opinions on these..I want to buy
innerware replied to innerware's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Thanks for all the help. It may be a little more work than I wanted. Afterall with the extra time and money I would have to spend I should just save up for some rewinds and tires. It certainly would be easier. I hadn't even thought about the offset being that off and the studs needing replacing. Not worth it IMO for used wheels that I think are just OK. If they were a wheel I could just throw on then it would have been fine. Thanks again for all the great help I receive on this site. I'll keep saving. Kyle -
What do you think about these wheels? http://www.craigslist.com/pen/car/73419347.html I might have a chance to get them, haven't called him back yet. I also don't know the offset, or tire size. Is there anything else I should ask him?? I just want to get rid of my hubcapped stock rims. Also want to put the s12w brakes on and these should fit them. Thanks for any input, Kyle

Please help with cheap suspension setup
innerware replied to Hugh's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I have put that same kit on my car from the same ebayer. I like it a lot. It is way stiffer over stock. Not too stiff either. It is a comfortable ride and I can corner way harder than before. I have heard new sway bars make a big difference if you upgrade the diameter. But go with the suspension. It is easy to instal and make a nice improvement. Oh, and I think I paid less for them than what is on ebay right now. Email him and find out if he has any others and what he would sell them at. I bought mine like year ago, so he should have more. -
I am totaly with you about the gun barrels clean. As much as I can do I will to protect my rights. Although there are ways to stop rfid chips from being read from a distance or at all. There are anti static bags that will stop the chip from being broadcast or read. So I am not all too worried about that. That aside don't we think we are worrying about issues that aren't a problem. Stop illigal immagration, stop pissing other countries off, etc etc. It is like airport security. It is useless other than a visual deterant. If I wanted to get a bomb on a plane it wouldn't be hard at all. Harder since the 70's yes, but not impossible at all. And we keep throwing money at the issue. I've actually worked on ct scanners and such for the TSA. No real great technology there. There are definately too many sheeple out there. But we have to stop all this paranoia. Rant rant rant. I'll stop.

There is a set on craiglist SanFrancisco for sale here locally. I think they are small though.

Dan, that tomohawk dash cap looks so mean and nice on the car. How easy or hard was it to put on. How expensive etc? Really nice work.

It would be hard to keep the car all shiny and new looking there. It would be like living in a sand blasting cabinet. I am thankful I don't live there for sure. Although it would probably help my car.

So, Jaime240z on this site has a set of 14 inch wheels for sale. They are the mesh style and I want to know if toyota calipers will fit at all with or without a spacer. I can't test fit as I don't have the calipers on my car yet. Is there anyone with the toyota s12w calipers on there car in the Danville CA area that would be willing to let me test them to view clearance? I'd love to bring you a six pack of your favorite beer for your trouble and meet a hybrid member too. I am in search of cheap wheels so that I can finally put the calipers on the car. Or, does anyone know of cheap wheels that can be had that will fit these calipers? I don't care too much about looks as I still have the stock steel hubcapless rims and they are ugly. Thanks

so, I have had my car for 3 years or so. It's been my daily driver and I have loved it. Except for a few things. The exhaust smell wasn't my favorite thing in the world. And with the windows up the smell was pretty much gone. But I would cook. My vent wouldn't work. I had air out the defroster which was good on rainy days but that was it. So today I was inspired to clean my car. For giggles I climbed under the driver side of the dash and for the first time noticed a spring dangling without doing anything. I finally figured out where it went and tightened down some screws and low and behold I have a vent that blows a good amount of air. My air conditioner works too. Never knew if it worked since I never had air out the vent. Also, I think I found the hole in the back that was letting in exhaust fumes. I will find out later after the silicone dries. But even if it still stinks I now have air out the dash!!! I am so excited. Not only is it clean now but I have air!! Anyway, it is the little things that make me happy. There still are things to do on the car, some bushings, minor rust and paint etc, new wheels and toyota brake upgrade, headlight relays etc etc. But at least I have air now. Just in time for summer.

