 or 406 thing to ponder...With a little more work 10s should be a piece of cake. I do plan on buying another engine after I get my frame issues and axles issues fixed. Probably a solid rear as well. Hell the skys the limit then. Money is not an issue at this point so it will be fun. I think I should just find a chassis already built and go from there. This car will be my little 11 sec N/A daily driver. I can build a more serious one soon! What if I turboed a 406?....lol CZ
  17. Well according to all the calculations I input my Z should run the following times: Vehicle Weight 2660 Rear Wheel Horsepower 379.4 Estimated E.T (sec.) 11.1486 Trap Speed 122.26 Just estimates but at least I know Ill be running 11s.... CZ.....now for a shot of NOS.... Lets say only a 75 shot and only 50 HP of that gets to the rear wheels... Vehicle Weight 2660 Rear Wheel Horsepower 429.4 Estimated E.T (sec.) 10.69 Trap Speed 127.41 Check em out and see how close they are for your times... http://www.rpmoutlet.com/dyno.htm http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/4601/hpcalc.html
  18. I was going home today from the hobby shop and a motorcycle pulls in front and starts revving on me looking back. I guess thats because my car sorta looks like the fricken Batmobile. When the light turned green we both floored it and I got in the left lane and when I hit second I was passing him. I had to let off because the cars in front were coming up fast. Man you ought to have seen the look on his face...I think he had a 750 something, not a crotch rocket though....it was fun. 4 and 0... CZ
