  1. Thanks guys. I feel much better now as i do have forged pistons and I did set it up for a pressurized motor where the piston manufacturer (Ross) recomended a fairly large piston to cylinder wall clearance. I'll just continue to let it warm up before beating on it Joe
  2. You have to remove the panel on the inside of the hatch. crawl into the hatch and remove the body panel rivits. Once the panel is removed, you can open the hatch by activating the lever attached to the lock and the hatch will open. Joe
  3. Wow. This thread really has my attention as I have the same symptoms on my turbo 3 liter L6. It has done it since it was first rebuilt. I have built a new 3 liter shortblock but will wait until this one give up before doing the swap. So far it has been going strong for 3 years and the next track day is this coming Sunday. Joe
  4. S. Bronx street races? This past weekend??? What did I miss??? Guy's you have to include me the next time your going to play! Car does look great David. Do you still have the minivan "kill" stickers on there also? Joe

  6. Just to throw another option in the mix, I have my additional metal inside the rocker boxes. I cut off the rockers and welded 2x3 box tube to the inside rocker panel. Its the panel that has all of the 2 inch holes in it along the foot well. In the front the box tube is tied into a 2 inch diameter tube that is tied to the TC cup. Out back at the end of the rocker panel, I have a 1.5 inch tube that ties the rocker box to the roll bar. I'm sorry I don't have any pictures as this was done about 16 years ago. So far so good and with about 3/4" of bondo in the roof (don't ask) there is still no signs of stress cracking. Has anyone seen the braces that used to be available that would tie the TC cups to the front crossmember? I used to have a set way back when and can't seem to find them and I don't recall ever seeing them mentioned on HybridZ. Joe
  7. Wait till Pete Paraska sees this. His little Diamond Star is in trouble! Joe
  8. John, Some have used bushings and some have not. Those that haven't have not experienced any problems with bolt breakage. I know Mat73GNZ was selling the bushings. Joe
  9. Holy crap Tim, that looks great!! I love the modern steering wheel also! Joe

  13. When the car in gear and not moving, what can you see turning? Is the driveshaft turning? one halfshaft? Joe
  14. Your pretty close to me. Why don't you bring your crossmember down and you can compare it to one I have in the garage. I would sell it to you but I want to use it for a modified control arm pickup point crossmember. Joe
  15. Are you sure the frame rails are square?? Where are you located? Joe
  16. Ed, Do you get water movement in the rad when the thermostat opens? It would be the first thing I looked for. It'll tell you if the stat is opening and if the pump is moving water. One other note. The first picture you posted is useless with the hottie in the picture right above it! Joe
  17. Don't laugh Jon. I'm hoping my 7 year old wants to see the Disney movie "Cars" because I want to see it! Joe
  18. John, Do you have info on the z32 and z33 tran's? Weight, lenght, etc... Also, do the VQ and VG motors use the same bolt pattern for the the bell housing? Thanks. Joe
  19. $3k and done in less than 4 months??!!! It takes that much money and that much time for a bodyshop around here to sneeze in the cars direction once they get it! I am totally convinced that it is worth the extra time to ship a car to another part of the country to have it painted. Can you tell I have bad luck with autobody shops??? Joe
  20. Looks like I'll be trailering a car down to Ky! Thanks John! Joe
  21. You guys are getting ALL the rain. Here in NJ we have had all of .8" of rain for the entire month of March. I can see the water rationing is gonna come early this year Joe
  22. I've never seen the larger isolators on the front of a 280. On the back, yes, but all the fronts I've seen are all the smaller type. Oh, and to answer your question, yes the 280 struts will work on the 240. I am using sectioned 280 struts on my 71. Joe
