  1. Hi Tim, Ouch. Why does higher head temps make the seat fall out? Joe
  2. Yep, it's me. Still 22 hours to go. I doubt it's gonna stay that low.
  3. Since you had the timing cover off, did you use a gasket or rtv to put it back on? Something is not letting the oil pump pull oil from the pan. My guess would be the oil passage in the front cover is blocked. One of my friends had this problem but his was a homemade gasket he put between the block and the oil pickup tube. Guess which homemade gasket didn't have a hole in the middle?!
  4. Joel, From your description it looks like you are concerned with how the computer connects to the internet. Is that where you'd like to see the improvement? Joe
  5. Has anyone looked at the CV joints from an M30 Infiniti? They look to have the same tripod setup as the 280zx CV's but the inner housing seems to have a removable boot. I have one in the garage so I'll tear it apart to see if it's compatible.
  6. I'm still up in the air if I can make it for the Sept meeting. Labor Day weekend is definitely out because of my grandmothers 88th birthday and the second weekend my wife has us going to my inlaws. If the inlaw trip falls through we can for sure use my place. I'll keep everyone in the loop if no other location is available. By the way.....Rturbo 930, your from NJ, do you hav any interest in the club? I'm not sure if you were involved in the last go round. Joe
  7. Thanks for the lead. I'll see what 12 bolt shims look like. Joe
  8. I've been dealing with a gear lash issue for a while now. What I discovered is that my Gleason/Torsen LSD does not locate the ring gear in the same location as an open carrier. I set them side by side with the ring gear mounting surface facing up and they are definitely not the same. And yes, I have checked this against many diffs. This is causing my gear lash to be in the .024 range! I have done a lot of searching and it seems lots of people ask about reshimming and a universal shim kit mentioned quite often, but has anyone actually purchased this kit? If so, where can I get it? The shims from Nissan are outrageous. Joe
  9. Brian, I need the piece that holds the charcoal canister. Sorta a belt with a buckle in Nissan blue thingy. Joe
  10. Well I'm back from my vacation reminiscing and I have to agree, that was a very cool day! Been a long time since I could say I was hanging out with Z people in my neck of the woods. Great turn out. Thanks Clive and Dave. We need to do it again real soon! Joe
  11. I'll be getting there kinda early as I'll have to cut out early. I left the family at the summer house and they are expecting be back there sometime today. I should be up at Harriman around 12:30-1:00 Joe
  12. All right Al! I'm not bringing my red V8 car either. Can't wait to see the topless Z. Joe
  13. What time is everyone getting there?
  14. Dave, I have a few 1mm gaskets. One of them was torqued once. You can have that one, just come pick it up. Joe
  15. Austin, Where in the classifieds? I'm looking and can't seem to find it. I found it. Thanks. Joe
  16. I'd do the HG and start the monster build with a different block. With the monster build I'd assume your going with a set of custom pistons, and maybe a stroker? What could be better than to have the monster being built on the engine stand while the car is still running? Obviously just my opinion. Joe
  17. My car was nicknamed 25 years ago when I was in high school. RYS RKT Joe
  18. Yep, what Dan said. Front dif mount will make you lift off the gas in a hurry when it lets the u joint hit the parking brake. Joe
  19. Sure thing man. I'm on vacation at the summe house right now but I'll be back in time to head to the meet. PM me if you need something sooner. Joe
  20. No email for me. Can ya show me some love??
  21. I think you are thinking it looks like something is missing because the bumper is no longer there. Try sticking the marker light lense on there ans see what it looks like. Joe
  22. As did I. That's why it took me over a week to figure it out because "It couldn't possibly be a grounding issue". Good luck man. Be sure to let us know what you find. Joe
  23. I know it's not the same system but when I had a similar problem it turned out to be a bad ground. The way I found t was to pull the fuel rail complete with injectors. I turned the ignition switch to "ON" to see waht would happen. I got nothing which is what I should have. But when I cranked the engine I got a full stream of fuel from every injector! When I described what was happening to Electromotive they told me to go over all of my sensor grounds. I figured it was easiest to just rewire all of the grounds. Once I did that the car started and idled fine. If for nothing else I would check what is happening with the injectors when cranking with the throttle closed. Joe
