Your timing could be off to. If i remember correctly if your to far advanced it will run hot. also make sure your fan kicks on when its supposed to if your running electric fans
Seems the stock half shafts don't like hi rpm, rb launches. especially with a strong clutch and traction. I was ok with mine till i started adjusting tire pressure to hook up. the V-8 auto guys dont seem to have half the problems we do with twice teh HP:icon56:
HAHA been there done that.
Mine made 352 rwhp with no mafs, at stock boost. I said the same thing about the stock hp rating. when i turned it up to 15 PSI it made 392 rwhp with 680cc inj and stock turbos. it was fun. good luck keeping the rear end together.
Well here we are a year or so later.
the black car got up and running hit the wall and now is for sale.
The red car is just about to come out of the chassis shop and I'm really excited about getting started on it.
What is still for sale is the front struts. they are for sale because they don't work with my car and the drag wheels. the Z31 spindles offset is too much. even with the brakes removed the 3.5 inch wide wheels need overfenders:shock:.
Not selling for any other reason then i just want the front wheels to fit right. If i was running wide wheels in the front they would be good. these struts will require using the sterring rack i have as i extended the arms of the rack.
not sure how much they are worth but if you have a setup with AZC coilovers, stock brakes 4 or 5 lug i would be will to trade straight up.
These struts currently are running Z32 brakes with Z31 rotors, and stop really good. anyways PM if you are interested.
This link has some pics of the struts and some info on the mods.

So are they open or routed back into the exhaust? Nothing like giving an inconsiderate driver a blast with an open waste gate right as you pass there open window ;>
Anyone know where i can get a set of 15X12 watanabe (or look alike) with 4.5 inch BS. not sure what that is in offset
5 on 4.5 lug pattern.
I actually had a set when i was in japan but they were way too wide for my application at that point
Back from the dead.... i"m getting ready to do this myself to both the black Z and my red one. Anyone have anymore detailed pics and recommendations on how to do this. i have done bodywork just not something as extensive as this.
Ok we have a "lets see your RB, v-8, 240z, 260z" threads i want to see how many different ideas are out there on rear suspensions and wheel and tire combos.
Mine will be out of the shop soon so I'm brainstorming ideas now ;>
Hey what size AN fittings did you install in the valve covers? Did you happen to due a writeup? Ive been wanting to do something like that for a while.
Turning them out you have to clamp the covers down and there is a chance of scratching or damaging in some way. take the internal baffling out and use a large diameter flat punch from the inside one good wack and they should go flyin.
Yea i would say your running a tad FAT. Dont run it too much like that or you run the risk of washing out the cylinders. also once you get it running right change the oil your gonna have a lot of fuel in it
If your running the supra engine harness the easiest thing to do is get a plug and play system something you just unplug the stock computer and plug in the EMS ECU a start tuning.
I didn't read the article but i can tell you from experience that one persons idea of what a street car is depends on how tolerable that person is to comfort level. To some just the fume problem most Zs experience is enough to make people not want to drive on the street. where a person like myself would have no problem drive cross country in my Z which is a purpose built drag car. just have to wear earplugs ;>
All those components are to modify stock computer inputs. If you plan on getting to 1000hp you need run a standalone!!! its required to fine tune for street ability and track
If you come across your gear ratio is too tall then gtr Diff is basically the same thing ( i believe) and it offers gear ratios in the 4s. Nice build please keep us updated on how the rearend holds up. I would like to use the same setup but with a powerglide and a gtr diff with 4.11s in it.
OOps you may be right on that one. Best way to see is to open it up and look at the filter element. there is a huge difference in a carb type filter and a FI filter.
Click on the links you gave in your thread earlier. then click on the "check application" link... its says they are for carburetor fuel systems. in the product search thing search "fuel injection filter" click on the first one that comes up and do the same thing. you will see it says a HP rating and that they are good in carb or FI applications. The filter element is what is the difference. the carb filters have a element that almost looks like a solid element cant even see thru it.
