  1. electrical cleaner is fine, 44 gap is pretty good, sounds like your ignition is pretty hot, you could go 50, possibly. ive run 45 with a stock hei and a 50k coil before with no issues, cant see why you cant go at least that or more. im sure somebody will chime in, but thats what i think.
  2. i wouldnt count on it, most import wheels are at least 40mm offset. the four lug is the same on 240sx though.
  3. that is nice, i promised myself if i ever do a v8 car again, its big block, or no block! lookin good.
  4. the derale oil cooler is 69.99 from summit ford sandwich adaptor is cheap i dont know quite how much though.
  5. its the smaller npr, it should be here in a week or so. sidenote: with that stock gnx ic and just upped the boost, fpr, big fuel pump and street tires, we got a national to run 13.43 no hook, should be good for 12s with hook, owner doesnt know how to drive. this is in a grand national with full interior and street tires, with that Intercooler
  6. you scored good, it should make good power. i got one up on you though, I JUST SCORED AN NPR!!!!!
  7. i might be trading some stuff for one of these, im wondering if anyone knew the specs on them, i cant find anything as far as make model and power out of one of these things...thanx yo,.
  8. i guess this is related to charging problems, but it has more to do with an alternator swap. i run the 83 turbo alt in my 75, which had a mechanical regulator i think. well anyways here the weird part, my charging system is good, its just that it reads 15.1 volts when i hit excite rpm when i checked today with multimeter. i do know the alt i have is internal, the wiring plugged right up from part of 75 harness, i am charging, but it is a little high. here are some more symptoms. my charge rpm is kinda high, like 3k or so. it will stay charged even at idel then but it reads kinda high, im scared im gonna blow this alternator or mess up my charging system, any ideas guys?? thanx
  9. i agree. i didnt turn up boost when i dropped in a zxt motor, in zxt it ran 6psi with stock exhaust, and a cat, with cat and three inch exhaust, it went up to 8psi and would spike up to 10 if i granny shift and floored it, i dont think you have a problem, oh yeah you do have a problem why are you only running 9 psi??? probably break in procedure right? probably a good thing then. i think youre ok.
  10. do the bottom adjustment last right? i usually just do the vaccum sync unless its reallly running crappy. just sync them with the choke off until it idles where you like it, should be ok.
  11. long screwdriver. the biggest problem i had was lining up with the discharge flange, stupid exhaust people welded the dp to the exhaust
  12. whoops. well my other excuse is that i dont want to get caught with nitrous either, i remember why i pulled my nitrous kit off my v8 car, too many close ones in two or so days, both the law and my rings... ill go with air to air just for simplicities sake, im not running enough hp to notice either way i guess.
  13. you could always hook up that nx n-tercooler system and run either nitrous or c02 to cool that intake charge, id run c02 just because it wont catch on fire spontaneously, you never know with that open air nitrous spray, you could be on the freeway, somebody throws a ciggerette out the window...ouch
  14. my plans for a next car was a turbo v8 powered skylark tag would read: "PSILARK"
  15. wow, didnt know my z was that heavy? oh well, its way more comfortable than my 240 ever was to drive, but my 240 was a racer, this turbo car is a daily driver, an all day everyday, rain or shine, driver, with boost.
  16. dont think so, its just like having the throttle partway open, its not a mixture control or anything i dont think
  17. as much i love the RB, i would go with that twin turbo 300zx motor over it, once again due to availability. i would love to see how that swap turns out, i can get those motors for a good price, not cheap, but a good price considering that theres a warranty involved and its domestically available without knowing the secret handshake.
  18. i dont see anything good coming out of the 350zx platform, they go from a tt model to a na model? their going down like mitsubishi. they coulda done a single turbo model or something, besides doesnt a tt mod void a warrenty- a 30k warranty?
  19. i personally like the 75-78 zcars over all of the them, once the bumpers disappear. stronger chassis, efi from the get go, all around stronger car, no need to reinforce chassis if v8ed, and if you wanted too, you could make it a full frame car from a little less than two feet of sheet metal. r200 stock with five speed stock, man i love it. some models have ac already, bonus. turbo swap into a 280 takes me a week taking my time, just drop em in, and wire up relays, ecu, and efi stuff, tapping into power thats already related, and boom, im in there. its my opinion only, but i do speak from experience, i had a v8 240z for quite some time and loved it to death, actually i drove it to death. downside of a 280, its not smog exempt, but i am
