  1. Just relax, winter is shorter with a cool project. Heck mine is a pile of parts still.... Richard.
  2. Nice work, congrats. I bet 99.9% of the people have no idea what kind of power and stability it takes to get to that speed level. Fewer have any idea (including me) what that speed feels like. Well Done. Richard.
  3. May or may not be this one, a quick eBay search found this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-3-Row-Nissan-Datsun-240Z-260Z-1970-1975-71-72-73-Aluminum-Radiator-Fans-/261656961280?fits=Make%3ADatsun%7CModel%3A240Z&hash=item3cebf86100:g:wBwAAOSwzaJX6H6n&vxp=mtr
  4. I have a 240Z so those hoses will not help me. Thanks though. Richard.
  5. That is great news, and we all know you needed some! We all buy insurance hoping never to use it. Nice to see they came through. Richard.
  6. We discussed this on the thread, that looks great but until we know if the headers, mounts etc fit with the CX kit, it is only a really cool set up, not proven to work one way or the other. JMHO, Richard. PS if we knew it worked I would be the first to buy one!
  7. I have researched this a lot and from what I have seen is none of the high mount DD or any others will clear the fender using the 508 compressor. The newer super small compressors may fit high on the pass side. The JCI kit is what most people use. I have not ordered mine yet but it is close to the next thing I need. Just my observations. Richard.
  8. At this point, there are still cars out there so I would wait a little while on the INS guys. I know the wait is killing you, but there is not much you can do until they make a decision. Did the INS company give you an idea what the over under is on total or not? That would be the only out, take the totaled car and with cash in hand move on. But as you said doing it all over again will be tough. BUT as you well know the second time is much easier and faster. Remember the 9 day coupe build we did on FFcars? Of course that was more than our second time. I would give the INS a deadline of some kind so they do not drag it out too long. Just my opinion, good luck. Richard.
  9. Thanks for the info, I have the CXR kit and headers, so I will see if I can borrow a compressor and see if it fits without the mount. Hope you kept the cad file for the mount. Richard.
  10. Ok I'll bite, what compressor and does is it clear the stock mount location from the Z? I would prefer to have the compressor there but the stock LS is too big and has rear ports. Thanks in advance. Richard.
  11. So bummed for you, what a pain. I know you want 'that' car, but being on the west coast craigslist has shells pop up all the time for reasonable money. Parts cars etc. Heck I almost bought one from out there (1800 miles one way) as I could not find anything without a ton of cancer here is salt land. For sure get yourself better first, get the car back and make a decision. Other than sore we are all glad you are OK. Cars can be fixed, rebuilt etc. Richard. Get together a ONE DAY REBUILD LOL.
  12. http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/1665386-belt-length-question-ps-delete-25-ud-pulley.html LS1 tech is your friend. HTH, Richard.
  13. If autocross was easy everyone would do it in 106 degrees. Dry heat or not, a helmet and 106 is an Flippin OVEN SET ON HIGH. Nice job, car sounds and looks good!. I have been watching and learning from all 18 pages of this thread. Progress here is slow here but steady. R
  14. I had a bit of luck, my donor was a GTO, similar to a Camaro. But I had parts that were damaged in the wreck. Everything I needed was found on fee bay. Be patient and the parts will turn up. The hard part was figuring out what I needed. Good luck. Richard.
  15. NOT an expert by any means. My only thought is if the voltages match up then you are fine with making the connection but I doubt they will be. It would probably take the factory service manual from both cars with complete, I mean very complete wiring diagrams to see if it is even feasible. JMHO, The guys at LS1Tech may be off more help. Richard.
  16. Looking really good, I know it had to be a bit hard cutting rust free fenders and quarters. But it is YOUR car, cut if you want to. Finally found a better tub starting serious work soon. Keep us posted! Richard.
  17. What about headers? Do any of the current headers fit? CXR, JCI, JTR? Looks good though. R
  18. Nice job on the mount. My 8.8 is only on the M bar. Hope it works LOL. R
  19. They guys that did my harness did the re flash of the ECU. There are lots of services that do it. But in the end what I got was a start tune. I will probably go back and have it tuned live later. LS1tech has a bunch of guys that can do the flash for you. HTH, Richard.
  20. I have had a lift for more than 10 years, I can not imagine working on cars without one. Heck, I put the car on the lift to clean it, so I do not have to bend down to clean the rocker panels. You are going to love having a lift. Richard.
  21. Great work, one of these days I will start a thread. Richard.
  22. What compressor mount is that, and does it fit? Richard.
  23. I have looked at the low compressor mounts (A LOT) but the problem is they are too long to use the stock cross member. The JCI mount seems to be the one of choice, driver up high. So unless you make your own passenger side mount, notch the frame, and oh yea, the headers become a problem also, the low will not work.. In short not worth it There are some mounts that use the new super small compressor but it also mounts to the top. If that set up was not crazy expensive I would consider it and center mount the tensioner. The advantage to me for the passenger side mount is routing the wiring and hoses. Just my opinion, HTH, Richard.
  24. Nice job on the install, lots and lots of work, and that is just the posting pictures part LOL. Seriously nice job. Richard.
