  1. Anyone actually get the tt trans adaptor? Very interested, vh45s go for 400-500 out here.
  2. Like Mike just said, "any V8 in a Z car is better then none at all!" Davy not really, or is that a whole new can of worms..... long time no see Davy, which is funny, since I live about ten minutes away from you.
  3. and TRD headers are really sandersons.... Good luck with that one Mike, just picked up another 75 and s13...
  4. sounds like maf is going out, may also have a leak somewhere in the intake stream. also, srs and the like of jdm engines were designed and tuned on Japanese fuel, hp numbers are known to be lower here and sometimes it does effect performance.
  5. I just fixed this issue on my car, it was timing in my case. Seems with the msd you can run the car way advanced, had to back it down with stock ignition.
  6. Some skylines have clutch lsd diffs, like the one I gots...
  7. that new nissan 3.5 v6 with the 6speed is the hottest swap motor to me if I had to stay with a japanese engine. I dont like engines I cant get parts for. Nissan seems pretty dedicated to pushing the 3.5, I cant wait to see whats going on for turbo versions.
  8. Should be tons of fun, firecrackers and dancing lions. Event is catered and tons of cars. Dyno Raffle blah blah blah. racetune.net for more info. drinking, gambling, trainwreck.
  9. I did. This was a long time ago, but if I remember correctly I used an 85 200sx slave cylinder and a the JTR specified sized Master cylinder. Clutch was still heavy as crap and had problems engaging correctly. I made a bracket to hold the slave as it wont bolt up as is. Used a corvette clutch fork.
  10. Leave it be, its looks good as is to me.
  11. Honda makes good stuff, but hp to dollar ratio is BAD.... Thats what kills that option for me, more than kills it...
  12. I say do the head gasket and get the standalone, the spares that youve told me about mean you can blow more than headgaskets. 1500.00 will get you the standalone and 300+ hp will make you forget all about a gloria. Or, do the gloria, and make an extra set of engine mounts for me.
  13. I converted an L6 zcar to all autometer with the stewart warner kit kit available through courtesy nissan and possibly msa, and definitely through Nissan Motorsports. It has all the fittings to convert to mechanical gauges, in one nice box.
  14. Just about anything with a clutch type 2way diff or enough hp or tq to make a vlsd work, rwd, manual, heater and a radio. The rest to me is optional.
  15. Thats the exact same type diff Ive been Flogging the living P155 out of for the last two months now.
  16. Just saw photos and they look pretty dang good with a v8, although his taste in wheels paint and just about everything else looks pretty off to me. I think he wants a lot for his parts though. I would love to check out the motor brackets, the rest of the stuff I will just make.
  17. Dont get mad, get creative. -Ive rebuilt engines sitting on the tailgate of my truck -I dropped in my turbo engine on the sidewalk, broke it in driving it to work and school, and have had 2 years of thorough enjoyment out of it with no compression loss whatsoever. -Ive changed my oil in the SFSU student parking lot, filter too. -I regularily fix cars that wont start for some reason or another right where they break down. Worst case scenario is replacing alternator in a 240sx on the side of the freeway in a slight drizzle, for shizzle. Ive done crazier and more labor intense work on the street, but laying under a car while people are doing freeway speed is just plain scary. -I did the 4x4 brake conversion in a Kragen parking lot on Geary Blvd and walked my two piston calipers downstairs back in for cores Its from doing stuff like this where I learned to know that I can do whatever I want as long as I believe in myself and love myself for who I am, a resourceful pain in the ass who refuses to believe the sky is the limit, and looks forward to the day WHEN I look down upon it-while never forgetting those nights drenched in rain and grease and oil with my eyes on the prize. I have now had a garage for two years, and I go absolutely apes#1t working in it as much as possible. I am not scared to work on the street, but I am happy that I can have shop time to do my stuff, and lucky enough to have friends that share my mentality (The NISMOBB) and will help me either work on my car in the street or in their driveways. Ive had people ask me what I was doing and I once lived in an apartment where the landlord didnt like it. I got lucky when I told him, " I have to work on my car here so I can get to work on time and pay the rent on time, like I always do because I work on my car to go to work on time and pay rent on time, (say that six times to any response he or she has to you saying it the first time)" They probably wont like it and your lease may not be renewed, but the landlord that once got mad at me doing brakes just looked away when the cherry picker came through the next time. Im not saying do what I do, but theres more than one way to skin a cat.
  18. AWESOME!!!! I emailed the address posted about three hours ago while doing a search on the conversion, I didnt know that it was that easy! If I remember right, all chevy trans are same mounting bushing, and at the most a manual transmission will require either putting the xmember back or forward a bit? Thanx guys, now to find that 6speed.
