  1. I have the motivational pictures on my phone. Down with the man!
  2. I think this has been discussed 8654678755 times before on here so if you used the search function you would have found your answer. google is your friend after all. That being said is the reason why I think it's slow. I get about as much on PMs as I do on the forum. Forums are supposed to get things out in the open to be talked about. If everyone just searched and PMed like most people on here would like, |I'm sure it would wither away quickly. instead of the policy being don't ever discuss anything that has been discussed before, maybe it should be something more along the lines of no spoon feeding. There's been a few times that I started a post and just deleted it because I didn't want to rattle the search knobs' cages. i thought everyone here was here because we like talking Z's.
  3. All I've seen was the gulf coast club and it looks like mainly newer Zs but I see 3 S30s driving around town every now and then, 1 has been parked in front of a mechanics shop for a few years now and the guy won't talk to anyone about selling it, and I know of 2 more people building them up right now. I can never flag down anyone to talk to them though. My friend has one and there is a guy with a street legal drag one. So that's almost 10 just in my general vicinity on the northshore.
  4. The knob I posted is just a reverse lockout button for an automatic, not a switch. That LG knob may be a happy medium since the button doesn't jump out at you.
  5. http://www.jegs.com/i/Lokar/625/SK-6920/10002/-1 Anyone know of a shift knob with a smooth button but that is an electrical button for the T56? Something that looks like the one in the link, I would prefer not to have an ugly button sticking out of the top of the shifter. I want to use it for the reverse lockout since I have read of a lot of people destroying the plastic bushing in their T56 by just powering through the lockout. I want to avoid that, but don't want to have any extra switches to turn on or off, or have to use a brake pedal switch where it comes on all the time.
  6. Yeah my friend went through that here with an old VW bus. Took him about 4-5 months and several trips to DMV.
  7. There are also some grey area title places in 2 or 3 states that have no titles or didn't use titles before a certain year. The closest state to us that works that was Alabama. It's been a few years so I don't know if those places still exist or not. I know it worked for cars with no titles, but not sure how it works with bonding. Basically you sell them the car (paperwork only) and they just need a bill of sale or something along those lines, then they sell it back to you for what you sold it to them for plus their fee. Then you can register it here since that state didn't require a title. I think Maine was another state that worked like that. I seen it on some British car forums. People would find old MGs or whatever in barns, etc., and no one cared about those cars back in the day so the titles were long gone. They would use those sort of places to get the car titled quickly. Some states didn't have titles before certain years so the car would have to be made before that year to be able for it to work. http://www.broadwaytitle.com/
  8. My coworker got an engine shipped to him several years ago by Forward Air. They are actually a trucking company that ships from airport to airport. The engine would have to be dropped off at their location and then picked up from their location at the destination. He said it was cheapest by a lot if you were able to drop it off and pick it up.
  9. Thanks. That's what I was thinking but wasn't sure if I was thinking correctly or not.
  10. Someone gave me a swt of Infiniti 5 spoke wheels with 245/45-17s on them. They fit inside the rear fenders with TTT suspension, but haven't had an alignment yet so I don't know what will change once it's aligned. they do fit between the coilover and fender though.
  11. The problem is the Z ones is so narrow. With most mirrors from other cars you won't be able to put down the visors. It was hard to find one that just fit between the visors, much less with a similar mount.
  12. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/113819-tired-of-crumbly-rear-view-mirror-not-superstitious-mirror-swap-concept/ This is what I did and its not too hard. My friend did it recently also.
  13. Do you have any pictures of the jdmflares ones installed?
  14. Also a freshly blasted car will rust quickly. You can treat the bare metal with Ospho or something similar and it will hold bare metal for a short time from rusting. At least down here it will where we have high humidity pretty much all the time. If you do leave it bare, make sure it stays inside with a car cover on it as much as possible to keep it dry as possible.
  15. Both mine and my friends Z's, both 78s had bubbly sound deadening on the tunnel. I let mine idle for a very long time in my driveway and saw it start bubbling. I grabbed a putty knife and that area scraped right off while it was hot. Right under the area is where the resonator was.
  16. epoxy prime the whole thing and then sand off areas you need to weld. Epoxy primer will hold it from rusting for a while and sticks better to bare metal.
  17. Many years ago I used a -4 an flex lines at my wheels for the brakes because I didn't know any better. When I swapped them out to -3, it shortened up my brake pedal throw by a very noticeable amount. I guess it took more fluid in the larger lines to move the pistons the same amount of distance.
  18. What rear lower control arms do you have? The TTT ones allow you to move the wheel back in the well so its more centered. I think I was able to move mine maybe 1/2" back. i think Sunny had his custom made ao his is further back, so yours wont be able to look exactly like his.
  19. Keep the comments about Capri pants to a minimum.
  20. I used the s12w with 86 5 lug hubs, rotors and spacers. I think the 86 rotor is slightly thicker. hawk pads were too thick to use, I had to get regular pads from o'advancedzone so the caliper would fit over the rotor.
  21. Do you have to drill and tap it to get it to fit on the t56 handle?
  22. http://www.xenons30.com/files/DatsunZ_Vintage_Air_1000.pdf This is what made me choose the compac. It has a little larger fan but the rest of the components are the same as the mini.
