I'm in need of the left, drivers side 280z hatch bracket that is connected to the strut via a pin and connects to the hatch underside. I managed to find one for a passenger side, but need one more for the drivers side. Anyone have a worn out strut they don't mind cutting the end off or popping out the pin? Let me know what you guys have, thanks....

It's been pretty well documented here that the 76-77' tanks do not have the greatest baffling system and can still create fuel starvation issues in certain conditions(autocross, etc) in case you have not seen. With that being said, my intentions are to utilize the ATL black box placed into my stock 73' tank, which has been well written up here.

Here is a pic another member submitted along time ago. I have had a 76' tank gone through the rebuild process with gastankrenu.com, which completely splits, blasts, then plastsol's the inside and paints the exterior. After spending lots of money on engine upgrades the last thing I wanted was an inferior fuel tank. I ended up selling the tank to another member as my build dragged on.

Post up some pics or video when your finished, thanks...

My Replacement Fenders Arrived Today... How do I put them on?
Nelsonian replied to rayaapp2's topic in Body Kits & Paint
The 3M adhesive that we used was 3M 08116 panel adhesive and the manual gun purchased at TCP Global. We ended up using Stuart's pneumatic gun as the adhesive is very thick and he had a pneumatic gun. In similar fashion to Stony, we also used small screws to fasten the rears well to the body. These will be removed and the holes filled in as we progress. The adhesive along with the previously mentioned added metal lips and metal brackets have provided a very strong and well fastened rear panel that sounds like a continuous metal piece as you knock on it from the top down. I have unfortunately had some minor fitment issues, (mostly on the front fenders), but I chock it up to a) the fiberglass material and my car suffered from a nice wreck at one time by the po. I could not be happier with John's help and customer service, as he has gone above and beyond with helping me out. -
I like what you have started here and am looking forward to seeing where it goes. A suggestion if I may for the center console. A nice left handle for the passenger, integrated in somehow, in a similar fashion sortof as the lamborghini reventon.

My Replacement Fenders Arrived Today... How do I put them on?
Nelsonian replied to rayaapp2's topic in Body Kits & Paint

I had my body/paint guy (Stuart) weld on a lip to meet up with the 1.5" gap the rear subtle z panels provide. While rapping my knuckle from the c pillar down to the wheel lip, it sounds like continuous solid metal. We used a 3m adhesive to bond the rears. I need to update my build thread (nelsonian 240z) with new pics. We did the fronts where they come close to the door crease also, but bonded the metal strip to the inner fr fender. Stuart also filled in the inner wheel housing with metal to the adjoining rear fg panels to fill the new void. With the addition of the newly welded on lip, the panel becomes very sturdy.
-
I'm all for your approach on the custom dash. I like the overall shape of the original, but hate the cheap hard plastic feel of it, as well as the need for more gauge provisions. I don't mind the 240sx swap but dislike how it matesd up to the lower windshield portion. Will be watching this thread and hoping for good results.

Fender Vents, General aero Questions
Nelsonian replied to Challenger's topic in Windtunnel Test Results and Analysis
Yeah I was thinking it would just be easier to go the route of the lower fenders with the necessary strengthening added. I must be a complete simpleton as I have yet to figure out how to link photos now. -

Fender Vents, General aero Questions
Nelsonian replied to Challenger's topic in Windtunnel Test Results and Analysis
Bringing back this thread with a question or two. I revisited my thoughts on using the Hyundai tiburon side vents and ended up getting a used set to tape up and visually see if it would work for me both functionally and aesthetically. My question is in regards to venting the trapped firewall air. Would anyone see a problem by routing it through a sealed, triangulated tunnel through the firewall into the cabin exiting out the side vents, as opposed to the way some have done in the past by putting holes in the structural sides and out the side vents. Here are some very, very quick and crude visuals. I would intend on keeping the vertical structure intact at the firewall and making a sealed tunnel for the air coming directly at it to vent out. -
Jack love your car and are on the same page with your color choices of silver or grey, as I am currently pondering which of the two. I have become very fond of the 12' BMW space grey, and also the 07' Subaru urban grey. Really can't go wrong with the curves and lines of the s30. Check them out if you are not familiar with them.

The silver Vildini shop car is sporting 16" Watanabe's.

She is coming along nicely there. What final color combinations have you decided upon?

Have you tried contacting Sandy Cook of Jim Cook Racing (562) 431-4605. I bought a low profile spoiler from her a few years back, that was actually made at a company in Oceanside, CA.

Wheel Show! Post your pics of you wheels
Nelsonian replied to k3werra's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Those are my all time favorite mesh wheels. Makes me want to find a set and another car and start a whole new project. Great rare find! -

Okay, since I'm reasonably close to painting my project and have been in "paint observation mode" for the last few months I'll donate. My first choice above all is silver, and amongst that color palette I have narrowed it to 1.) Nissan chrome silver, 2.) Honda s2000, 3.) Current Toyota silver. Along with filled in and re chromed early front bumpers, I just love the mono chromatic look. The other color two colors that have kept my attention are as seen by another members car here 07' Subaru WRX STI grey, and lastly current BMW titanium silver grey. Some visuals below... 68' roadster.bmp