Hey all. So CrazyZ is selling his 14" aluminum turbine wheels here on this site in the classifieds. I have always liked that kind of wheel and I am still using my original stock hubcapped wheels. So I would like an upgrade that one, looked better, and two, would fit the toyota calipers. Since I do know they will look better, my question really is....Has anyone successfully put the toyota calipers under those rims? I will probably need a spacer, but I don't want to buy them if they won't fit at all. I have had the calipers for a while itching at me to put them on but can't afford new wheels and tires at the moment. So this would certainly help me out. Thanks in advance, Kyle

Does anyone have the service manual for a 78 on cd? The one I got like 3 years ago stopped playing in my computer or anyones for that matter. Some of the pdf files work but the fuel section doesn't. I tried to contact the maker of the cd and he hasn't called me back yet. I just don't want to shell out another 50 bucks for a new one. I'll pay shipping and a few bucks extra. That way I can figure out where all the vent hoses are for this car. Maybe some day there will be no fumes.

for those that have done there gas return lines etc. What did it intale and were the parts (hoses) expensive. Did you get them at msa or victoria british? And what were the parts called? I am figuring that when I corner left I get more fumes in my car it probably is the hoses are bad. I thought I sealed everything else with new rubber and silicone. But man it stinks bad on a hard corner. Thanks all

I hope he ate that bugger. Ouch!!

if it is for a stock inliner you can get it at msa. That is where I got mine.

Well, the headlights on a Z are common to fail. The first thing I would ask is what did the guy do to get the low beams working? Next thing would be to make sure that all your graounds and connections are good. Following that I would check your rocker switch on your steering column. That is usually the culprit for headlights going out. It could also be a fuse I would imagine. You might want to upgrade your lights by adding relays. Check the forum. It is discussed a lot here. Good luck

looks great. I like the wheels. What are they?

There is a possibility that the injectors are fine and the wires (connectors) to the injectors are old and not sending the proper signal. It was pretty inexpensive to replace those connectors and fairly easy too. If the rubber boots are all cracked then I bet you have corrosion at the contacts. Good luck.

well, since you have autocad you have a few options. If you go to the plotter setup before you print you have the option to pick the paper you are going to print on. You can print onto that paper in whatever scale that you want that will fit the drawing. You can also set up a paper in paper space not model space where it sounds like you are drawing. Once you draw your part in model space in 1:1 scale you can switch to paper space and set up a veiwport for your work. That will be like a window to your drawing. Double click the viewport you created and you can pan and scale the drawing beneath. In paper space you can also setup whatever size paper you are going to be using. I believe there are preset blocks that come with the program that are specified paper sizes. Go to insert block and look for them. Hope that helps a little, I got to run. Email me any questions if you want. I have used autocad for a while.

yes there are two processes. The first uses veggie oil from restaurants that you have to convert. You need to agitate, heat and add lye to it. The end results are biodiesil and glycrein. So if you want to make soap too it is good for that. It can also just be dumped as it is biodegradable. The second is where you use straight filtered oil in your car. The oil does have to be heated first. You use 2 tanks, one with a heater attached to it to heat up the veggie oil, the second to run actual deisil. People use turbo timers to let the car run for a minute after shut down to flush the engine with real deisel so it will start the next morning. Otherwise it will congeal in the engine. I myself want a 87 Mercedes turbo deisel wagon to do this to. It would be so nice to have cheap fuel.

would you even need air put into that. Or is it like a 1 inch piece of rubber wrapped around the rim. That is truly amazing.....yuck

How to get a hold of Ross at MM
innerware replied to Floorless240z's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I don't think that he has his number listed anywhere. He does come to this board quite frequently. I think sometimes he gets overloaded and forgets to email back. Just email him again. I have had great results emailing him. I know others who have had similiar problems like you. But he is in business to do business. So email him again and maybe PM him here too. Good luck -
